I made him fight at my side again, made him assault leader and it was so funny hearing him blabbering "it's your fort, never wanted it, keep it" during the initial cutscene and subsequenntial fight
@@JohnyMiko facts talion trust ratbag rather than bruz because in the first game ratbag helps talion to find warchiefs and talion helps ratbag find ranger and also ratbag doesn’t backstabbed talion in the end they formed a friendship between talion and ratbag. Its sad tbh in the true ending of SOW all the orcs died and also ratbag.
Considering he's basically just a tutorial character, Bruz is actually pretty well written, to the point where his betrayal and subsequent descent into madness feels genuinely tragic.
Thanks for sharing. Imo hes well written until he decided to betray Talion, from there his character becomes unnecessity and sorta irrelevant so imo hes better off staying good guy than betraying Talion.
Bruz was such a nice personality shift with Talion being a bit of a hard ass Sucks he decided to bring the shaming on himself Like bro, I would have let you have the next one

Just abit maybe? Could have changed the whole situation much more difference then the actual ending (now)
Do you people not think it would take a rough hard ass to be the only man in an evil land filled with legions of bad ass orcs. And not only that but rule over them and gain their respect. I would hope that he is rough. Orcs only understand or follow fear, great power, and death which is why they are so obedient to Sauron.
I'm a firm believer that loyalty should be rewarded. Before we even stormed the fort, I wanted Bruz as my overlord. However, a certain company with it's bad story telling and firm as steel railroad tracks, I, like everyone else, was forced to pick a random npc with little to no background to be overlord. Like seriously, it took me ages to pick one before I finally said fuck it and chose one. They were building a relationship between Talion and Bruz only to pull a George R.R. Martin and tear the whole thing down. It's no wonder Bruz betrayed Talion. He was a complete ass to Bruz when Bruz did nothing but guide him, provide tips and tricks, and generally be a good buddy. If I was treated like shit after helping this asshole out, I'd have just left. Bruz took it a step further because...reasons? I guess they were really stretching the "don't trust an orc" thing. Bruz deserved the fort. Why set us up for failure like that and force us to pick someone else when it's absolutely clear who everyone will want to pick?
I didn't want to pick Bruz myself. I had an archer named Muzu the pinch who had grown up from level 12 and killed both Warchiefs for me. I felt it was only right the guy who took 30 hits from an Olog without flinching at all would be supreme dictator. (Seriously though, there was an Olog wailing on the bastard and he just kept firing at his target, I don't even know if he knew there was an Olog at all.) My own experience beside, I disagree with you. I feel the point of "never trust an orc" as yo usaid was established very powerfully with Bruz's betrayal. Bruz was intentionally made likeable as hell so when he (literally) stabbed you in the back it'd have an emotional impact. It also taught the player a lesson that even an Uruk or Olog that they really bloody like can easily turn on a dime and betray you without a second thought.
It's not like you can really use your overlords that much anyway. I'd rather bruz than one of the captains I worked hard to brand become a useless ally
@@xenodragon2135 I guess he wasnt thinking about betraying the player until talion acted like such a dick, not only denying the forth he helps A LOT to take and becoming more severe and bossy with him. Bruz always had a friend-based relation with the ranger but then talion becomes mean to him.

You can actually see him defending your fort during “The Best Defense” His title is Ranger the Vicious and he’s a beast master yet he doesn’t have any class traits
I unintentionally killed Bruz after shaming him twice with a stealth attack. I was disappointed at the time that I let him off so easily. Much, much later towards the end of the game I was fighting Zog, the necromancer, and I discovered he took many of my long since-dead enemies and turned them into zombies, Bruz, being one of them. His face was contorted in steel from his death, and all he could muster were some strangled moans. I severed his head from his neck to finally put him to rest.
Earlier today I attempted to recruit deranged Bruz and.... well the situation didn't go my way and he ended up killing me. This was the first time he killed me since he stabbed me in the back and took the fort. He immediatly ranked up to legendary then killed Gorgoroths overlord. So I attack the fort and there's just this troll yelling at me that I can have the fort in his speech and all through out the fight in his thrown room. punny sans seeing as how Celebrimbor has fought Sauron for thousands of years and be orcs it would definitely be believable that Celebrimbor knows black speech.
