This is where binos really shine- with one tube open to your fov and one on your reticle, I personally can’t notice much a difference in clarity between my gen2 and exps3-0
its definetly not that bad, i cant tell the difference with NV between the 2, and the refresh rate between the 2 is marginal, 4 hz is the difference and really impossible to tell the difference, the amg has clearer glass and better coatings as well
I loved my Eotech while I was in the Army, but now that I'm older my astigmatism has gotten worse. I went to my local gun shop to purchase the Eotech but when I looked through it all I saw was a big red star burst, They told me to try the UH1 and I'm glad I did almost no star burst. I absolutely love both sights but for someone with eye problems maybe the Vortex is best for you
UPDATE: The polarized coating on my Accutact Anglesight gave me the exact same dark image you got with your UH-1+PVS-14 when rotated in certain orientations.. That darkening effect isn't present when using my WP filmless monocular without the Anglesight.
I have Eotech x 4 (two M4 shotguns, one Scar, one AR). Good Holo sight. Just bought a Vortex Huey with Micro6 Magnifier. Bigger Fan. I use one Green and one White Phosphorus KAC PVS30/ for night. In addition, at night I have moved to Thermal Scopes in use with Phosphorus of different weapons at the same time. Gives us better chance to acquire targets. In my opinion, both types of scopes are more affective than Nods all night every night.
Have both, and the Vortex is my choice every time. Not sure what your deal was with the NV settings, but my PVS-14 shows none of the bloom on the lower settings like yours did. Mine runs flawless with NOD's.
I think a lot of thought has to go into use though. I went with the vortex for three reasons, price, warranty and aesthetics. On my SP5 the EO Tech was far too wide, but the Vortex fit well, a lot slimmer. Also I am NEVER going to use it with NV so it seemed like a much more logical choice.
You know things are serious when you’re running night vision in mom’s basement! Drop the laundry drop the laundry! On the floor n….. oh sorry mom. Didn’t know you were down here 🤣 Appreciate the video and good coverage of both sights!
I have the Vortex AMG UH-1 Gen 2 .. I love it . I have never used an EOTech so I can't actually compare, but I don't see how you can get any better than my Huey, especially for my use (7.5" .300blk)
I have both..Hands down I run faster times using the AMG UH1GEN2 vs EOTech XPS3.. Mainly it's target acquisition time due to the AMG has alot less sidewall to block your view ..I also prefer the triangle point for up close targets over the EOTech..If your running NV go for the EOTech ..it is better at NV clarity..If your the average day shooter especially in summer or winter with a snow background you want the Huey, it's why they put glare treatment on the glass...Do you want fast target acquisition optic with superior down range awareness for a scan and see discipline? Go with the Vortex AMG UH1GEN2..it is better at many things that most people actually use..My only bitch is both are stupid over priced and my next optic with 3X magnifier will be a different brand than either the EOTech or Vortex..
Personally my experience is 4x uh1’s 2 are the gen1 and 2 are gen2 and I have 2 eotech exps3’s. They both seemed nearly identical under nvg. The vortex reticle is actually my preference but, the eotech is just as fast. these two optics holographs are made in the same building… by eotech. Assembled in different locations but the holograph is made by one company. I prefer the vortex warranty. But eotech will rebuild your sight for 75 bucks so… that’s decent I suppose.
eh.. i am somewhat willing to call bullshit. He put the eotech really close to the lense and had the camera focused properly on the reticle, he didn't really bother with the Vortex, kept it far and out of focus, no wonder it was blurry af
The UH-1 is almost certainly not going to be able to give the equivalent night vision performance as the EOTech. The reason is because the reticle hologram in the EOTech is sandwiched between 2 polycarbonate laminates and is directly illuminated by the reference beam. The UH-1 has the reticle hologram facing upwards within the housing. When it is illuminated by the reference beam the reconstructed reticle is integrated into the outside scene by reflecting it off a 2 way mirror to the viewers eye. This part I'm not sure of, it is either a broadband reflection, or rejecting a very narrow bandwidth of visible light, either of which will result in at least a little tint.
My Huey is awesome during the day and during the night without nv personally I don’t own night vision yet so i don’t have a need for night vision and probably won’t for a few years.
@@j.p.4541 it goes through batteries quick. And if you’re ever gonna use night vision you should probably go with eotech. It’s much clearer under nvg Other than that no it’s been great

Yeah, but the question is does the Vortex suffer the same delamination issues as the EOTech? Ive been seeing quite a few posts on forums lately of even newer model eotechs having delamination issues with the glass.
Glass clarity only seems like a luxury until you use night vision. Whole different ballgame there, and its obvious EOtech still reigns king after all these years.

Why do people cry so much about a barely noticeable blue tint that you don’t even notice when you’re shooting?? Especially when it doubles battery life lollll.
Way too much is made out from the words "Made in China"...it doesnt matter where its made so long as proper QC is conducted. China leads the world in many areas of high technology... Little if any QC...
It has nothing to do with "quality control". For most people it comes down to not supporting slave labor and not giving money to a government that is sworn to destroy the United States. Because of their economic system, every dollar that enters China gets touched by the governemnt. Thus every item made in China helps to support and directly fund the Chinese government. Add to this that the government is committing genocide against religious minorities, enforces slave labor - often among children, and is leading an authoritarian campaign across the world to turn countries against the USA and its allies, and all of a sudden people don't mind spending an extra few hundred dollars to stand by their principles a bit and support American jobs. And a not-insignificant amount of it is made by abused 8 years olds, chained to a desk, who haven't seen their parents in weeks because they had their organs harvested after being worked to death in a re-education camp.
