Wow, that is the best outro ever. Gigguk really outdone himself with that one
The jyane from Joey's outro had me dying
This outro is made by the editor
The thing with Chainsaw Man vs Jujutsu Kaisen is that, Jujutsu Kaisen is currently in it's peak arc while Chainsaw Man anime was barely an introduction to the show
Yeah. I think the current opinion of CSM in the anime community would be a LOT different if we had gotten all of Part 1 adapted by this year. It’s like if JJK or DS only had 12 episodes in their first seasons.
There’s a reason why jjk is more popular in Japan then csm. Jjk is a love letter to all shounen fans
This. Imagine if Jujutsu kaisen ended with the junpei arc and never got a continuation. Nobody would be hyping it. It became amazing in its second cour and a masterpiece in shibuya. 46 episodes vs 12... Anyways I love both mangas and I hate the wars between fandoms
I say jjk has more hype than csm
[SPOILER FROM CSM MANGA]
CSM kinda lost its magic for me.. It's been just Denji for a very long time.. Don't get me wrong, I like Denji. But I miss his interactions with the other main characters.. :/
I love Asa Mitaka but I MISS POWER, MAN T.T
Kingdom is amazing and no one seems to know about it when I bring it up to people. My wife and I call the show Skid Horses since the horses are always getting knocked back and skidding away. I've only watched the anime, so my experience is that I started off watching it as a laugh because the animation and dubbing were so bad, and then as the seasons went on and production improved and the story advanced it became one of my favorite shows ever. As good as the show eventually gets, I have fond memories of the complete cluster *&%* that the first season was. They wanted a queen to have a tiger but instead of drawing it they just photoshopped a freaking real tiger into the shot. We were laughing so hard.

The little people who like are actually readers of the manga
I'm anime only kingdom fan haha
Coalition arc was fucking insane top 5 arc of all time
I love kingdom sdo much the art is top tier the story is great and the fights are hype
The crazy thing about Blue Locks numbers are that it's the first time in oricon history that a sports manga has gotten the number 1 in yearly copies sold.
wasnt slam dunk also top at his time?
@Sm0ke821 iirc, slam dunk was number 1 in its final year, but op said oricon history so maybe that wasn't around in 1996

"you don't normally see a comedy and gag manga going above like shonen action shows"

Garnet forgets that series he doesn’t read much can be popular
Yeah gag manga is hugely popular.
The statement still makes sense. Gintama is unique
Spy x family isn't just comedy and gag manga , its have a lot of dark moments
@@kingdoom5022
Gintama was also pretty dark
The “CSM is going to break the internet” hype died down because the anime only got 12 episodes. Most of the stuff manga readers hype up about the series happens like starting right after S1. I definitely think Mappa shot themselves in the foot by putting so much budget into what is considered by most to be the weakest arcs of the manga and only releasing 12 episodes. Most readers I’ve talked to say they weren’t 100% engaged with the series until the Katana Man arc or the next arc. It’s a series that’s definitely enhanced by binging, but Mappa essentially stopped right as it was coming into its own thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot anime-onlies don’t even bother continuing simply because S1 didn’t live up to the impossible hype the series got. Like imagine if people had been hyping up the Shibuya arc only for Mappa to end the season after Gojo gets sealed and say “welp see ya in 2 years folks!”
I’m gonna be biased and say that I think CSM is a better manga, but it’s obvious why JJK overshadowed it considering the anime got way more time in the spotlight and is currently on what many fans consider its peak.
I was animeonly and liked the Katana arc so much that I read all CSM and now I am up to date with CSM 2, but yeah Shibuya arc impacted me more. The best parts of CSM are the last arcs of it that's the problem. I hope people return for the next seasons.
@@rodrigoyzaguirre1180My problem with Shibuya is that, while the fights and abilities are really cool, I just don’t care about the story or cast at all like I did with CSM. It almost feels like how I feel watching Demon Slayer sometimes. Tbf, JJK manga readers are the worst and have spoiled me on like every big twist and moment to the point where I feel like I’ve indirectly read the manga myself at this point. But Nobara’s death just felt so hollow to me. She was barely a character. A lot of the season has felt like characters just getting killed off left and right without me barely even knowing anything about them. CSM does this too, but it’s usually only minor characters, and the story slows down more frequently to let things breathe and settle. SPOILERS FOR CSM, but Aki’s death felt significantly more impactful than anything in Shibuya so far.
Yuji is a more compelling character due to his reactions to the misfortune he faces, while denji's situation is incredibly sad hes also aloof to it compared to yuji's more human/childish reaction to the hardships thats why I have Shibuya over all of the CSM arcs@@Villain_of_Overhype
@@ExrialHDYou can’t have possibly read CSM if you think Denji is aloof or doesn’t feel anything like Yuji does. My man literally said he didn’t want to think anymore, giving up his free will after Aki died and was mentally shutdown after Power died and after Makima revealed her scheme. He’s also been obviously depressed for most of Part 2.
Regardless, a character is not more “compelling” because he reacts to events in a way you would expect him to. How is being a trauma sponge being a compelling character? The only thing I’ve heard is that he continues to get more sidelined in his own series as it goes on. Yes, Yuji is a more likeable and human character than Denji, but that doesn’t make him more interesting or deep.
Lastly, you can’t just say “this arc is better because Yuji gets trauma.” There’s like no correlation there.
@@Villain_of_Overhype tell me if you have read culling game arc
Kingdom literally got me into Chinese history. The Xia, Shang, Western/Eastern Zhao, Warning States (Kingdom Manga here), and then the Quin and Han periods are so interesting. Looking back, it's crazy to think how much I owe this manga.
I’ve been reading dandadan and it’s been so good recently I’ve really been enjoying the story and the art (currently caught up reading weekly, highly recommend)
The mangaka must have like 5-6 assistants , the characters and fight scenes are fking awesome but the detailing on the background is next level. You can literally count how many windows are there in a building.
i just recently picked up 1-5 of dandadan and was expecting it to be overrated but man its so good in a weird way and the art is really good (and am i the only one who reads 100kmph grannys voice in the team rocket meowth voice?)
Ive completely caught up and it really is such a good manga huge shout out to the creators for blending romance, action, comedy, and horror so well together. It’s one of my favorites for sure such a great set of characters and stories

