Finally, the "secret" is revealed. But alas, it boils down to lots and lots of practice. Thank you for taking the time to share this.

This is great! Are there certain patterns within the scale you are using? Do you always skip the 4th note, depending on what scale degree you start on?

I have my patterns that have developed over time, but they don’t always come out the same way. And for me so much of it is intuitive, I have to go back and analyze sometimes what I’m doing.

You forgot to mention you are skipping the first beat of the triplet. You always sound so good with these. Do you hold your pick from your thumb knuckle?

Thanks, Zander! Yes about holding the pick- it’s a wide triangle so the side of it touches at the knuckle and my thumb sticks out a little on the other side. I think the missing beat you might be talking about has to do with a discrepancy in how I count it out in the beginning as a quarter note triplet, but the example is an eighth note triplet. So the beginning explanation makes sense if you just count the tune off in 4 where the melody notes are eighth notes (as opposed to counting off in 2 and melody notes as 16th notes)

Thanks but I have a wee complaint. You demonstrate too fast. It’s much quicker to learn slowly. A slow explanation along with a slow demonstration would be better. 👍
