Noise or not, that fan is a must have. I've only had the headset for a few days, but it's bad. The sweating, I mean. Gone through a roll of paper towels, the good ones. It looks like I'm crying, which I am cause of resident evil 4 but still. Get the fan

Dont know what to say, doesnt happen to me for some reason, and I play vr for a lot of hours each time
I’m definitely investing in that fan as well as the broker wave lenses. I hate having to use my glasses with my headset. Especially when I get it all packed up and realize my glasses are still in the headset. Such a cool accessory.
I actually recently got a quest 2, and this is one of the best accessory must-have videos i have watched! I will definitely look at getting some of these!

@@sgt0079 yall should definitely get a new headstrap especially if you play for a long time bc I b play for a long time and it was hurting my head after awhile
I opted to simply use a battery mounting bracket on the standard strap, and it honestly works quite well. The original strap is abit too elastic at times, but the balance that the battery brings more than makes up for any of the downsides. Of course, it's just me using the headset, so it's not as if I have to worry about readjusting all the time

couldnt agree more! i mounted a 10Ah power bank to the back of the vertical strap with velcro cable ties. >6h play time, and it makes a huge difference in comfort.
i ended up adding some sheet lead, to bring up it's weight to around 330g, which perfectly counters the weight of the headset. completely eleminating the need to strap it firmly against my face, which always gave me headaches after juts half an hour. (apparently a common problem with the stock strap)

The virtual prescription glasses I just hope they come in a non-prescription version so that you can just protect your thing lenses on your oculus that you can’t replace

When I bought the strap I actually use the box from it as a carrying case and I bought a backpack to store the controllers and other stuff

When I first got the elite strap it felt good but then I bought a third party strap and it was so much better

you can get better headstraps for cheaper that dont break. the elite headstrap has had consistent issues with it breaking alot because of the pressure put on it by the speakers
most only last like a few months

for a headstrap i would recommend the joyroom headstrap im getting it and a review said that its good and pretty cheap

Bros setting us up with the elite strap I recommend the kiwi design battery one or the slightly cheaper bobovr battery one however don't be fooled by the gimmicks of the bobovr one I personally prefer kiwi design

I got the chromecast for my quest and my headset wont pick it up for some reason. Followed the instructions to the letter so idk
MY head strap has a magnetic power bank (Battery) at the rear, making swapping out another battery easier and faster. Plus, the headset is also balanced better.
What headstrong is it
Warning for anyone looking for the official link cable or any usb cable. Most motherboards cannot handle the power needs to charge amd link at the same time. It will show charging in the quest but you will still lose power fast, maybe getting an hour more at best. Either use airline amd charge from the wall outlet or powerbank or buy a Kuject cable that has a y adapter that you also plug original wall charger into at the same time.

btw you do not need a fiber optic link cable. for the quest 3 maybe, but the quest 2 cant utilize the faster speeds it provids anyway. dont buy the 80$ cable just get a normal link cable for lik 10-20$

You don’t need a chrome cast to cast your oculus on tv all you need is a iPhone *atleast iOS 15* and the oculus app then just sign in and cast then swipe down on the top of your screen *iphone* then click screen mirroring if you have done this before then it will start casting the vr if not then it will show a code on your tv and you need to type it into your iPhone and it will start casting on tv
Most smartphones will work. Not just iPhone. Also, if you have a smart tv you dont need a chromecast device.
Once you've downloaded the Meta app, you can cast from the app to Phone or Smart TV connected to same wifi as phone and oculus.
the elite strap is not worth the price. It did last me a year, but it breaks very easily. they have really good third party ones that are way more comfortable as well.
What game are you playing during the segment about the Chromecast? Kinda looks like Minecraft.

BUY THE IR illuminator very small and it works!!!!!!!!!
I use a BoboVR "head strap".
It's actually a beautiful piece of hardware that makes it secure AROUND your head - feeling natural, like a hat!
It also has a pillow-like cushion for your forehead AND for the back of your head!
It is so damn comfortable 😌
You can then adjust it to be firm, or loose on your head.
I personally don't have much hair right now and ANY strap is just awkward and uncomfortable- so this accessory is a dream!

I recommend the elite battery headstrap, which easily adds another 2+ hours of game time. Very handy when there's a party, for solo play, you'll probably never need to dip into the main battery. In a sense, it prolongs the battery life of the main headset and adds a nice balance since Quest 2 is front heavy.
Can't i just plug in a powerbank with 10k mAh and since the oculus has only 3k mAh it can last at least 10h
dont get metas headstrap btw. MANY people report it breaking within less then a year because of the pressure the speakers put on the headstrap, and it being so rigid. id very strongly recommend buying a 3rd party headstrap from brands like kiwi or bobo

the quest 2 cant utilize the speeds of fiber anyway, so youre spending 80$ for the same speeds and performance as a regular 10-20$ cable
and the elite strap breaks. alot. most peopels elite strap breaks in a matter of months, and you can get better, cheaper third party ones.

That's normal and part of the process of getting your VR legs. Running a fan on yourself helps a lot, but the feelings subside as you put more time into it

Do not buy the Anker charger it sucks the charging is way to broken. I refunded it and bought it again and I had the same problem I do not recommend.

Would you buy a Quest 2 when Meta has already ditched the Quest 1? AFTER 4 YEARS. Talk about built in obsolescence.
It's because the original Quest had a FAR smaller user base than the Quest 2.
At launch, the Quest 2 was cheaper than the original, and it's more powerful than it as well, so a lot more people were able to get one. So, from Facebooks perspective, they literally had no reason to continue to support it.
With how popular the Quest 2 is, with there being a MASSIVE influx of players on Christmas alone, it makes absolutely no sense for Meta to discontinue it any time soon!
The original Quest was made in an attempt to bring VR to the masses, and it failed miserably like it or not. The Quest 2 absolutely trumps it in comparison!
Facebook isn't even going to consider it, unless the Quest 3 becomes an even bigger hit!

The best Meta Quest accessory: Deleting your Meta / Facebook account, pawning off your quest, and getting an ACTUAL VR headset like the index or the vive.
Don't support Meta and their inability to understand the VR market. Make them rue the day they thought they could rule the scene.
