You can hear the sincerity in James' voice when he says he misses and loves Cliff. Metallica NEVER left him behind and that's fuckin' awesome.
This is why Faith no More didn’t include Jim in the reunion......he turned up for rehearsal and they didn’t believe it was him!!! 😂

And he thanks efff for that. But he is always polite and courteous when ever he decides to reveal he was a founding member of FNM or ppl recognize. He's happily married with two kids..he's loving his life.
While we can't have Cliff back, I pray that Jim decides to write and record again. He is one of the great un-sung heroes of metal and has a gift which should be shared.

Cliff named the album after the record company baulking at "Metal up your ass" He said fuck those guys man , Kill em all. So yeah the hammer was totally Cliff too. He has a BASS SOLO on the album! A BASS SOLO!? That is just fucking brilliant! He was a force to be reckoned with.

Jim and Cliff were best friends way before Metallica became Metallica. They were inseparable like brothers.

Jim Martin is a metal genius, Angel Dust is one of the most groundbreaking metal albums ever, even his solo project with Hetfield is raw and powerful.

Jim had almost nothing to do with angel dust and he hated it. He called it “fag rock.” The guys wrote the songs without him there and he would show up for a few hours to record what was handed to him and left.

Not really that much metal on it and besides Jim said he didn't have any interest in the album.

But we got some very very interesting stuff after AD that would’ve never happened if Jim had remained. And frankly, there would be no FNM if Jim stayed and Billy left. Bill is FNM, imo

Can’t believe that Jim never ended up in a supergroup or another major band after FNM. Although, I think everyone has heard that he’s difficult to work with, but who knows? All of FNM seemed difficult to work with...except maybe Puffy.

James seems to have such respect for Jim, and I love that, Jim was a big part of FNM, such a shame he left, no album was as great as the ones with him - King For a Day was cool, with Trey Spruance playing on it, but it was quite a a departure

Not many people know this, but Jim Martin and Mike Bordin were in a band with Cliff Burton in high school (called “EZ Street”). They were also friends with James Hetfield as well during that time. Amazing stuff.
Yeah, And then Bordin left due to issues with Jim and so Jim and Cliff made Agents of Misfortune and then Cliff jumped to Trauma but kept in contact with Bordin and Jim and it was his suggestion for Jim to Join FNM.
Not his suggestion to join. His suggestion to start FMM with Bordin, Jim and the other two. Cliff loved Jim and they were like brothers...Billy effed the whole thing up. And now holds on for royalties only. And when the dollars are low..pushes the stadium tours..when everyone else is over it. Fact is without Jim..there would be no Mike Patton or FNM. Mike would've still gone on to his first love of Mr Bungle and he's thank Eff for that..but fact is no record label would've signed MB without the opportunity and popularity of FNM bc there just wasn't a label that would sign them and no money to be made off of them. But Karma unfortunately hurt MP in the form of AK getting MB KICKED off all booked stadium and festival bookings. Where Billy silently kept his glee hidden..so that MP had to stay with FNM. Billy goat ruined so very much..for all.
Btw. Mike Borden was out voted on keeping Jim IN THE BAND. They had no issues.

Of course I'm a Cliff fan like of all of us, but I also always liked James. He's got something special too. Coolest band ever, even their bad albums have some kind of touching sincerity.. Long live these guys, and let's not forget Jason who took the job with great courage and talent. And Bob Trujillo who couldn't have been a better choice. Anyway, I'll always be a groupie haha

***** It was very boring.. he didn't say more than two words.... Hetfield was totally cool though. He was funny, cracking a few jokes and he told us a few funny road stories of them getting to the show...... it was cool, it was a very small club. There were less than a 100 people there.

The hammer story was the truth.cliff actually carried around a hammer kinda like the rock hammer in Shawshank Redemption. He literally carried it around for protection..it was small enough to carry in his jacket pockets. .. another story about cliff was. He always carried around an old acoustic guitar tuned to c# and he would play it, writing riffs on it ..James later said this was how we got into the ktulu vibe. Cliff wrote alot of there riffs on that acoustic in crazy tuning which they would put back then in standard tuning.. cept for the thing that.... That was played a whole step down. There's only a few songs they did in full step down
