Reminds me of a gun 'buy back' that happened when I was in college (late 80's). They were offering $300 for 'assault rifles'. I went to a gun show and bought two junk ( parts only) SKSs for $75 each. Traded them in a bought a Rem 870 AND a new hunting rifle.

I had heard a story about a gun buyback. Old lady came up with a gun her husband had gotten in WW2. She gets up to the head of the line. Luckily for her the cop that was there to look the guns over was well versed in firearms. Her husband had brought home a STG44. It sat in the back of a closet since he got back from the war. She was going to trade it in for a 100 dollar gift card to some grocery store. The cop pulled her aside and told her that that gun was worth a hell of a lot more than what she was going to get from the buy back. I am pretty sure he got her in touch with the right people and she sold it to them.

Yeah, occifer friendly, like they told us when we were kids........DOES NOT EXIST. They're animals.
This buy-back is a prime example. 1. They are ineffectual at reducing crime; 2. it's widely known that they only buy back useless, non-functional firearms and NOT the ones the black gangbangers are using to kill everyone; 3. they prevent honest, law-abiding citizens from acquiring the means to defend themselves while still serving the same (useless) purpose the government is trying to accomplish; 4. they an utter WASTE of taxpayer dollars.

Glad I came across your video. Reminded me of our gun buyback here in Australia some 30yrs ago. We just had the biggest massacre and the government implemented a buy back where we just went to our local police station and got paid more for our guns than we actually paid for them new. It was such a weird experience walking into a police station with shotguns and all the police were calm. I only handed 1 shotgun in (Mossberg 500) and kept a few rifles I had. There was no real register etc at the time so they was no way of tracking who had them so I wasn't going to give those ones up. The only thing was that the law was changed at that time so if you ever got caught with them down the track you would be in serious trouble. Over the years they have gun amnesty's where you can hand any guns in you still have with no questions asked. Every since then only the criminals had guns and still do.

Gun buybacks are awesome events for those who know how to play it. In Seattle back around 2010 it turned into an open air bazaar. Tons of people in the alleyways and streets surrounding the venue were buying, selling and trading. I've seen this (gun buyback) before... in Brazil. We were nowhere close to gun right or ownership as Americans, but after disarmamentist laws and gun buybacks here in Brazil, crime with (illegal) guns skyrocketed.
