- In this video we start on my long awaited ( for me ) rebuild of my One Tonner I have used as a workhorse for many many years.
In my head I’ve had this build plans out for a long time, after you watch the video you’ll see I plan to leave no stone unturned with hope that by the end of this, this car will be more or less a brand new Holden One Tonner that will live out the rest of its life with me doing what it was designed for and what it has done for most of its life so far.
Great tip on the lifting bar with strap stoppers, thanks
Excellent video mate, looking forward to seeing the progress
That's one killer build
Cheers mate
Crickey!
A T5 manual behind the little 253 would make for a nice driver. Also, those 253s are gas misers so it'd be cheap as chips to run.
Just saying that wild gets old when used as your daily, it's not really necessary.
nice Mate
Great work bud, all too hard for me, iv restored a HZ sedan, not much rust, guess i was lucky
Keep goin. Well done, bro
I have one of these sitting in my back yard 253 4speed and in reasonable condition. Will be v interested in watching your progress.
New channel name, had me scratching me head for a sec..
Same great content, bloody hell, going all out on this one mate.. Got a shitty Tonner,so this is good for me.
There’s definitely going to be a lot of shitty tonner action coming up
@@V8JakeC Sweet as matey. Mines had more rust than metal. But now would be a resto not worth saving if you picked it apart.😜
Great stuff , This Build is going to help me a Lot next Year , Cheers Guys 🍻
Where is the next instalment?
Can't stop now
Hopefully there’s one sooner rather than later. I had another car that I was doing that was taking priority over this one. That one’s almost finished so I might be able to get stuck back into this.
Looking forward to it
Can’t go wrong with a bit of slipknot
nice video mate. where did you learn your skills ?
Mostly self taught. My brother is “The Resto Shed” and he has helped me progress with my panel beating in the more recent years.
should check out muscle car parts, they have just brought out a full frontal floor pan for hq-wb. where abouts do you guys buy your drip rail gutters?
The intention with this build is to use that full front floorpan. That’s why I’ve placed one of the bracing just above the trans tunnel so I have reference when putting the new floorpan in, I speak on this in the video. The original floorpan will be removed once the car is on the rotisserie.
Drip rails there’s a person on Facebook who sell them by the length. Don’t quote me on a name though.
@@V8JakeC nice man niceee, I wish they were available 5 years ago when I started my build 🥴
Don’t worry I pulled this thing out of the weeds in April when I heard the announcement saying that they will be in production from May onwards 😂
Wow what an interesting
video , l heard your plans think you just need to cut the rust out
& patch like you said
but remove the roof
not sure about that
but it's your call ?
This is how I would do
it clean out the shed
get some etched primer
Blast the #### out of it
Etched it in paint then cut out the rust, patch
it paint it put it back
together, run it for
another 50 year's
🙄😮😮😮😮😮😮😁
I find multiple flaws in your suggested method, and I very much doubt it would last “50 years” with scabbed in patches. I’ll stick with opening up every cavity and making sure it’s as clean as can be instead of living in denial 👍🏻
@@V8JakeC yeah I agree
your method is flawed too
& it won't last 50 , but my
way done proper would,
We both have different
views , so let's agree
to disagree 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Make sure to put videos of your build then champ and I’ll critique it 👍🏻
@@V8JakeC wow someone has got the " hump huh brah"
l told you the way l would do
it , totally different to yours
a full restored ute , it a
Icon brand , but you mate
don't get that & throw a
Hissy fit man , sadly l don't
have a ute because you lot
out in the bush have been
holding on to them , so
take a chill pill country
boy & move on ! 🙄
Just get another cab
