Oh man the Judge Judy eye roll when Empress was welcoming Zhen Huan back legitimately made me laugh out loud. This section is my favorite of the series. Zhen Huan is all no nonsense and I LOVE it.
Every time she talks she's being fake 🙄🙄 And she does it with such a straight face!! Definitely agree, it was a hard road here but I love everything about the new Zhenhuan 😁

Feels bad for Xin Guiren. I happen to love Zhen Huan's consort attire; the fashionable asymmetry and red lipstick really give off "I'm not a target you can step over"; it also helps I love blue.
The emperor loves new, bright, happy women and then slowly life here stomps it out of them. Instead of thinking about why that is, he then goes out and finds new pretty birds to trap in the cage that is the forbidden city :)
@@dramarecaps4217 which sucks, because xin guiren is one of the two most beautiful women in the harem (the other being duan fei) and though she's not seen often, when we _do_ get to see her, she's polite and sometimes even adorably sassy. had it not been made obvious that xin guiren was already part of the harem (what with the mention of her miscarriage in the first or second episode), i would have assumed she was one of the new concubines. hell, sun li is only a few months younger than xin guiren's actress!
Hey thanks for summarizing this so nicely! I have been a fan of this show ever since I saw it on Netflix many years ago. Of course due to the cuts of many scenes and sub-plots, a lot of things didn’t make sense so I ended up watching the series from scratch on KissAsian!

You're totally right. Before she came back to the palace the emperor gave her a new identity. Part of that new identity was changing her age, adding 10 years so she could be seen as 4th Prince's mother. Check out the 54-55 video, around 4 minutes in
