Good and simple explanation of the digifan system and how to check it. Also for my oldtime VW T4 multivan 2.5 petrol (1995) running on LPG nowdays in 2024.
Um, actually no. 1991 California carat had a hybrid digi1/2 system that could store 7 fail codes and had a CEL. You’d jumper some pins under the shift boot and it would flash a sequence of CEL lights that can be deciphered in the Bentley manual. I have one. It works.
It's far easier for me to diagnose my digifant than the later technogarbage obd2 models that I can't even find a proper tool for. "its made for this tool, no actually that, no actually download this app with paid features, no actually this is the factory tool, pls pay 2000$ in yearly license". I'm fine with a digifant.
Thank you for posting this - 💪

Thanks for the overall view …
A big thank you !
Ten years ago I replaced my original 1.9L engine in my 1984 Vanagon with a 2.1L engine and retained the Digijet system. Still going strong.
Ewww Digifart. 80s fuel injection with no self diagnosis capability or sanity checking for any of the sensor inputs. Absolutely diabolical.
Its a 40 year old ECU lol, what do you expect? Sony walkman cassette player era.

@@kw2519 do you know how to adjust the tps sensor under the throttle body? I need to adjust. I have a 1991 Jetta carat model.
