Hi Sara..Thrilled to have you back again with a new video. It just made my day. And this was a parade of a bevy of beauties. Opening with the Stipula Etruria Faceted Gran Sasso was just the perfect start to the video. You know what a Stipula fanboy I am. I have the same faceted green Etruria with the 0.9 stub nib. I thought you liked your faceted Ambrosia best. I just bought the Etruria faceted ebonite (orange/black LE 13/18), from Novelli two weeks ago. I next want to buy another Santini pen from their online store. I’m very fond of Montegrappa, too. I own a bunch of their upscale pens, including my most expensive pen purchase ever: the Montegrappa Queen: Night at the Opera. The duo you showed here are fantastic, no kidding. Specially the sterling silver one. Good on you to have bought it used at a reduced price. Montegrappa used Bock nibs for a long time, before switching to Jowo a few years ago. But they reportedly tune and tweak these nibs in-house to their own specifications. I hear Montegrappa is soon going to put out gold nibs of their own. That would be ideal. If it happens. I own 2-3 older, classic Deltas (fitted with superb Bock 18k nibs). They have also lately switched to Jowo. It’s why I haven’t bought a new Delta in recent times. The DV pens are true classics and an essential acquisition, to my eyes anyway. Your Delta DV is gorgeous, true to your very fine tastes in pens. Your OMAS pens are absolutely exquisite, to say the least. The ‘new’ OMAS are faux-OMAS. In my opinion, they are basically rebranded, Chinese-made Nahvalur pens with the OMAS name to cash in on the prestige and nostalgia associated with the brand. The two of us ought to live contentedly with our original OMAS pens. ASC seems to have got a bad rap from many commenters on online forums. For their nibs and overall QC. I’m sure you enjoy yours without issues. I love Sailor; especially the KoP. I own three (resin, ebonite and urushi). And I think the nibs are stellar. Your KoP is an exceptional work of art. I was thrown off by seeing your write with your left hand. I actually thought there was something wrong with my phone and screen orientation. I had never seen you nor known that you could write with the left hand. I’m also fond of green inks. I’m in China right now. Arrived here yesterday. Will be back home next week. I’ve rambled as always with this long comment. Many thanks for the video. It was a treat. Stay well! ❤
@@sajjadhusain4146 I feel so rewarded for my videos by your long comments Sajjad. Thank you! The Ambrosia and the Gran Sasso are, in my opinion, pretty much a tie for looks, but I have been appreciating my girthy pens lately and for some reason my Gran Sasso is a little bigger around than my Ambrosia. Novelli is a good company. I hope you enjoy your new pens! Montegrappa’s work in silver is amazing and their nibs have a controlled and cushioned feeling. What is your favorite Santini nib? Another friend voiced his concern about Delta’s switch from Bock to Jowo nibs, but I don’t know if I have a preference. I would like to try those old Bock nibs, but I love the nib my new Delta came with. I am also wary of the new Omas company. It is possible that ASC deserves its bad reputation, but I got lucky and I think my Triangolo will always be my favorite pen. Sailor seems to me to be one of the most artistic of the Asian pen companies in its designs. My collection is up to 128 pens, so choosing 8 favorites was quite difficult. When I first used my left hand for writing, it was really messy, but now it is easier than using my right hand, which I can’t control well anymore. I hope you have a good time in China (I have visited there twice) and get home safely!
@fountainpeninsanity3344 Always cool to watch your videos and to hear you talk about some of your most beautiful and favorite pens. Gosh, 128 is a lot to pick out the greatest 8 from. I have exactly 60 pens - dominated by Aurora, Stipula and Montegrappa. And from Japan - Sailor. I only have three OMAS, three (old) Deltas and two Santinis (a Libra and a faceted Nonagon). They are large pens, well made, good nibs, quite reasonably priced for what you get. Of the Santini pens, I have the Fine and a cursive italic nib. Both are very good, (with pleasant feedback, though); I reckon I prefer the italic. A Japanese brand you could explore is Taccia. Many beautiful pens in attractive resins, ebonite, urushi, maki-e). Nibs made by Sailor (mainly 18k in the premium models). I have three Taccia pens. Sorry to hear about the issues with your right hand. Would some specific therapy help alleviate the pain or movement issues? You did very well with your left hand. Slow, steady, but the writing looked perfect. Anyway, take great care of yourself, and family. And my love to Clovis, too. Will await your next video. Edit: And oh, it’s my first time in China. Alas, it’s a full-on work trip. But I’ll try to sneak in random moments of pleasures around the two cities I’ll be in before I return.
