- Former US President Barack Obama criticised Israel’s attacks on Gaza that have resulted in the death and displacement of thousands of Palestinians and warned of an “even greater humanitarian crisis” during his speech at the Obama Foundation Democracy Forum in Chicago on 3 November.
Obama also highlighted the “decades of failure” in achieving what he described as a “durable peace” and said that peace between Israelis and Palestinians must be “based on an end of occupation.”
