Knew Johnny very briefly in the late 80s, in Albuquerque. An old guy that was one of his neighbors worked with me, I gave the guy a ride home a couple of times and Johnny came out to help me carry the groceries in.. The few times we spoke he was extremely friendly, and I am left with a good memory. Sorry to learn of his passing.
Man watching this I didn't know johnny tapia past he was one of my favorite boxer's RIP to him a great champion sorry for his family lost I enjoy seeing him box
I thought Tapia won. His defense was much better, his counters and body work landed the most effective punches. Paulie was the aggressor but he threw wide punches and got countered a lot.
They said after the fight that Tapia wasn't tied to any promoter - seems like that had something to do with it - promoters are the ones who hire the judges.
Creo que Tapia debió llevarse esta pelea, estuvo realmente cerrada pero creo que supo ajustar en comparación con la primera. Hubiera sido genial verlos pelear una tercera vez
Tapia did not care. Extreamly troubled, and was un- fixable. He was so hurt about his mother, and we could not help him. Only one he would listen to was marco antonio berrarra. Such a good fighter. OMG was he somthing special. Love him forever unconditional, like he loved us
Ayala pushed the pace and was always the fighter coming forward. Tapia counterpunching was way more productive and precise than the 1st fight , agreeably a difficult fight to score but still clearly Tapia landed the more concise and crisp punches.
We are robbers, liars, adulterers, sinners, when we go to the court, the only way to pay for what we did is to go to prison (you can’t do good deeds to repay the bad you’ve already done, you have to face the consequences of your actions), if our sin was done against a policeman, the time spent in prison will be higher; judge higher, president; higher, the punishment against God is eternal prison, but if we have someone that will pay our debt we will be set free and this person is Jesus Christ. If you accept in your heart that He died for your sins, today, you will be saved and you’ll never be able to lose your salvation.
Viendo el resultado de las dos pelea puedo decir claramente que a tapia le robaron las dos peleas pero esta última fue un descaro Tapia fue superior a ayala toda la pelea
Sadly, Tapia was not thought to survive. So even if the judges loved him. They would vote for the sure thing. Ayayla. Because Tapia was a wild one. High risk for the money makers who invest in seat fillers
Before the fight starts they ask Ayala what did he learn from the last fight between them that would help him this time, his response is "hopefully the judges see the fight right and call it correctly??" 26 different times throughout the fight the commentators said something about how many punches Ayala was missing and wildly he was missing them. In round 11 the commentators are both COMPLETELY BAFFLED why Ayala isn't fighting or doesn't seem to be trying to WIN when he's clearly losing....
All of this makes perfect sense once you hear the scores from Lennon Jr, Ayala was NEVER in danger of losing that fight and HE KNEW IT.. I think he threw ABOUUT 100 SHOTS THAT missed by over a foot. lol. If you can't tell the fix is in after seeing this fight there's something wrong with your eyes.. twice in a row he got robbed by Ayala... Its funny cuz looking back at the fight again you can see clearly how calm Ayala is the entire time and he's already yelling hallelujah in the 10/11th round while he's losing... makes me fuggin sick to my stomach
John won he had a lot of talent I think I would have liked to have seen him fight Sanchez they would have taken boxing to a level that would have been spectaculer
@@PaulieAyalasHardKnocksBoxingtrue fans know tapia won Paulie would be happy that’s the only reason he’s remembers he is a great fighter but tapia was a star
I didn't score the first 5 rounds but I had Tapia winning rounds 6 and 7, with Pauli winning 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. If I'm right then Pauli only needed 1 more round to secure a draw and just one even round to win by 6-5-1. I think that Paulli definitely won the fight. Too many people let the commentators score the fight for them instead of scoring for themselves. The commentators were confused about everything in the last round. They couldn't understand why Tapia's trainer told Johnny to 'get him out of there' going into the last round. Johnny doesn't have a KO punch so when his trainer told Johnny to take Paulie out that's a clear indication that he wanted Johnny to take risks to try to knock Paulie out. If Tapia had been winning his trainer would never have told him to take Paulie out. He would have told Johnny to keep boxing like you havee ben and don't change anything. In short, Tapia's trainer knew that Johnny was losing the fight. Tapia lost the 12th round as well. The announcers couldn't understand why Paulie wasn't more aggressive in the last round. It was for the same reason that Tapia's trainer told him to take Paulie out, Paulie knew that he was winning as well. One commentator said Paulie isn't being aggressive because maybe he doesn't care that much about the belt. He came up with that absurd evaluation instead of just going with the obvious and logical reason,.....that Paulie was winning. If you watch closely Paulie was landing more punches round after round. One of the commentators twisted everyone's mind into believing that Tapia won. Tapia's jabs didn't land all night but Ayala was peppering Tapia with his jab round after round. Paulie also landed a bucket full of right hooks on the left side of Tapia's face. Every time Tapia threw 3 or 4 consecutive right hands the commentator made a lot of noise about it. He never landed more then one of those punches in a given sequence however, so what's the big deal? If you watch closely Tapia's punches were bouncing off of Paulie's gloves all night long. Paulie was a bit wild as well but he tightened it up about the 8th round and consistently landed more punches and harder punches the rest of the fight. Tapia was clearly the sentimental favorite due to his life's ups and downs but it's not fair to his opponent to give Tapia any credit in the ring because of emotions.
i agree the announcers were hanging from tapias nuts before the fight started when he threw 3 jabs in a row they were saying he connected all 3 and ayala couldnt stop them when none actually connected. totally 1 sided. somebody shouldve gone and removed them between rounds and got someone off the street to finish calling the fight they wouldve done a better job
its really simple Tapia was robbed twice against Ayala and no disrespect towards Ayala who was a great champion as well just didnt think he beat Tapia also i always wondered why neither fought Orlando Canizales
I know, right! It's so rigged man, boxing. Like it's their job to sell fighters, not fights. When they should be doing neither. They should be calling the shots - a left, an uppercut, followed by a right cross, whatever. Promoters should do the selling. They really don't even call punches much.
Ayala simply had Tapia's number. He blocked a lot of his punches and countered effectively. The announcers were so biased that I had to turn the volume all the way down to clear their noise.
One of the best to ever do it. Rest In Peace Jonny Tapia
Rest in peace uncle John, still can't believe you're gone. Love you man.

They work great. Flat bottom, filled with water till frozen. Last longer and colder than a actual real enswell flat iron.
Nice and good clean fight i admire those 2 boxer
No doubt
