Telehealth is an emerging change in healthcare. I used it as patient this week and found it worthwhile and has advantages. Since our channel is about living intentionally and using our nomadic lifestyle as a backdrop, telehealth is an interesting topic. Being able to receive care as we travel through the country and not rotating back to our home state is very powerful. Thank you for making the video and helping your colleagues.

Thanks for the comment Don. Telehealth providers are restricted to providing service to clients who are physically within the state in which the provider is licensed. That is even if that client is a documented resident of the state that the provider has licensure. That is a Federal mandate, but hopefully they adjust those laws given the current world climate (perhaps a Federal license to cover 50 states).

@@MikeFeldmeierMD Mu use case is a little different. I am not looking for the same doctor to service me remotely, I am looking for a service to support my travel as a nomad. The advantage of services like Teladoc, is as a nomad I can get access to a doctor that is licensed in the state I am located in. I think this is a better solution than going to an urgent care location in a state away from my domicile. At least with a telehealth service, my medical history should be available. Thank you again for your reply.

Teladoc and others are a great option and alternative to waiting at an ER. Especially for quick issues that pop up. Safe travels!

Which mic and or headsets do you recommend Dr. Mike?

Hey Brian! Nice to hear from you. I use a Blue Yeti Mic, and Bose QC45 headphones (its what I already had). I use a Dell XPS laptop with it's built in webcam, most of the time. For Lighting I use a Neewer light box on a tripod.

Interesting video. I still have reservations about tele-mental health services, but it's more out of concerns for the patients. Given the current state in which we are living, I am more inclined to be in favor of supportive therapy versus intense trauma work. I can't help but be curious, though.

I was surprised how many people are open to it. It does create somewhat of a barrier - some patients tend to open up with the barrier there. CBT is a bit tougher as I'm used to seeing a patients notes.
