Love that sweater, it looks absolutely vintage. Also love the hem detail on the skirt. You've got so many little tips and tricks for us new-to-sewing viewers. Thanks.
Gracie - you are a talented young lady. Your skilled abilities with knitting and sewing warmed my heart. 💜 I too, learned to knit and sew at a young age, as well as crocheting at the age of 8. I also liked the fact you shop at Thift shops. (We call them "Charity Shops" in England) - again, this is a "hobby" I love to do, and can always find a bargain or three when I visit these shops. I am new to your channel, and will subscribe. I look forward to watching all your old and new videos! Lots of love, From a happy viewer in England, UK. 🥰
Well done on you completed knitted sweater! It's such a big endeavour and it's right to celebrate it along with your skirt. 😁 I have more skirt plans and this gives me hope for trying other options than zippers as they are always a sticking point for me.
Good video! My only advice, get better shots of the skirt when finished. I have no idea if I want to make this, because I don't know what it looks like 🤷🏻♀️
Liking fir the cute skirt. Subbing for a knit video for the sweater. I would of loved a demo of the opening and closing of the skirt so we could see the closure in action. Instead of me trying to get a good look when you twirl around.
Maybe I can make a demo on my next skirt video! I wasn't aware that people would be interested in knitting videos, but I could probably make one for my next sweater.
@@GraciePattenSewing I love sweaters and knitting. Yours looks so wonderful. I'm always happier when a video is made because even when people release just the text version there seems to be disparity amongst written lingo. And it takes forever for me to find the right info for it. Videos are the best.
I love A-line skirts, but I never have zippers in the right colour, so this is a great reminder, that you don't necessarily need them C: The cardigan looks great on you! I've been eyeing so many of the Fabelknitwear patterns, I probably should bite the bullet soon xD
I loved your tutorial, just subscribed. Getting back into sewing. Your video didn’t show the bottom of the skirt as I wanted to see what the hemm looked like when finished. Love that sweater/ jumper!
Thanks, glad you liked the video! It's difficult to get a full body shot in the frame of the camera, but I have some images of the hem on my Instagram, @graciesews. Happy sewing!
Just found you, definitely sticking around! I love me some good sewing content, especially of the historical variety. :D Edit: I realize that this isn't a "historical" video, per say, but it is a useful tutorial on one of my favorite skirt types. A-lines are always just so swishy! I just noticed a bunch of the other videos you had.
A-line and round skirts with pockets 🥇 simple, practical, classic, timeless and beautiful .
super easy to style too!
Would have been really good to see the entire skirt though!!!

thank you! Glad you've found them useful!
It is really pretty, is not it? ^^
Haha, I love the snapping to magically swap outfits!! That skirt is so cute and I love seeing closures other than zippers
thank you! the snapping was really fun to film
It's really cute ^^
The skirt is so cute (I both *hate* and kind of fear installing zippers, so I feel ya) and you did a great job with the sweater, too!
thank you!!! zippers are the worst

I appreciate how you showed a different side closure for a skirt. So tired of zippers being the only options shown in today’s sewing patterns.
You look lovely in your new skirt and knitted cardigan. Well done!

thank you! those sound like fun plans
The intro had me straight up chortling! The skirt is lovely and pairs so nicely with your jumper
thank you!
The camera shots are spot on!
thanks!

thank you! A-line skirts are the best :) I highly recommend her patterns as well! I'm gonna knit the "forest berry" sweater next

Thanks, and yay!
You are so creative and young. How long have you been sewing.😊
Your sewing is so pretty! That star fabric looks so nice lining and the snap placket is so smart! Great job on both the skirt and the sweater! :)
thank you! I love how glittery the star fabric is so I'm glad I was able to use it on this
Yay! New sweater!
Try an over sized tunic sweater fine merino wool or cashmere.
If I use a quarter circle skirt pattern, would I use that as a pattern for one panel?
I would do two panels at least so you can have a closure in one side and a pocket in the other!
A very cute skirt, How long is it?
oh it's about knee length! It was difficult to get both my head and the hem in one shot
This video was great! I think I’m only going to use snap pluckers from now on to avoid demonic zippers
thanks! snaps are definitely superior to zippers hahah
Do you have this sweater pattern!?
It's Fabel Knitwear's Juniper cardigan!
👗
I simply do not like zippers, they are frustrating when they get messed up, can break, catch fabric...
agreed!
