Prime Minister Marape and MPs celebrate World Environment Day 2024 with tree planting ceremony

  • Prime Minister Hon. James Marape and government MPs commemorated World Environment Day 2024 by planting trees along Independence Boulevard in Port Moresby this morning before proceeding to Parliament. The National Capital District Commission, in collaboration with Governor Hon. Powes Parkop, organised the event.
    Amidst the current political climate, the government united here to honor this important day by planting trees, demonstrating their concern for the future of Papua New Guinea.
    During his speech, Prime Minister Marape encouraged all Papua New Guineans to plant one tree each year and urged logging companies to plant four trees for every tree they cut down.

    Thank you PM JM you are the true example leader in tree planting who humble yourself in all walks of life. As a GOD fearing leader you usually practice Christian leadership in your time of worship. The Nation had admire you on how you control your Emotions during the Wednesday Parliamentary Session on the subject of VONC and other debates. May the GOD Almighty continues to bless your leadership and your government and PNG as you have proclaim to the World that we are black Christian Nation. GOD bless PNG.
