Today we limit break Thousand Edge, one of the oldest weapons in the game, and test it out on the newest and toughest stage this game has to offer, while also playing on Inverse Mode, which triples enemies HP. But to my own surprise, the weapon is not just good, but absolutely amazing.

@@DANIELis74Dunno if it's huge. Nothing was added other than coop and some coop items. Maybe some bug fixes and performance fixes as well. Switch version just released so it coincides.
This weapon has always been this crazy with limit break. The reason why you get so much area is because you don't get any pierce because of the arcana. It's one of my favorite weapons, it's amazing for shredding enemies.
Well... the numbers could've been tweaked a bit, but I've had similar sized weapons when doing limit break in the old engine, so it doesn't seem strange at least.
9 times out of 10 Dex’s deaths are caused by him refusing to spin around to damage every enemy or being too lazy to move… which is just so funny 😂
He was sitting there talking about moving his character around in a circle like it was a flight of a thousand stairs. Too much work! To move his thumb around in a small circle for 30 minutes.

I was experimenting with the arcana that increase the size of the hit area, the speed of the projectile and the duration of the effect to learn more about weapons.
The effect duration arcana is useless and should never be chosen.
The projectile speed arcana is very good with specific weapons that benefit from the projectile traveling faster since in 1 second an enemy can take damage from multiple projectiles at once. It does not work with all weapons as most do not take advantage of projectile speed.
The hit area size arcana is the best and applies to almost all weapons. If you know how to get more experience in less time the hit area becomes gigantic, as seen in the Dex videos.
There is already an existing spreadsheet with ALL of the information on what affects what. LOL
@@danielduncan6806 It is one thing to see a guide and another to try it for yourself, it is much more satisfying if you discover it that way.
@@danielduncan6806 It's still fun to experiment and experience the game yourself. I do agree that writing a TH-cam comment about it is probably unnecessary though. Even if this was the first time it was found, it would simply be better to write about it on the wiki.
Hello Dex, i've been watching for some time and i'm having issues with the new update they made. My game have like a 80% chance to crash when i reach min 30, i've been testing if i had too much weapons and tried changing the settings in vein. Tried to look online but didn't found the problem i have, thought i might try with the man who have an habit of breaking the game. Thanks

There's no bug. Thousand Edge crits at 300% with slash and only with slash. Slash unlocks the crit, the 300% isn't the 'base' value.
>Selecting Slash (XVI) Arcana allows Thousand Edge to critical hit. Thousand Edge's critical hits deal 6x damage and have 30% chance to occur. This chance is affected by Luck.
This could have been changed, but its not how the weapons used to work and the wiki still states the old values for that reason too. Crits are always on the weapons, but they are either enabled or not. Some weapons crit on their own, while others dont. But all weapons have a crit multiplier, at one point even some that simply can't crit ever.

this may be a stupid question, but cant like modders try to make something like where experience and other consumables go above the weapons? that way a weapon cannot block your sightline
There’s a mod that does that with red gems and items, just not with all of the gems. Dex has used it in the past.

Knife was bad? I always thought it was great fully upgraded or evolved. Good focused dps making it excellent for taking care of bosses.
without the bouncing Arcana, it's absolutely terrible.
@@Yoruharu Far from. Maybe it is later in the game, but it's your best single target dps option in the starting hours and still pretty decent until fairly late.

i wouldn't say knife is the worse, but it's the definitely low-bottom tier without the help of the arcana.

@@Yoruharu Definitely not early game for single target dps. And it's a good option until you get some of the better things. And unlike garlic knife is actually usable later while garlic becomes completely useless.

Grab the collectible in Cappella Magna, ( survive 30 minutes first ).
I believe it's an _event_ in Capella Magna; said event begins in Moongolow.
I don't want to get into specifics for fear of spoiling that bit for you, the event is worth seeing blind!
You can also put in the spell “ICanHearTheCriesOfCaptainPlanet” (No capitals, only there to help distinguish the words)
and what about the speed up arcana
It is possible to use that arcana with this weapon but it is better to increase the area of impact since the projectile always goes forward in one direction. With the magic wand if you get better results by increasing the speed because it goes directly to the enemy.

yo dex whats ur opinion on the devs absolutely destroying mass egg bulk? i mean yeah you can max buy eggs and it doesnt lag at all anymore, but you cant buy only a few thpusand eggs pretty easily... you can only buy like 10 a sec wich is so annoying
I dont think that was intentionally done assuming thats true, and probably rather a side effect that wasn't tested because its quite a niche case. The only bulk buy option was modding the game before, else you'd use an autoclicker to do it. What I actually think would be best would be an option that allows you to buy different values of eggs. Like just a text box or calculator style of input and let people choose. I never understood why someone has to click 5000 times to unlock mass buys, same for why egg reduction only exists at certain amounts.