Man that line about optimism was pretty matter-of-fact. Guy looked at an opponent that was 4x his weight in muscle with twice the reach and enough intelligence to think about optimism of all things and was just like "I can take him."
Thanks for sharing. Well, optimism is the way of life afterall. Moreover this is just a mere fantasy. Btw, even if realistically your foe is many times bigger/taller than you that doesn't mean you can't pertain the slightest hope/optimism of against the stacking odds.😏
Reaper Brothers rangerboi be like "ash naz krimpatul omegalazor bla" translates "me is boss", ratbag is like oh yaya you'r right (ratbag've yet to master this black speech so he got no idea what's that shrakh). Then Bruz be like yea me gone stab talian's back and I'm smurt muahahaha Talion: sigh...
I shamed my bruz to level one. Had him kill me 3 times to raise his level he took over the local fort I conquered the fort and recruit ed him no we he is an epic level 45 legendary fiery and is and overlord just because of what he says, he is eternaly depressed now.
If you think about it, branding him again is still torturing him. Forcing him to join the army that ruined him. That's why I branded him. It's torture.
Oh come on, he was sorry too! He was crying! Why can't you just take mercy on the poor guy? I just wanna give him a hug like "C'mere big guy, it's alright." You will pay for your sins, ikiga!
Can't agree more mate! I can understand why people got pissed off on how I punished my Bruz but this is literally life in Mordor, you can only trust yourself (from Talion's & realistic stand point)!
İngilizce Evreni it's probably intentional. Like, the game devs told his VA to make it sound like fault..... If so, that's friggin brilliant and cruel. If it's a coincidence, it's still brilliant.
I think Talion being an asshole is what broke his hold over Bruź, all he did was help and never got any recognition so its no wonder his mind broke free. ACT 3 and 4 were pretty rushed tbh it was all competitive and significantly harder because all the rogue captains were way higher than before the Bright Lord mission, and you have to work your ass off for a short clip detailing the rest of Talions life, it was good but could have had more. And lastly sgame on Celebrimbor fucking bastard leaves you to die and ends up trapped with sauron in the eye
The likelier reason why Bruz "broke free" is that he was never under your influence and was playing you from the start. The player can only convert orcs that are the same or lower lv as themselves. When Bruz is converted, he is ment to be a way higher lv then what the player is actually at, which is a hint to his actual motives. He was hoping to gain power by exploiting the Player. When the Player turns him over for Overlord, he betrays them.
I love how, when you REALLY pay attention to Bruz's lines, it becomes quite clear he was never fully controlled by Celebrimbor. Shaming him is also brutal.
Brutal? Nah *Bruz is fine* *Bruz is better than ever!* *Good old Bruz good old Bruz!* *Oh heyyy this is Bruuzzz* *Did I see you before?* *It's your fort take the fort* 🤪
Im 90% sure Bruz would have still betrayed us even if we gave him the fort. Cuz he would probably gathered and overthrown us much faster and with more of his allies
Such a shame the developers forced us to go in this direction with Bruz, I know they wanted this storyline to play out, but they could have given the player a choice to keep Bruz happy and make him an Overlord or set this whole thing in motion by not. It was pretty major character to destroy just to introduce the shaming/deranged mechanic, they could have even had Talion choose whether or not to Shame/Derange Bruz or another Orc as an example to make him fall into line at the end of the betrayal storyline, it would have set up a bit of conflict between Celebrimbor and Talion too, foreshadowing what happens later in the game. He was the funniest, most intelligent orc in the entire game, such a poor way to end his story.
