Please do not choose an undesignated rate. The only reason to select undesignated is if you have a low score, as undesignated personnel do not have a choice in where they go. Do not leave until you have a school contract. Once you get to your ship, if a division is short one person, they will assign you to that position. If you are an E1, you will be stuck in that job until you advance to E4. For example, if you are a Seaman, you will be sent to Deck. Make sure to learn what people in Deck do. In short, secure a school contract before you leave for boot camp.

I have two kids who both left on 9/30 they are both on ship 11 div 390. They graduate on 12/12. I'm so excited for them. They both seem to enjoy it. They love the 3 meals a day like clockwork lol my daughter is a YM. I could hear the transformation in their voices already 🙌🏾 I braided her hair before she left and asked her how’s her hair holding up. She said she met two nice Jamaican girls, and they do each other’s hair every Sunday. I thought that was nice. My son, was a bit shy initially and now I’m hearing he’s opening up a lot. He said the confidence chamber wasn’t so bad. I remember before he left I would send him pictures when he and his siblings were younger and he told me” enough with the pictures mother.” I was a little apprehensive on sending him pictures while in there via the Sandbox App. I asked him if there any pictures he didn’t want? He responded with “Mother you can send me any pictures you want.”lol he requested for me to send him the Maze Runner series. He did say he was tired of people being sick in there. Ohh and when they got their first call my daughter was crying, because she misses home. I told her to tighten up, and don’t let them see you sweat and that I was super proud of her. I was crying in the inside, but I didn’t want her to hear me crying because I didn’t want her to worry about me. The second call was she and my son were very spry 😁

My job was MAA in bootcamp got tested all the time. No one listened to leadership. I tried other ways to communicate in which in the end I had respect from a lot of my peers. Currently in A-School Pensacola graduate on the 31st Halloween.
I remember when I was in boot camp at Great lakes and we were having a locker inspection.An the CC found a small jar of Vaseline which I had purchased at the commissary there on base.Black people use it for our skin, hair and lips, ohhh but the CC called me front and center and screamed at me WHO DO YOU PLAN ON ---- IN HERE and messed with me through out boot camp.I had to have a black chaplain explain to him why i had it.
right now im in the starting process of enlisting into the navy. im super excited and nervous. I'm planning on joining the navy but I'm so nervous and ready at the same time. I keep pushing my ASVAB test back but I’m suppose to take it sometime next week. Honestly its alright to be nervous about this. My best advice is to score your best on the asvab and find the rates best for you and ask about bonuses. The actual bootcamp experience is not hard, right now just focus on setting yourself up for the future for when u do complete bootcamp. My best advice: 1. Don’t volunteer for anything 2. Don’t trust anyone (maybe like 1 or 2 people 3. Stay to yourself 4. Do what you supposed to do And lastly. Bootcamp is a stressful environment. You will most likely always be getting yelled at and making mistakes casually. But the thing is to learn from everything and not take anything to heart.

HM A School is a cakewalk. Study, show up on time, look good, and PT hard. It only gets harder from there but you got it. 🫡
