  • Did you know that the average woman ✨TEMPORARILY✨ gains more than 2kgs on her period? 🤯⤵️ You’re not gaining weight, it’s your period gal! 😘
It’s so easy to be harder on ourselves around that time of the month... We bloat like crazy, we break out in pimples, we crave all the stuff the media has convinced us is bad for us, we get cramps, we’re emotional as heck & overall just not having a great time...
Leave a ‘😅’ in the comments if you can relate, I know I’m not the only one haha!
That’s exactly why it’s important to remember:
1️⃣ how amazing our bodies are
& 2️⃣ to be kinder to ourselves when that week of the month comes around (sometimes the symptoms can start creeping in earlier too, YAY 😳)
Things that help me feel better when I’m on my ‘ladies’:
✨ resting when I need to rest
✨ giving into my cravings in moderation or reaching for a healthier alternative
✨ spending time with someone who makes me feel at home (if you’re like me, you probably get really sooky at times & need hugs haha)
    ✨ no picking at pimples!!!
✨ no staring in the mirror picking yourself apart! Keep it movin’ sister
✨ exercising, but I usually take it a lil easier than usual
✨ making a list of things you want to do & achieve at the start of each day & work your way through them. Being productive & keeping my mind preoccupied helps me from falling into a more emotional mindset 😂👏🏻

So true. Normalize the pudge. Same with after someone eats a meal. It's not always bloating (SORE PAINFUL GAS), most of the time people just have a larger stomach after food because they JUST literally ate a bowl of food that is now in their stomach LOL Meals do not just vanish away instantly, it has to be broken down.

It makes a lot of sense biologically. The body is literally preparing for a potential pregnancy. It wants to be in the most optimal conditions, which includes cushion for the baby and expansion to have the baby fit. Once it realises it's a false alarm, it just dumps it all and restarts the process. I don't get why people should expect a flat tummy 24/7. Even I, an underweight individual, have bloating. Not from pregnancy nor periods, of course, but from literally having a sandwich or water. It's called ✨ feeding your body ✨

Listen, I’m a gay man and have no idea why this video is on my fyp but lemme tell you: bodies are awesome. And no one but you is looking at your body with the same amount of scrutiny you are, absolutely NO ONE. Bodies change, especially during menstrual cycles. I’m not a girl but I am a med student and I wanna say that every time I see someone, a friend, family member, or a patient in the office where I work feel insecure about their body changing during their menstrual cycle, all I can think is “Damn, I owe my LIFE to someone whose body does this every month. If their body didn’t do that, it wouldn’t have been ready or able to make a baby.” You owe your life to someone whose body does this, and the fact that yours does too is honestly really fucking cool, your body is prepared to 3D print an entirely new human. That’s insane to me, and I understand it on a much deeper level because I have to if I want to become a doctor. So just, talk to your doctor, ask about ways to manage the insecurities, and try to focus on the fact that nothing you do will make your body any less magical. Your body is so cool, I can never learn enough about it, and you have one! You have a body that can create life, you have a body that can double its blood volume and make people. You can make people, because your body does this. So please talk to your doctor about your insecurities, any and all health concerns both physical and mental, and work on strategies with them. Hope this helps!

So one day I got really sick and the dr was administering very strong testosterone injections along with a ton of vitamins. Over a short period of time, something happened and it caused my estrogen to skyrocket and my hormones to get completely out of wack. I was an emotional train wreck and could not figure out why. I would see a billboard or a commercial or even just see children with their families playing and I would be balling my eyes out. It was the most unreal roller coaster ride I’ve ever experienced.. finally I called the Dr and we figured out that I was supposed to be on a special estrogen blocker that they had forgotten to prescribe me. After telling them everything the nurse looked at me and said it’s not fun is it? That’s when it hit me..this is a small little view into what it feels like for some women and it changed my perspective for the rest of my life. I will never forget how it felt and I tell anyone who will listen every chance I get that we have no freaking clue what a woman feels or goes through and that we need to be way more patient and understanding of their feelings. It’s not always logical but you bet your butt it is real and intense. I used to think I was tough now I know it’s my mother and my wife who are the tough ones..they push/go through a lot..