Blue lock manga is actually really good one of the best art in modern manga its a pleasure looking at the manga panels😅😊
Especially the fan colourings, they cook so hard
even though the bluelock manga was carried by the world cup, the manga is still so good the panels are so detailed especially in the u20 arc I just hope they adapt the u20 arc in the anime well next year
i cant lie , till u20 i was in love with blue lock....but since the Neo Egoist league i feel its been on a decline
Why exactly? I am caught up to the Blue lock manga.
@@gyanendherno yeah agreed. cant really explain it but its lost a lot of the excitement for me
@gyanendherno eh I feel like that's largely because of reading weekly it's not has hype as u 20 but it's still great
@@gyanendherno that is beacuse there is not upcoming big games for now wait till this arc ends blue lock author will cook up something.
Small note about Chainsaw Man :
One the reasons Chainsaw Man got more sales this year than last year is also due to the release of Part 2.
Taken that part 1 was ended in 2020 (I think), the sales of 2022 were mostly thanks to the hype of the anime.
PS : I was a bit sad to see JJK get 24-episoodes for both seasons while Chainsaw Man only got 12 episodes. Wished MAPPA could make longer seasons to keep the hype and the dynamic (since it's quite fast paced) of the manga
i would rather rake 12 episodes of CSM than dragging the same 12 episodes to 24 episodes which will feel less impactful
Chainsaw Man got 12 episodes because it literally got crammed in between JJK 0 and JJK season 2. Mappa literally did not give their employees any breaks at all dude.
True
I like csm manga
way way more than jjk manga
Imo csm manga > jjk manga
Csm season 1 >>>>>>>>jjk season 1 but 💔💔
@@suned3128I know my personal opinion does not matter even one bit, but I would've liked seeing Mappa try to adapt Chainsaw Man in one go(maybe 3 cours long?). That could also help popularity-wise, perhaps.(we would have to wait longer, but that's not really a problem IMO)
the thing there was that mappa financed the show themselves completely to have artistic freedom thats why they had 12 endings etc.
3:50 I'm currently reading kingdom, I'm in volume 46 so far, it's masterpiece IMO, and I absolutely agree with what you said:)
Oshi no Ko makes a lot of sense. It’s the biggest anime this past year.
So happy to see Kingdom up there. 😊 One of the greatest manga. ✊🏻
To be fair, although the CSM manga is absolutely amazing and quite frankly just such a solid masterpiece, JJK’s not only anime but the manga has been huge ever since well if you know you know. It was such a huge cultural impact, even my friends who aren’t into JJK knew abt what was happening. Esp with hidden inventory and SatoSugo invading my fyp the stars just all aligned
I’m gonna be so fr tho Gojo carried jjks popularity on his back this yr even tho man was stuck in a cube
Real jjk fans read ffor yuji and megumi story fuck gojo and his gay fans
Oshi no ko s2 is going to cover the Tokyo Blade arc.
And it's honestly my Fevourite arc by far,so I can't wait for it to get animated 😇😇
And the manga didn't exactly fall off after this arc, the current arc is really good.🔥🔥
I won't spoil anything . It's kind of like the calm pressure before the huge storm. A lots of pieces are moving towards the climax (presumably)
For anyone who isn't sold on to reading Kingdom yet, i'm just gonna say that author's mentor who teached him everything about creating manga was actually Vagabond author and Hara sensei later teached Tokyo Ghoul author the same. You can actually kinda see the same artistic vibe and type of drawing from their mangas, because all three were teaching each other. Interesting, right?
The fact that one piece and my hero academia only release three volume this year and still manage to be in the top 10 is really impressive
I loved all of oshi no ko and I'm glad it's selling well. The arc in the current manga is going to be so good.
Incest no ko