Oh you get it, my exact feeling when I learned that he betrays doesn't matter how we play the game since his pretty shaped character in the beginning will get ruined anyway during the mid game thus I can't careless in the end by shaming and ending his life
Thanks for sharing. From my perspective I don't see that really as it merely implying both of erm sharing 1 body tho the end sorted ruined the concept when Celeb joining Sauron in the Eye whichs bs. IMO 😅🖖🏻
10:33 I agree so much especially since the night before I played that scene I was saying that I love bruz and how he is funny and then he just stabs me in the back, my reaction to that was mouth hitting the floor and "no. No. NO! Bruz no no no no no how could you! Then I was basically acting like anikan when getting burned alive on mustaphar
Thanks for sharing. IKR!! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Some folks still have the audacity to say Talion got what he deserved on his bad treatment on allied orc and I was like WUTTTT?!??! I don't see any problem Talion's way of treating his orc ally, you don't expect him to show erm love and care like they were good friend or family. To begin with Bruz was calculated and full of greed PLUS being short sighted I mean if he would have being loyal for a while longer he would gain more than just a tiny forth (looking at Akoth the Dead Slayer & Ratbag)
I felt so bad shaming him and making him deranged. He was one of the best characters but now that he’s deranged all he ever says is “I don’t want the fort”
Same mate! Was hoping he stood by Talion till the end they as repay he make both Bruz & Ratbag an overlord but too bad Bruz just can wait no longer to sit on the throne but we still have good guy Ratbay which is good I guess.
Thanks for sharing. If you're into LOTR and don't mind fabricated/not cannon LOTR story *AND you like orc (just like I do)* then this game deserves your attention. Back to the topic, Bruz is a damn fine character to begin until his betrayal...Man oh man how I turn from loving him to hating him in a twist 😅
Bruz is by far my favorite character. I got so upset that I couldn’t make him Overlord and that he had to betray me (I honestly felt a little cheated). After I made Bruz deranged, I found him again, recruited him, put him on my siege team, and made him Overlord. He deserves so much more, honestly.
I can understand your point of view my friend. I like Bruz and I think he deserved better but his greed to become overlord got over him and he was too fast to betray, don't get me wrong I still like him but I think the dev should give him more depth like maybe make him betray during a very crucial part of the game instead for the sake of one "insignificant" fortress. That's just my opinion :)
After I shamed Brùz I found and dominated him. On the last mission he sadly died, but when I got undying loyalty ability I resurrected him, I'm soon going to make him overlord just to rub salt in the wound
This game is huge! I never realized just how big it is it's got to be one of the biggest I've seen in terms of the amount of characters and personalities you come across..
Hey mate, yea and it's all thanks to the nemesis system as it's huge database helps to generate random orc with random personalities. After 195+ hours in I'm still continue to be amazed on how many orc I have yet to met with
I was the same way when I got bruz I was like "this guy is awesome I want him to be my overlord" then when the betrayal all I said was "why, treated you like my own son and this is how you repay me" I was so sad to see him go and like they always say "the grow up so fast"
"I always said you were an optimist. You know what that is, mate? It's about sizing up a situation that's bloody impossible and saying: 'Yeah, alright! I'll have a go!' I'm exactly the same way." Well, that explains why he thought betraying a practically immortal man was a good idea.
When i Did this i just went for shame. When bruz was down to level 12 and shamed him again i got to meet bruz family members. Two level 50 ologs that couldnt be tamed. Nice touch from the developers :)
The auld Australian Orc Brúz, I absolutely loved him. I got so sad you had to shame him and make him deranged. I was gonna recruit him back after the shaming if he wasn't deranged, but I just put him out of his misery in the end.
Thanks for sharing. I'm glad to hear that you appreciate the distinct personality of Bruz and his crew in Shadow of War. Their unapologetically Australian accents and mannerisms indeed add a unique charm to their characters. It's always great when game characters are imbued with such depth and individuality, as it makes the gaming experience much more immersive and enjoyable 😁
Bruz and ratbag are the best, especially if you can get them both as body gaurds (takes some cheating if you want it quickly) and if you get Bruz after he betrays you, without shaming him even once, some of his dialogue is real good fun
He's in charge of one of my forts. Imagine, being deranged about not wanting a fort, after wanting a fort, and then getting what you wanted after all that, and not wanting it... Hess also kicking arse online.
