Great video. In adjusting latency as well as other adjustments, I often get confused by map and table names specific to software being used. Makes it harder for me to ensure I'm adjusting the right tables
Incredible and detailed explanation! This has becoming more interesting and seems easy to get into learning and practice but I guess the most difficult part (and maybe time consuming part) of this process is prepping the car for this type of tuning especially for older vehicles' sensors which we need to verify and check - o2 sensors, correct tps calibration, maf sensors, fuel pressure, ects, vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks and so on which with each problem would definitely make it harder to tune. Excellent video will check back for more
You certainly have to be setup and have access to the relevant tables to apply this knowledge. Also, it is easy to watch this and understand but then draw complete blanks when you get your own laptop in front of you 😅 We find people generally run through things a few times even if they understand it off the bat - Taz.
To put it simple. Your ecm can learn and add or subtract fuel, so the goal is to hit your scaling right down the middle so your ecm can learn equally both ways and so it’s job correctly. You will have to scale injectors, tune latency, and also maf scaling to dial it in perfectly down the middle so your ecm is happy.
I have a set of the high imp NZEFI 1000cc injectors for my R32, and they do not seem happy idling anywhere near stoich. With all the injector data already in, the best I could idle at is 13.0 AFR.
If you have a car with ported heads and different intake your maf scaling may have a different curv and you will have to get precise with your maf scaling
Also after reading the nasioc forums you should always log Initial advance multiplier. It should be 1.00000 on 32 bit ecms. 16 on 16 bit wrx ecms but that iam should stay at 1, if it drops, something is wrong, dig deeper into knock, and fueling and maf scaling
I understand not even 60% of what was said...now i need to watch it at least 2 times and take notes this time. I dont even know if it applies to standalone ecu.
Yes it all applies injector scaling is crucial. But if you know your flow rate of injectors due to a test. Put that number in and then work on latency.
Can I rescale the injectors for example I upgraded from 240cc to 550cc. But My MAF sensor is currently scaled for My Intake with 3 inches MAF Housing and 240cc Injectors with perfect fuel trims? I can start scaling My 550cc injectors from there, right?
Unless your Subaru is making you cry and problematic then you’ll disregard the fire extinguisher and probably smile as it burns to the ground haha. I love my car but sometimes it can be stresssful but it’s usually something I have done at this point like add 2 degrees of timing and stretch the head bolts. Ya it happens, I’ll take stretched head bolts over spinning a bearing any day.

His knowledge of how every map affects the tune is priceless information folks.
Cheers for the support 😎
I always learn more and more from HPA. Thanks heaps 👍My tuning 🤞🤣 Aussie Fan 🤘🇦🇺
Great video. In adjusting latency as well as other adjustments, I often get confused by map and table names specific to software being used. Makes it harder for me to ensure I'm adjusting the right tables
Such a good explanation of the process and key points everyone who wants to get into tuning cars should know before even touching an ecu calibration 👌

Hope it helps! - Taz
You need to adjust low pulse width tables before trying to tune that, tables very different on id1050x.
Chasing your tail if you don't.
Can't be that important, my '04 subaru doesn't even have "low pulse width" tables at all.
@bluegizmo1983 it does, just the version software you have tables not defined
They are always there.
Change would make car drive smother.

Very insightful
On a 16 bit wrx ecu fuel pump duty cycle is related to injector duty cycle. Installing an id1050 the fuel pump works 33% to 66% and dont go 100%

I’m here to learn as well specifically injector latency.
Great video.😊

I’m assuming that they pulsating fuel issue is on the stock system, I have a walbro 255 with 3/8 fuel line and don’t have that problem?
Also you kinda want to cheat your ecm to learning by taking away fuel in case something happens you will be rich not lean.
Can I rescale the injectors for example I upgraded from 240cc to 550cc. But My MAF sensor is currently scaled for My Intake with 3 inches MAF Housing and 240cc Injectors with perfect fuel trims? I can start scaling My 550cc injectors from there, right?
Thanks for well explanation. This is really helpful. I am hoping to put ID1050x, is it same procedure for ID1050x ?
Yes sir, great choice of injectors too - Taz.

Will romraider work on Mitsubishi?
EcuFlash does, but I'm not sure about RomRaider sorry. Worth a search - Taz.
Just use ecu flash for tuning and evo scan for logging
Serious question,
Anyone playing with injectors on hybrids?
Im Definitely in the deep end trying to tune/scale id1300s with an VE table that's a work in progress as well huh? ( ᐛ )
hey How can I tune my own ECU want pop and bang and car abit lazy on acceleration
It is 'mass' air flow and not ' mess' air flow sensor.
Thanks Lou ❤️
Your hair😅
Yes, he likes to keep it on his head. Odd right? 😅 - Taz.
