    i had a Heatcraft unit here in New Zealand. The supply house would label it Henry, interlink and AC &R under their label. All of it came out of China. The copper was corroded and green before brazing. I had to use emery cloth and flux to get 15% silver to adhere 🤣

    I put the Bohns in for years, when I got a new style one sent to me I sent it back, I’m not installing that garbage. Terrible terrible change to their design. Ordered the tecumseh outdoor unit instead, it’s a beautiful unit.

    I use the screwdriver sticking method to check the solenoid...but be advised...the energy to the solenoid does not 100% guarantee that the valve opens.

    Good troubleshooting and repair work. Without the gauges on the unit to know pressutes, I was leaning toward suspecting the evaporator fan delay switch. As you already know, sometimes they are in a two-in-one arrangement, enclosed in the same body as the defrost termination switch and sometimes they are a separate switch all to itself. With the gauges attached to the system, that high head would have been seen right away. Again, good troubleleshooting work on your part.

    Seems nothing was quite right about that install. I kept focusing on the use of non exterior rated flex cord for the mains power, that and the use of a non-watertight fitting (romex clamp?) on the side. 🤦‍♀️ you appear to have much more patience for slop than I, sir Rick!

    ❄💪🇺🇸👍 great vid. Reason for evaporator fans not running? Was warm box temp shutting fans off dtfd switch ? I understand condenser fan down causes hi head n shut down but evaporator fans not running?

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The defrost termination switch wasn't cold enough yet to bring on the EVAP fans.
