Good work sir! The bird gets a nice meal and a friend, and you get a fun experience and a friend! Win-win! That bird was REALLY gentle with you, so, he/she clearly likes you.
my god i click on this video because i read the name as a snake name so i was waiting for the snake to fall down from a tree but when the video end i read title the i understand now that it actually was a bird name, great video thought!
Where we are many birds will allow hand feeding. Chickadees, nut hatches, downy woodpeckers, are all birds I have hand fed. Janine my wife had a pleasant surprise when a couple bluejays approached her. They are usually not quick to trust. Chickadees, and nut hatches seem most willing. Sunflower seeds seem to be a food of choice. Bluejays also seem to like peanuts, and cat kibble, along with sunflower seeds.
The Cosmic Outlaw I really love them. It seems I can even feel their emotions occasionally. Sometimes weird things happen and it feels like we can talk with each other. When I was standing in my garden there was some food on the ground nearby that a nuthatch was squabbling over with some chickadees. I didn't like seeing them threatening each other and told them there was lots of food for all of them. I was going to watch over them, and protect them. Please stop fighting. A few seconds later they seemed to calm down, even more when I told them when the food ran out there would be more. At the same time there was a nervous, or anxious chickadee to the side. I told him that he could perch on me, and he would be be safe to watch what was going on. I was totally delighted when a few seconds later he flew over and perched on my left arm, for about a minute. He just watched, and a minute later he flew down, got a sunflower seed and flew off. I just stood for some time standing totally still, grinning from ear to ear. That is my favourite bird adventure. I am pretty sure after watching your video you have had some of your own. Thanks for posting your videos, I always am thrilled when others share their nature adventures. 😀
I feed magpies but the kookaburras only occasionally visit. The one that dropped in today had a mouse in his beak that he bashed on a tree branch about 20 times before he swallowed it . He had caught it in the wild part of our backyard.
@@NELCARM the fact they can catch and kill some of our deadly snakes is insane I'm assuming they catch the deadly snakes as they definitely like a snake for a snack do U know if they actually catch our deadly ones?
@@seanbayley7452 They catch small snakes ,(thick as your finger)I have never known them to catch big ones. I have seen video of them pulling non venomous snakes out of holes in brick fences. This wet year I have seen them eating some pretty big frogs.
These guys are easy to tame, if U feed them mince or any meat they will soon enough land close by and before U know it they will be eating out of your hand and landing on you, from a first feed to hand feeding can take as little as a week.
That mid air catch, damn, skilled boy
