As an Australian I can say it doesn’t get more Australian than this, I want one of these so bad
What a beast and bloody Aussie made
That long front end 😍
Hello from Maine, USA. Incredible build!
Turned out pretty good as long as you enjoy it thats all that matters using coils compared to the leafs of the early overlander makes sense it's a modern kit version really it definitely crawls well hope your still enjoying this one
Bloody wicked build
So cool. Well done.
Very Nice and awesom video 👍
Cowarra state forest saw this port macquarie a few weeks ago
Yep, that was me.
Reminiscent of the Holden 4x4 HQ Kingswood that came out from the factory as a limited edition in the 1970s but you don't see them around these days. Looks great mate.
The big question is how much did the conversion cost?
I've always wanted to do a hq wagon 4wd
They should have built that from Factory
they did
Now I’m planning on doing this with dads wb one tonner, a hilux chassis and a commodore engin
Not a bad piece of work !
But don't forget that a
Company Called overlander
Down in Tasmania wher building
Hj, Hz, tonners utes and wagons
Using Holden chassis ,
Dana diffs and brand new
Vehicles straight from
GMH , Powered by
202, 253, 308's
I absolutely love the build mate, but their is only 1 thing I'm not so keen on & that's the engine of choice i would have stuck an cable operated EFI carb into. And here's why cause its an electronically operated throttle you have a good 1 second delay in throttle response, which can easily lead to you miss judging how much throttle to apply in some parts of 4x4 tracks. Also in the event you do go though a deep muddy puddle & your accelerator pedal gets submerged, it could run the risk of the computer being sent "rogue throttle responses" which is no doubt can end is a way you don't want.... but hey that my opinion
G'day Bradly, I appreciate your comments and do agree with you about the electronics. There are plenty of other "better" off road 4WD engines that I could have used, more likely I would have chosen a diesel if it was for pure off road use. I simply wanted a V8 petrol for this build and the complete Maloo R8 ute came up at the right time for the right money and that provided the gearbox, seats, wiring loom and a few other small parts fairly cheap. Might see you on the tracks somewhere. Mark Allen.
Yes I was reading till the end lol.
take it to the tip up through the cape wont last
Fuck that’s awesome, if only it was a manual
is that a hq or hx
3 things I would change is the engine to a duramax TD42 5spd gearbox and redesign the barwork. Still a nice machine tho
Are you going to fit a snorkel for crossing any water or just shovel it in to the low set intake & call it water injection ???
Nissan Patrol chassis?
Thats one sick fucken ute 😍
What did it end up weighing.
Total cost ?
Is this a V8 ? Also can you attach a snorkel?
It’s an ls3 and can support a snorkel
Awesome build but again whats with the awful black wheels these days? Boring
because they are better for off road then alloys?
Personal choice... just like the rest of the vehicle.
Steelies are better for repairs and painting them makes me look good
No snorkel? Ls gonna drown no problem
Nonwhere near the xl
Can you please demo the rocket launchers for us?
At least you read it all, they are a blast.
Put a snorkel on it
Ripper
Shit
James qrx you’re shit