Our bodies fluctuate with our cycles so much so that as a singer we are taught to try to schedule performances around our periods becuase our vocal chords retain water and we will struggle to sing as well/as long slightly before and during our periods. It’s very true and was so validating once I learned that!

Thank you so much ❤ my periods are usually very bad 😞. Last time I was hurting so bad I didn't know what position to take to ease the pain. Did I have to lay down, sit or just walk around? Whatever I did made it so much worse. In addition, the pain even radiated to my legs, which is why I couldn't really walk. So usually when I'm on my period I can't really do anything for a day (or two). However, I am still forced to try to do everything such as work, school and helping with housework. It's insane 😢

@@user-ot7gy2wc1law, try laying on your side with your knees up, almost fetal position, but a little less tight.
Take an Advil,or any NSAID, because that kind is less likely to cause internal bleeding, you shouldn't be in pain, maybe just taking medicine may be what you need to feel a bit better.
wear like period underwear with a nighttime pad (if heavy bleeding), so maybe you can rest through a full night's sleep
Drink water, too, make yourself drink extra water before and during.

We don’t say “thank you for having nuts that can get kicked and be painful so we can have OUR children.” That’s another thing, women don’t have YOUR children. It’s their child too. My abs+SMALLER waist ⌛️ HOURGLASS beginner workout routine 15 minutes no equipment
(The video was posted by OppServe)
I found it was a pretty good workout and while its short it’s pretty difficult at the beginning
Then I’d go on my treadmill for 30 minutes at 12 incline at 3.5 speed.
If you don’t have access to a treadmill or a gym with a treadmill you could always go on a brisk 30+ minute uphill walk that gets your heart rate up. There’s also many other alternatives to that treadmill workout like going for a 20+ minute run. Or just any type of high pace cardio should work.
I did those alternating throughout the week with a rest day on Sunday. Sometimes on Sunday I’d go for a light walk or play volleyball or something but you shouldn’t overdo it on your rest day.
      I hope this helps!!! ❤️🫶

This is amazing to see documented with a smile since I go through it every month with so many tears

I'm heading towards menopause which is another facet we women have to deal with, however I'm so happy to see a woman showing the physical affects of menstruation.

Dude...this made me feel so much better honestly...
I always feel fat af round the 2 weeks between "pms week before" and "week of".
I basically only have 2 weeks a month where i feel "like myself." So thanks for this reminder.
Im still me...its just my body doing what a female body does. Its normal and ok.❤

Love this thank you. I had a friend who said the feeling we get of bloating is just because we feel more sensitive in that area and/or from overeating but that it's not a real change our bodies go through. But for me it's DEFINITELY a real change. Hate when people say crap like that when they don't really know just because they don't go through the same things

Really needed this today. I have a trip in ten days, start my period in four. None of my cute vacation clothes fit right now and I've been so upset.

Im 31 and I grew up always wanting to be a size 0. And I’ve always fluctuated between a size 2-4 but mostly 2.
In my life now I’ve changed my diet for health reasons so no dairy gluten sugar etc no more processed or junk food take outs we only eat at restaurants once a week and I exercise 4 times a week with a trainer.
Ironically, now when I don’t want it I’m close to a size 0 my sizes 2s don’t fit and honestly I wish to gain that weight again hopefully with muscle . Having said that I’m just grateful that I’m healthy and very happy in my life . I respect and honour my body as best I can it’s a gift.
And yes being skinny and having a flat tummy I’m just like this beautiful lady here my stomach juts out too and I have to suck it in sometimes
Sometimes I looked 10 months preggo
My partner is skinny too and he looks pregnant after eating too at times
We are all so beautiful in all shapes and sizes and with beautiful bellies and yet we are so much more that our bodies
Remember the world is designed so that we are unhappy so that we spend billions on changing our appearance and get sick to depend on big pharma
The greatest asset is health and love 🥰

This was brilliant of you. And brave. Well done. And your message is clear and I doubt many people will misunderstand you. You're teaching a great lesson.

I wish people would make things the same for “before and after” like making sure your shorts arent pulled down a lil more for when you show a bloated stomach, because it kind of dramatizes it

Thank you so much for this. It's not talked about enough and it's heavy on mental health when you struggle with your weight and image.
