    That is one of the better double stop explanations, great practical examples.

    This a good introduction to using the major and minor third double stops, and how they lay out on the mandolin. One small nit that I have is the use of the term half-diminished to describe a triad. The only time half-diminished should be used is to describe a type of 7th chord. The triad based on two stacked minor thirds is simply a diminished triad.

    Tons of beginner content on youtube. How refreshing to be able to dig in deep to advanced concepts with such clarity. I love your modal playing Wayne and the way you use these modes to move around in different keys. The idea of using a C chord scale to be able to move through my Dm work never occurred to me.

      Glad this was a help. Now you can apply that thought to ANY minor chord. If you're playing over G minor check out the F scale. Learn the F chord scale and double stop scales. Good luck....

    Question: what’s your opinion of a Fender A style? Would it be suitable for a beginner?

    • @waynesworldofmandolin3616
      @waynesworldofmandolin3616  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the playability and intonation are ok then it would be suitable. I will say I've played a few of those mandolins thru the years and the "factory" set-ups were horrible.

    Can any major one just be made major just by flatting the 3rd?

    • @waynesworldofmandolin3616
      @waynesworldofmandolin3616  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thx for the question Dan. A major chord can be made minor by lowering the 3rd a half step. Check out my video about minor chords in the "chord playlist".....

      I've been playing the D'Addarrio EXP74CM set for a good while now. They are described as a custom medium gauge. Check these out if you get a chance they won't disappoint......

    Wayne you need to be a teacher in school. You can get the lesson across to where a beginner can understand the concept.
