Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this TH-cam name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

Hey! I’ve explained it many times and I have a description in every video but I’ll explain it to you here, I don’t mind: I started listening to Korean music in 1998 with H.O.T/Sechskies/SES and stayed pretty active with the Kpop lifestyle until 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus and seizures. I started chemotherapy and dialysis then for several years since my kidneys were on the brink of failure then so I took a big break from being active with checking in with Kpop, which happens to be the years when groups like Twice debuted and started their rise up.

Fun Fact: Cheer Up was actually one of biggest of Twices song EVER; Cheer Up is what got them on the market and got there first ever win with that song and from there it was and still is history 😌

Yes! Likewise, TT blew up in Japan. And ever since, they've been really big there, just like in S Korea. Recently a Talent Power Ranking in Japan revealed that among the active kpop groups rn, TWICE is at no. 1 (followed by BTS, iz*one, Seventeen, Exo).

Not totally true guys. "OHH AHH" started out slow... debuting at #99 on the charts. But over the next 5 month, it blew up. It was actually charting at #8 when TWICE released "CHEER UP". Yes "CHEER UP" went viral, but TWICE had already gotten the public's attention.
Most Korean also thoughts cheer up was Twice debut song😅

This is a theory about TT and knock knock that I read and kinda makes sense:
Knock knock sleepover happened first until JYP himself(JYP ent. chairman which made the mv funnier) knocks on their door and gets rejected. He leaves a magic book and twice gets and opens it. Then snow came, twice played outside and got locked out (See nayeon's line in KK: The door closes at twelve). The twice that is actually performing in TT is from the book and the ones knocking at the end of TT is the real twice 🤣

There is also the theory that they died after getting locked out and their spirits are the ones haunting the house in TT.

6 months into their debut, Cheer Up gave them their SOTY from major music awards (MMA and MAMA). That song put them in history, and it's crazy to think that they're only 6 months old at that time.

Since I started listening to Kpop last year, I think ive listened to Twice the most and most consistently. I just get so much joy listening to them.

Knock Knock is one of my favorite Twice songs. It's good, then Jihyo's adlibs take it to another level and add a note of sadness to a very upbeat song. Taking joy in the seasons, but with the feeling of the relentless passage of time. Knock Knock has always been underrated.

YOU ARE HERE BY OFFICIALLY A ONCE 🎉🎉🎉 WELCOME TO OUR FANDOM & FAMILY ❤️ You truly hit the nail on the head when you mentioned being proud of them after watching a few of the SIXTEEN episodes and having completed your reverse chronological order with their MVs. These 9 amazingly talented girls have been through so much together and have came so far and us ONCES have had the honor and privilege to witness so much of their growth through SIXTEEN, Weekly Idol, Knowing Bros, Amazing Saturday, Time To Twice, Twicelights ( Which is a MUST watch ) Vlive, all their MVs and concerts. My sister got into KPOP about 8 years ago and I barely became a KPOP head a year and a half ago, right before COVID hit. I would watch tons of Bobby Lee stand up performances, his podcasts and MAD TV skits so due to TH-cam’s algorithm TWICE started popping up and since I had always been into rock and metal I kept ignoring the video it kept suggesting. After 2 weeks I finally gave in and gave them a look. The video was LIKEY and here I am little over a year and a half later and I own 7 albums and soon to be more, know some Korean now and am totally in love with 5 Korean girls, 3 Japanese girls and 1 Taiwanese girl aka OT9 aka ASIA’S NATIONAL GIRL GROUP aka OUR QUEENS aka TWICE ❤️. That’s the power of TWICE. You give them 1 chance and they just totally captivate you and steal your heart. They are like family to us and us ONCES do feel a tremendous amount of pride in our hearts when it comes to everything they accomplish. They truly are 1 in a Million. Once again, Welcome to our family my fellow ONCE. It’s been a honor and a privilege watching your journey as well. TWICE AND ONCE FOREVER ❤️.
