    Both are outstanding offerings by Tissot. I just got an anthracite Gentleman and I'm getting a blue PRX as soon as they become availible.

    You can easily find watches in other brands which look similar to the gentlemen but you can't find similar watches for PRX so I would definitely choose PRX

    • @BL-yj2wp
      @BL-yj2wp 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly. The Gentleman is a fine watch, but it's so unremarkable, almost generic looking. The PRX has some character (although I'm not huge a fan of the waffle dial on the automatic).

    The watches have a different movement. The PRX has the ETA C07.111 movement and the Gentleman the ETA C07.811 movement. The C07.111 movement has a synthetic pallet fork and escapement. The C07.811 has, in addition to the silicon balance spring, a normal escapement and pallet fork with jewels (hence the difference of 23 jewels for the PRX and 25 jewels for the Gentleman). The difference in price is presumably merely due to the different movements.

    • @mariobianchi1909
      @mariobianchi1909 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly the Gent sports way superior movement with no plastic escapement plus silicium balance spring.

      where can you find this info? on the tissot website I couldn't find the specific movements they use for each watch.

    • @vvvhhhhhbb
      @vvvhhhhhbb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mariobianchi1909 The differences are so minimal, maybe a difference of $2.00 in production. Your statement of "way better" is completely off. And repairs for the PRX is easier with a simple replacement of the movement (drop in) as needed.

    • @mariobianchi1909
      @mariobianchi1909 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vvvhhhhhbb its not a matter of higher production costs...if you prefer plastic parts in your mechanical movement then it's ok. My idea of mechanical watch is different.

    • @peterdegelaen
      @peterdegelaen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jibreel1580 Tissot does mention the movement on their web page. For the PRX it says 80.111 and for the Gentleman it says 80.811, which correspopnds to ETA movements C07.111 and C07.811 respectively.

    I like the PRX for the looks. It just looks really cool...a great design. I've got the blue waffle dial version and love it. The Gentleman just looks a bit bland and generic, but still nice. Having said that, I like the ability to change straps with the gentleman. Some of ones with a blue dial and black leather strap look great. The versatility is a great point in the gentleman's favour. I may get a leather strap version one day...

    I’m not a fan of integrated bracelets because i really enjoy swapping straps around. I would get bored with it. The PRX sharp edges with the round dial doesn’t really speak to me. I love vintage watches but this one isn’t for me. Although, the waffle dial is amazing.
    My pick is the Gentleman, because it reminds me of the Seamaster Aqua Terra (not the Datejust), which is my dream piece. I can more easily justify the Gentleman’s price as a married father of 3. The Gentleman in a blue dial is most likely my next purchase

    It is just my humble opinion, but I think the Gentlemen have better regulated movements in general, on top of the silicon balance spring. Mine runs +3 secs a day and you can find many reviews here on TH-cam with nearly the same accuracy. The PRXs are inferior in almost every aspect I think. If I had to choose it would be a no brainer to go with the Gentleman.

    Definitely; go for the Gentlemen. The PRX will soon be outdated. I disagree on his comment of highly polished center links in the bracelet: they don’t make it look cheap, they make it look more exclusive. The versatility in the long run will be better compared to the prx. The prx is more of a short hype watch as the more classic design of the gentlemen is timeless.

      Has the AP royal oak gone out of style yet? if yes, why the prices are still increasing? 🤔

    • @meoymeoy9405
      @meoymeoy9405 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jordan-gu3uu That has nothing to do with style/design. A lot of luxury watches have gone up in price. This has to do with availability, production numbers, demand but also inflation. Sure demand is partially a reason, but the question is why demand for luxury watches is higher than ever? Could it be that everyone is seeking a lot of alternatives to inflation hedges? Or are prices just adjusted to inflation and production problems due to covid? The Royal Oak is reasonably timeless, the PRX isn’t.
