I have still to find the sweet spot in the strength of the flick to have it rotate properly but only halfway, because my board would just kinda flop on the side with 0 pop. I managed quite a few of the ollies pushing down on the nose though 🛹 Did not get around to trying the shuvit tip, but I told it to a girl at the session and she managed to land her first shuvit that night! So I get overall George’s tips do help ☺️

    When I learn the shuv it I was scared about put my to feet on the board. So i take the weels and true trucks off and I try to shuv with the deck only and I catch it in only few tries

      You can also wrap the wheels with socks so that they don’t move and then you have a better feel for the board

    Hey please i have a question, for the ollie do i have to jump forward?

    • @CharleysHorseBand
      @CharleysHorseBand 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not while still, but while rolling you want to jump forward, it’ll help get your back wheels a lot higher. I would recommend learning ollies while rolling

      no dont jump forward, just lean forward while jumping up, not forward

    I think it helps me when I look at a certain spot on my board for tricks. So if I keep missing with both feet then I'll look the opposite direction of where I miss and it helps my brain tell my body to jump the right direction instead.

    When I try to kickflip I can do it with putting one foot at the ground but when I try to land of with two feet I can't rotate the board properly, why is this?

    • @LLL-zx6dw
      @LLL-zx6dw 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fuckkkk same fucking same except the last part I can rotate 100% it’s the landing on both feet, but it’s cuz I’m not committing and scared since I sprained my back foot twice doing a kickflip......

    Great video George!!! Just wanna add for me, personally I've been skating for about a year now and what helped me with getting that 'click' with the ollie was my posture on the board. Ive always thought I had the pop down and the whole dragging your front foot but could never actually get the board leveled. Once I started adjusting my posture to be directly over the board (possibly even leaning slightly over) it instantly clicked and the rhythm has stuck ever since :D. Just thought I'd leave this here for anyone struggling as well!

    I’ve been skating for just over a year. I’ve been able to do ollies but shuvits and kickflips always felt just out of my grasp. After watching this I landed my first shuvit ever. I hope to do kickflips in the future but I just wanted to say a huge thank you for getting me over this huge hurdle

    Just like you explained at the kickflip section, I found it hard to land on the board with both feet in shove-it. It took my months of practise, stopping practising shove-its and getting back at them, but now I have learnt it :) Fakie is easier for me as well, and I have to improve the form, but I am extremely happy about shove-its! I will apply your tip in the 'forward' shove-it, thanks a lot George! :)