I’m so hype to see dandadan animated. It has some of the coolest fights in any recent manga I hope they can do it justice

Jump had lost Haikyu and Kuroko, so it's no brainer that the sport fan series easily flock to the current most popular sport series. Added that the series is not a bad series as well. Don't underestimate sport manga fan, even Slam Dunk is on the 6th spot
I guess soccer eugenics is a pretty popular topic among manga readers
to be fair, one piece only release like 2 books a year, and all the chapters can be read for free as soon as it drops by pirating website, so most people don't find the need to buy it
All of the top manga and anime can be read pirate so it is not an excuse
Fair point.
@@bobbobby475I'd say one piece still reigns at the top since more people read one piece online then other top manga (according to the numbers public on most pirating websites)
You don't even need to pirate it, Viz has the latest chapter of shounen jump manga on site for free (I think it was latest 3) officially
@@bobbobby475 one piece didn't release as much as the others because the author is sick and it's top 3
My favourite running gag on this channel is whenever Garnt talks about his anime taste, the Oreimo OP plays in the background
MHA being lower makes a lot of sense considering it got 3 volumes instead of 4 this year, I'm shocked it was still as high as it was because of that but the quality speaks for itself, I hope Horikoshi gets a good rest during the winter break weeks
I typically wait for new seasons of anime but the moment Oshi no ko ended, I immediately searched for the manga lol.
Blue Lock is great and I actually watched it all in May rather than in World Cup Time.
Gag manga is absolutely huge. It’s a staple of Shonen Jump for a reason
the manga for blue lock is honestly absolutely amazing. the panelling and art work. the character writing. other than a few cringy out of pocket line, Blue Lock had to be one of the hypest mangas comming out

Wasn’t surprised about Blue Lock because it caters to a lot of Japanese sentiments. Blue Lock deserves to be fully animated
How many years has it been since a Manga series that's not from Shueisha took place no 1? Congrats to Kodansha and Blue Lock
Oshi no ko is my favorite anime and manga and I’m happy for all of the success. Definitely does not fall off, but definitely slows down

Seeing kingdom there just warms my heart
Man Garnt just seems so much cooler and better looking in the outro audio
Good job with the outro Revel xD
Lol at the editor at the end XD
I think the reason that "slime" is sitting at number 12 has to do with it being in the top 5 of most isekai fans but not getting new canon content since I believe September 2021. We had some movies and OVAs but as far as I know these weren't canon so fans of the show started picking up the manga instead of waiting till April 2024
Act Age was so damn good, I miss it :(
I can’t wait to see the Tokyo blade arc to be adapted 🤩
John Wick Anime where the entire continental gets transported and John has an entire arsenal to beat the isekai game with guns. Just needs one season.
Pluto deserves the garnt special treatment, pls make a video on it
It's still crazy that one piece is up there considering that it releases only 3 volumes per year and everyone and their dog pirates the chapters
we just got the teaser for the new csm movie, EVERYONE should be hyped.

Gotta love all that manga being bought!!!!
Suicide Squad Isekai is very interesting cause it is written by Tappei Nagatsuki writer of Re: Zero and compose by Kenichiro Suehiro who also compose Re: Zero as well! It is an insane crew making this movie.
I think my Favorite Thing about this.... Is the Outro , Goated !
19:54 is that a balisong in his hand? If so, that’s so cool!
The hype for chainsaw man back when it has yet to be aired was from manga fans. Meaning their hype came from the entirety of the manga. Unfortunately, the anime only had 12 episodes, adapting the weakest arc compared to the ones that have yet to come, cause it's only gonna get crazier after the samurai sword dude arc.
I love the danganronpa music in the background!

Kingdom fans we are here 🔥
I feel like Chainsaw Man (the anime) didn't have a good opportunity to show why the fans love it so much.
It ended a little early. Like if Lord of the Rings 1 ended when Frodo left the Shire
Most of the the reason why I like chainsaw man is only from the end point of the anime foward
Exactly
If season 1 had reze arc damn … 😂
Yep. A lot of people who shit on it because it didn’t live up to the hype forget that most shonen don’t really pop off that much in the first 12 episodes. Like nobody would’ve remembered DS if it weren’t for episodes 18 and 19. The only hype thing I remember in the first 12 episodes of JJK was the Gojo vs Jogo fight. Everything else was in the second cour. I really think Mappa shot themselves in the foot with only 12 episodes on CSM.

For chainsaw man as a manga reader we all new the season 1 was just the entree , it’s gonna blow up with season 2 trust us
And I’m sorry but even if the direction for season 1 was AMAZING i feel like it was too special for the mass , I think csm s1 needed a more “traditional” DA just like JJK for a perfect mass appeal ( for example demon slayer)
I think it’ll definitely be appreciated a lot more after s2 but I don’t think it’s gonna blow up. Unfortunately, I feel like a lot of anime-onlies probably won’t even give it a chance if S1 didn’t live up to the hype for them. It’s 100% not gonna be as popular as JJK or DS.
