Some things I think about when I compare Kyurem White and Black is that… one of them completely ruined by Scald burns, the other can still function… another fact is that one of them’s strongest STAB locks it in, which makes it much much more vulnerable to revenge killing… lastly, one of them doesn’t get a fire move to destroy steels and they can’t even be used as temporary pivots like Scizor to BP it
10/10 intro dude! I definitely remember when BW2 came out and ppl tried to shoehorn Specs Kyu-W onto teams until they realized it's a nightmare to get it in safely. Thinking more about it makes it seem like a fun experiment. I can however see Specs Ice Beam being a problem.
When the specs ibeam hits like 95% as hard as specs latios draco, it probably will be an issue, yeah. The specs draco, though? That's going to be absolute chaos. It chunks spdef heatran for like over 40% on the switch. It also has stupid coverage with focus blast and fusion flare, so anything that tries to switch in risks being instantly nuked. In short, it's going to be a bit tough to get it in safely, sure, but it's going to do band kyu-b shenanigans while not needing to lock into outrage and while actually having coverage to hit anything with its primary offensive stat (instead of only having resisted moves to click on stuff like ferro and drill)
I could see reshiram being tested, but idk about white kyurem. I just want reshiram to be given a chance because that pokemon has been in a horrific state for over a decade

You know, if we saw Kyurem-White or Reshiram in OU, there's a decent chance they'd run Dragon Tail for Blissey since their coverage is already pretty good, and that would probably make the hazard game a lot worse, so I'm not too sure about that
Next BKC Video: How to review a team on team preview by looking at the colors alone? Kyu-W and reshiram have a ton if flaws but they can do a bunch of things combined, they mostly make dragon teams more robust to mamoswine and they might also allow you to play magless and use 5 dragons or something like a excadrill. In sun Reshiram can break heatran without using a secondary stab or coverage and even if the weather setter comes in, they will be burned 17% of the time. KW is not neccesarily a good sun abuser but it can check some pokemon in a pinch.
I think the only problem with unbanning Reshiram and Kyurem-White is that you would be able to run both of them on the same team, and that would probably be too much for the metagame to handle
Individually they both sound like nightmares to deal with. Specs blue flare from resh in Sun damn near requires a quad resist with max spdef investment to not get absolutely bodied. And then specs kyurem-w probably has the single most powerful Draco in the game
I haven't finished watching so maybe you cover this in the video, but personally I'd prefer not to see any major metagame shake-ups at all. I play BW OU a lot and one of the things I love is that it's relatively stable, the number of strategies is good, and the number of Pokes that are relevant is relatively low meaning you, generally, can cover your matchups pretty decently with the right team. I have 0 idea if the metagame would be "better" or "worse" with Kyurem-White and Reshiram, but what I do know is I would prefer a slightly "worse" meta that is more stable over a slightly "better" meta that shifts around. At least in terms of older generations that have had plenty of time to settle, it's just kind of like . . . I just want it to be what it is and be able to come back to it and see that it's the same as it always was. Sure, maybe the meta naturally evolves over time but the core things that are in the meta hasn't changed. That's definitely my preference, emotionally.
Compare this to say, dropping Landorus back into the metagame. Landorus absolutely wrecks balance cores and generally doesn’t have switch ins, or at least not viable ones. Or worse, imagine something like Lugia. Sure, it probably doesn’t sweep you and it can be pressured, but at the same time, it warps the metagame to an insane degree. Imagine a metagame where if you don’t have a choice band Kyurem Black you can’t kill the enemy Lugia. Or fucking Skymin. Jesus. Any one of those would be a lot more unhealthy compared to Kyurem White or Reshiram. So who knows?
BKC really wants to see BW OU burn (not that I blame him), but I think there's merit to this thought. Deoxys-D was in UU for a time before people realized that was a bad idea, but it also sees zero play in Ubers. I think some suspect testing could be in order.
We should let Ho-Oh into OU for a while and see what happens. New offensive Sun abuser? Solid answer to psychic spam? Giving Terrak more value in the tier? Who says no?
With every supposedly “Kyurem-W proof team” you’ve shown 5/6 members get oneshot by dragon/ice/fire coverage and if the sixth member is named ttar he has to pray the focus blast comes out sideways. It’s not even comparable to Kyurem-B who has to rely on its far worse special stat and hp fire for similar coverage (even then, ferro can tank one hp fire from Kyurem-B, what’s it doing against a fusion flare?) and gets ruined by burn, and has zero physical ice coverage and a less spammable dragon move. Even Kyurem-B goes mixed sometimes because special is that much better than physical with its moveset, how does anything stand up to a full special Kyurem-W?

The only Ice-type that gets Fire moves is Galarian Darmanitan
