A small note on the models "WA35 (WA351) & CA35 (CA351): Both have taken up the topic of space and research. However, it is not the case that it is part 1 and part 2. The WA35 looks at the topic of the space program from a purely military perspective, while the CA35 addresses the space program in the civilian sector. Each of the two pens is thematically independent and yet they are conceptually connected.
Hi Vincenzo! I am not sure that I don't like the CA35 more than the other one! VERY NICE! Might make its way on the future list! Going to watch part 4 of the nib video this weekend! Have a great Christmas Vincenzo!!
Thank you for the review. I love the space theme engravings, having grown up during the "Space Race" between the USA and the USSR. I do enjoy the Hong Dian "bouncy" nibs. It seems they only make them with the #6 size. They should try it with their #8 nib and it would be a standout nib. As far as the feed, I have seen it on their A9 pen. I have read it may be ebonite but that is only a matter of conjecture, much like the MaJohn feeds in their P139 with the #8 nib or the Wing Sung 630 with the 14K nib. Thank you for your review, Vincenzo.
A question: I forgot to ask earlier - are Hong Dian contactable as a company. I have checked and I can't find them. One can only buy from the sellers on the various online companies. I'm trying to find out about the stabilised wood pen. That would be a great addition to my collection. If only they used their own long knife nibs. I have several N series pens with Hong dian long knives, and they are brilliant writers. (For my left hand) I recently bought the Lemon beast pen with a Naginata nib, and it was very disappointing. It would be good to be able to buy direct from Hong dian it would also give us a medium for feedback.
Greetings from Australia. Great review. I was expecting you to compare to the WA35. Which is the better writing experience out of the two? Perhaps I should just buy t h e two pens?😂
I got mine in blue 3 days ago, I really like it but I believe it has too many elements on it. However, the Pooh like engraving was a nice detail. I agree with the other comment, this was Hongdian year for sure, but Jinhao is still on the race, the new colors of the 10 are just glorious, I also received the "Seashore" and it will probably be my favorite pen for a while, I just saw new green and grey colorways too 😎
Great video, merry Christmas,if id had yr address i will send you out a card ,this week new pen my sailor 1911 my jeweler and drive to Phil's hand drop the display case and bent the nib 150.00 to replace the 21kt.frank in Oswego, ill
the motifs on the section seems cartoony in design and suspiciously seems to be from other probable pen model designed to target younger schooling users in primary education age, not listed in any western platforms like Amazon or eBay. the barrel and the cap as well as the nib and feed may have replaced to justify the high price tag. personally... @ that price, i would be scratching my head when the section/grip design isn't that "adult" matching... plain or ribbed.
I’m not sure I totally agree with you. Pen is listed on Amazon. It’s a well-made pen. Yes it’s well ordained and some people may not like that. It’s got a great nib and works really well and I believe it’s a great price but to each his own.
Unfortunately, I've had really bad luck with Hongdian pens. I bought an N23 and a N10 and they both broke within days and I've never had another pen break. Until they broke I was really enjoying them but I think the pens have some QC and design issues.
@@schawo2 The threads on the cap of the N23 were a bit off from the beginning but the cap got stuck on after a day of use and was impossible to remove. The grip section does not extend below the cap at all, even inside the barrel so it was impossible to remove the cap which seems like an oversight in the design. With the N10 the piston assembly just didn't work the second time I went to ink it up. I was within my return timeline with both. I tried replacing the N23 but they sent me the wrong item in return. Both pens were nice until they broke but I'm gentle with my stuff and have never had another pen break so it just makes me a bit wary.
That is a shame to hear, I’ve had no issues with mine but I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for any reports of QC problems. It hasn’t been a great year for that company in terms of volume of pens and I have heard rumours of its upcoming demise. I hope those rumours are false 2023 was a great year for them.

Very interesting information that I missed
@@fountainpentherapy Yes. The WA351 is explicitly a nationalist homage to China as a communist revolutionary military power
A very attractive pen with all the engraving . It’s a well weighted pen at 35 grams and I like that it posts. I have that same feed on my D5 nib.

Thanks for watching
Another great review Vincenzo. May I take this opportunity to wish you a Very Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
Thanks for the review; both of the pen and the ink.
You’re welcome!

Now we are growing up during the "Space Race' between the USA and China.
Hongdian may just be the 2024 Chinese Pen Co of the year?!
Stay tuned. I have a year-end video where I award my pics for the Chinese pen and Chinese pen maker of the year.
@ yes!!!! Loved the 2023 version!
I think it will be between them and Asvine

Thanks for sharing, I've been seeing that new Jinhao 10 everywhere!
I have this feed for the 1866 pen

VINCENZO, did you know that almost 30% of fountain pens caps doesnt seal completly ?
Interesting fact

I also have an M2 which is great and hasn't let me down yet but I'm still wary
How did they break?

That's very bad luck! I've got about a dozen HDs, and have never been less than happy with any of them. 😞