I would’ve loved to do something like this, but he went and got murdered by a caragor. I would’ve been able to bring him back, but he was resurrected during the Carnan quests so sadly he is lost.
I LOVED BRUZ!! From the first time I "Suffer me now'd" him and his personality came through, I fell in love with his character. BUT, when I played this game a second time, I realized that Bruz, while a lovable character, played us from the start. They made his character's personality outweigh his plan for the fortress. And that was the first thing that he mentioned as a plan for Talion. Plus, when he was "taken" controlled of, I'm sure his mind was already Iron Willed. He basically shrugged it off and played the part. Overall, a very well developed character, and I had hoped that they kept him smart as hell instead of his ending, which was sad tbh... ugh, this game and its DLC were amazing. Especially playing the desert DLC as a normal human.
Thanks for sharing. One can never dislike Bruz in the beginning except when he starts to betray for a lil fortress that got me angry! If he follows Talion long enough he could get more than just a fortress but that's just my thinking. I'm with you as I hope he regrets or some sort instead of completely broken in the end.

The One Ring allows you to understand Black Speech. Maybe the new one does too?
I wish we had a way to “un-derange” orcs in the future.
One can hope :)
7:13 i like how the camera pans up at Bruz forshadowing him going to betray Talion
Ikr. A couple of times, he had this strange smirk on his face that could be seen from miles away when he had something up his sleeve.
Yea I bet he was thinking “ this fort will be mine ratbag one way or another”
Ratbag be like save me all the trouble, it's your fort take that damn fort! 😂
But Ratbag is like “ no not you Bruze I know what you did ranger can choose you else just not you” ranger be like “ I was the overlord dud”
Reaper Brothers rangerboi be like "ash naz krimpatul omegalazor bla" translates "me is boss", ratbag is like oh yaya you'r right (ratbag've yet to master this black speech so he got no idea what's that shrakh). Then Bruz be like yea me gone stab talian's back and I'm smurt muahahaha
Talion: sigh...
I shamed my bruz to level one. Had him kill me 3 times to raise his level he took over the local fort I conquered the fort and recruit ed him no we he is an epic level 45 legendary fiery and is and overlord just because of what he says, he is eternaly depressed now.
I'm still disappointed we never got any DLC or anything explaining what it is Bruz did to make both Az and Ratbag hate him so much.
I almost forget their conflict! Thanks for reminding and yes what a wasted potential hmm
your a cruel one mr grinch
Thanks for the compliment mate ;D
Well...I can understand Brûz.
It's Talion's own fault for not giving the Fortress to him.
So if a coach doesn't give u a starting spot on the team u gonna kill him😂😂
If you think about it, branding him again is still torturing him. Forcing him to join the army that ruined him.
That's why I branded him. It's torture.
Have him as living torment is another kind of torturing, I agree.
Oh come on, he was sorry too! He was crying! Why can't you just take mercy on the poor guy? I just wanna give him a hug like "C'mere big guy, it's alright." You will pay for your sins, ikiga!
As much as i loved bruz the game taught you a lesson:No matter how much you like that orc...he CAN betray you for a random reason.
Can't agree more mate! I can understand why people got pissed off on how I punished my Bruz but this is literally life in Mordor, you can only trust yourself (from Talion's & realistic stand point)!
@@ikigaofficial Well in a point of the game Bruz tells you you are a fool if you trust in an orc
@@lucianoromanlarrocca7023 indeed
I can only hear "It's your fault...."
yea i am special lol....
Mutual feeling mate!
True, the way he says fort looks like fault when you listen over and over
Matt Jinn omg I can hear it!!!
İngilizce Evreni it's probably intentional. Like, the game devs told his VA to make it sound like fault.....
If so, that's friggin brilliant and cruel. If it's a coincidence, it's still brilliant.
