C5 Corvette - Power window regulator/motor replacement - DIY instructions

- This C5 2000 Corvette Hardtop has a problem with the driver side window. It is a low mileage car, but the C5 Corvette is prone to this problem. This video will show you step-by-step how to tear apart the door and replace the power window regulator and motor assembly with a $178 Genuine GM part. This repair applies to all C5 Corvettes made from 1997 thru 2004.
GM Part = 10344131 is for the driver side door.
I am glad GM still sells the part since this is a 21-year-old car.
Tools needed:
T-30 screw driver
Pry tools (prefer plastic panel pry kit) or dull putty knife and screw drivers
Socket wrench
7mm socket
10mm socket
13mm socket
Pliers
Blue painters’ tape
Cloth towels
Such a thorough video. I loved the painters tape idea on lining up the glass. My passenger side window has been acting up for a while. Last night on the way home from NJ it went up maybe 1/4 I’d the way. I was fortunate to get it to close before I washed the car. Whomever is installing My new one, they’re watching this first or they’re NOT doing it.

I had a new part issue with the bolt under the door....a little Yankee engineering corrected that speed bump, lol!

Appreciate the thorough video. My window was stuck up. Followed your vid to get in the door and then found another video explaining how to get the window to roll down to get to the bolts - it said tap on the motor. I did, and the window was back to rolling up and down again! So I put the door back together and called it a day 😄
If it fails in the future though, Ive got the new regulator and motor and this vid 👍

How do you get the window down if the motor is stuck in the up position ?
