@@BenBelack Thank you for giving advice about your great city. I have been to L.A. so many times and I do like the beach areas a lot. Santa Monica and further south in San Diego I have fallen love with. And I have family in both areas.
Thanks for the informed discussion. I always have trouble trying to decide where to put a new mansion. I had forgotten Bel Air is part of LA.! Still, the people there probably can get more response from the city govt., for one reason or another.
So basically Bel Air is more for an older/ introverted crowd while Beverly Hills is for more younger/ extroverted crowd? What type of crowd is in the Hollywood Hills area? Also, as far as diversity goes what suburban areas would you recommend that is more racially diverse for minority A Listers?
As a native Los Angeles resident my whole life and a person who lives right outside of Beverly Hills, I would say Beverly Hills and Bel Air would both fall into the introverted crowd. The biggest reason being is both places require such large assets that typically older people have. On the contrary the Hollywood Hills is much more the younger crowd or “new money” crowd. Having a place in the Hollywood Hills is where I think most resident quote “want to be seen”. High end class Bel Air and Beverly Hills for sure. Young and flashy, the Hollywood Hills.
The Hollywood Hills is the #1 spot for home burglaries and stalkers. Almost every single young A-lister has moved from there because of the numerous break-ins and weirdos hanging around in the bushes. Stay in Beverly Hills or Bel Air and just drive to the parties elsewhere. As far diversity, plenty of minorities live in both. It's not the 1950s.
@@osimeon00 wow I wasn't aware the Hollywood Hills was that bad... I do like homes with nice views of the city so that's the reason I was considering Hollywood Hills but not anymore.
@@osimeon00 i just hope they do something about the homeless population in the city because it's starting to grow into other communities and no one wants to get a nice home that's surrounded or near that. I'm not just speaking for the upper class areas I'm speaking for all of LA.
It’s not a fair comparison. As a resident of Beverly Hills, one gets far more for your property taxes. The city of BH has great leadership, responsive city employees, excellent police. Bel-Air is in Los Angeles. ‘Nuff said. Now, if you’re gonna let the Palisades join the group chat…
We didn’t compare them. We contrasted them. Also, re what you mention: These are external variables to homeownership. Not as important to everyone. I know bc we’re with buyers all the time and “city employees” is not once been heard in a must-have list.

You get what you pay for. Sorry, you couldn't make the cut. Enjoy hot Las Vegas. Besides the strip, Vegas has nothing more to offer. I just have more assets to pay for the higher property taxes and income taxes of California. I don't work for it. My assets do all the work for me. Deep down, you know you miss California.
@@raymondsmith1945 I used to buy $800 cashmere sweaters at Saks, now I buy $300 cashmere sweaters at Nordstrom. @@raymondsmith1945 While I have assets, I’m probably not as well off as you, and relocating to Las Vegas made sense. Of course I’d rather have half an acre in point Dume, Malibu, but it wasn’t in the cards for me. Las Vegas makes sense for me, and L.A. is only a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive away. I was able to retire, and pay off my house. …….But believe me, when I make the trip to L.A.., I go straight to La Scala for the best chopped salad! Las Vegas wasn’t as far away as Phoenix, a fairly easy drive to the ocean. Kudos to you to make your (I’m sure) healthy assets work for you!!
The housing price of Los Angeles is a start from 1.5 millions. It isn't possible to have the dream which buys a house for a general person. High tax, the high cost of maintenance and eternal mortgage. I can't think there is a future in such town. The general public has begun to move to an other state, too, as many enterprises have left California. Real estate investor and homeless wonderland.
The problem with american Houses is the Building Quality! Whether Bel Air or Beverly Hills.. the Villas are only made of wood, thin walls, no foundation, no concrete and and!
That drive thru Bel Air is just magical. So green and so well kept.
It’s the best!
It's all about trees....greenery.... Let's make our houses better than Bel Air etc.
I’m on a Ben Belack binge and I’m getting my life! You’re so good at this! Thank you for sharing the city through your eyes! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Please next hidden hills vs Calabasas 👍👍
Good info. How about Pacific Pallisades?
Next compare Inglewood vs Compton lol
That's funny
No profit potential. 🤣
Can’t wait
Hilarious

@beswick1111 It's $12,500 for every million (pro-rated). So, a $2m house would be $25,000/yr.

Whats the point of gates into bel air when you can waltz in via say st pierre rd and n beverly glenn blv where thee is no gate?
Same theory with Golden Gate Bridge? Not all gates are meant to keep people out.