I always loved the fact that he shows up from outta nowhere to give you advice. And the stuff he said was pretty funny too
*Well mate, excellent mate*
- Bruz, 2017
But I want the fort
THEN YOU DESERVED TO BE SHAMED!
ikiga uauauauauargh
I don't want the fort you can have the fort just keep the bloody fooort
YOU CANT HANDLE THE FORT
i need only your strongest forts , im going to a battle
I NEVER WANTED THE FORT JUST TAKE THE BLOODY FORT :(
I think Talion being an asshole is what broke his hold over Bruź, all he did was help and never got any recognition so its no wonder his mind broke free.
Brutal? Nah
*Bruz is fine*
*Bruz is better than ever!*
*Good old Bruz good old Bruz!*
*Oh heyyy this is Bruuzzz*
*Did I see you before?*
*It's your fort take the fort* 🤪
Am I the only one who feels trully sorry for him.
No
Oohhh no you ain't
no i do too
Frozen Lizard as the bright lord once said.....
No
Im 90% sure Bruz would have still betrayed us even if we gave him the fort. Cuz he would probably gathered and overthrown us much faster and with more of his allies
Torz knows and Torz gets it!
@@ikigaofficial FLIIIIIINT!!!!!!!!!
Oh you get it, my exact feeling when I learned that he betrays doesn't matter how we play the game since his pretty shaped character in the beginning will get ruined anyway during the mid game thus I can't careless in the end by shaming and ending his life
it extra sucks considering you can get shaming as soon as you meet an orc higher level then you
Just realise that Bruz Foreshadows the ending of the game when he says “bright lord, dark lord is there really a difference”
Thanks for sharing. From my perspective I don't see that really as it merely implying both of erm sharing 1 body tho the end sorted ruined the concept when Celeb joining Sauron in the Eye whichs bs. IMO 😅🖖🏻
Anyone think Bruz is like Bruce from finding Nemo
Almighty Higuera yes!
Almighty Higuera pretty much
pretty sure it is even the same voice actor lol
Not done watching video but so far I love ratbag he’s like able
Thanks for sharing. No one can dislike ratbag really 😁👍🏻
I love my boy Bruz even though he's kind of a shrakhhead. Made him by bodyguard afterwards. 😀
Bruz: attacks you out of nowhere
Also bruz: I don’t want the fort just keep the fort
Talion:
*Make up your freaking mind!*
*Oppsie*
10:33 I agree so much especially since the night before I played that scene I was saying that I love bruz and how he is funny and then he just stabs me in the back, my reaction to that was mouth hitting the floor and "no. No. NO! Bruz no no no no no how could you! Then I was basically acting like anikan when getting burned alive on mustaphar
Thanks for sharing. IKR!! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Some folks still have the audacity to say Talion got what he deserved on his bad treatment on allied orc and I was like WUTTTT?!??!
Don't get me wrong Bruz is still hella cool and I like him, I just despite his betrayal in general.
All I hear After Brûz betrayed the Bright Lord: *"ITS YOUR FORT ALRIGHT? YOUR FORT!!!"*
Also Bruz:
Hi, this is Bruz. Bruz is fine. Bruz is better than ever~
Bruz became Jon Snow
"I don't want it, I never wanted it!"
Lol! Just
Just can't disagree!
I felt so bad shaming him and making him deranged. He was one of the best characters but now that he’s deranged all he ever says is “I don’t want the fort”
I love Brûz as a character, he's oddly unique
I had such high hopes for him
Same mate! Was hoping he stood by Talion till the end they as repay he make both Bruz & Ratbag an overlord but too bad Bruz just can wait no longer to sit on the throne but we still have good guy Ratbay which is good I guess.
I felt so bad for bruz no lies
It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve beat this game and watching this video wants me to go back and replay it so I am
Thanks for sharing. Indeed time flies. Actually, from comments I've gathered the player base is still pretty active 😁
Brūz: it's your fort.
Baz: Brūz is fine.
Gaz: You know me. I'm Brūz.....
Daz: Crazy-Maker!!
*Hi~ Bruz is fine as ever*
Never played this game but already like the character. just saw the bruce twist I expected it but damn, what a twist!
Nice video 👌👌
😁👍🏻
It would've been cool if they called him Bruz the Fort Denier after you shame him
After I shamed Brùz I found and dominated him. On the last mission he sadly died, but when I got undying loyalty ability I resurrected him, I'm soon going to make him overlord just to rub salt in the wound
Why is it pronounced "BER RUZE" by Celery man when everyone else just says "Bruz"
That's elves for you. Right bunch of snobby cunts, the lot of them.
This game is huge! I never realized just how big it is it's got to be one of the biggest I've seen in terms of the amount of characters and personalities you come across..
Hey mate, yea and it's all thanks to the nemesis system as it's huge database helps to generate random orc with random personalities. After 195+ hours in I'm still continue to be amazed on how many orc I have yet to met with
Girls be like when you are
Poor :- 0:42
Rich :- 1:09
🤭😅
I was the same way when I got bruz I was like "this guy is awesome I want him to be my overlord" then when the betrayal all I said was "why, treated you like my own son and this is how you repay me" I was so sad to see him go and like they always say "the grow up so fast"
I made my bruz legendary with a training order
"I always said you were an optimist. You know what that is, mate? It's about sizing up a situation that's bloody impossible and saying: 'Yeah, alright! I'll have a go!' I'm exactly the same way."
Well, that explains why he thought betraying a practically immortal man was a good idea.
Ikr. Betraying an immortal for a tiny fort is just silly and short sighted
If I had a dollar for everytime I heard fort I would be rich
Evan Gigliotti If I had a dollar for every time he said fort I'd buy my own fort.
I got Brûz back and made him overlord. Now I have a level 70 Brûz as an overlord
Thanks for sharing.
*Yugi likes*
Ur a cruel one gravewalker
Ranger:"Your a cruel one grave walker"
Talion:YOU CAN TALK!?!?!?!
...
*GOZNERG GOZNERG!*
21:53 Backstabbing a backstabber... what a fitting end
Who doesn't love bruz and shadow of war with little funny shows.
I was legitimately sad when he betrayed me. I remember my heart skipping a beat when he killed talion.
Thanks for sharing. Ikr! I was upset and angry. Mostly angry for his overly short-sighted and greed! 😡😡😡
You are The monster
When i Did this i just went for shame. When bruz was down to level 12 and shamed him again i got to meet bruz family members. Two level 50 ologs that couldnt be tamed. Nice touch from the developers :)
I continued to shame him till the point he was only lvl 1 by then he could barely utter a word it was just grunts
I have connected to brüz on a spiritual level
And I feel so comfortable listening to a fellow Aussie accent
bruz its cool talion sucks
The auld Australian Orc Brúz, I absolutely loved him. I got so sad you had to shame him and make him deranged. I was gonna recruit him back after the shaming if he wasn't deranged, but I just put him out of his misery in the end.
My bruz was decapitated by me, and then brought back my Zog, so he was undead and even more of a pain in the ass
when he pops out of nowhere in the middle of the fight after you barely dominate a captain HE DOESNT DECIDE TO HELP!
I love that little "pop" when he wants to pull those trolls heads off!
😲🤭🤭🤭👍🏻
Bruz and his lads are just so unapologetically Australian, I love them so much, they have so much personality
Your Army at 3:58 really love their Subaru’s cars.
LOL!
Probably fan of wrx sti fan
When Bruz said ‘Define focus’, Talion was like ‘Ah come on, Mate’ 😂
😁🤭🤭
Kick ass game amazing detail in the graphics even for 1080p! :D
15:44 it's the graugs fort
*Ahhh way bigger than I thought!!*
"Now you can have the fort!"
"Should have thought twice on your actions, you fucking shrak!"
You can tell as soon as tallion says "you will do as you are told" he was done with his shrak
He was done with his shrakh and thus a
free backstab to Talion 😅
I felt the same way about Bruz, I wanted him as my overlord too.
I would’ve loved to do something like this, but he went and got murdered by a caragor. I would’ve been able to bring him back, but he was resurrected during the Carnan quests so sadly he is lost.
Bruz was my favourite, so sad what happened.
