A cat water fountain works well for my cats. Especially when its far away from their food. Cats prefer when their water and food are in separate areas of the house. Also the running water mimics outdoor running water which encourages them to drink more. You can tell if your cat needs to drink more by touching their nose as well. If its dry then they aren't drinking enough. Hope this helps.
If your cat doesn't drink a lot of water: You could try a water fountain. We bought a stainless steel one for our cat and since he got it he drinks a lot of water and seems to enjoy it. Downside is that some of them makes noise (ours is quiet thank goodness) and you need to every like.. 3-6th week change two filters in it to make sure the water stays clean. Of course you could always change the water and clean it daily like a normal water bowl if you don't want to spend money on extra filters. But 100% worth the investment imo.
I won several cats over by helping them to get out of trouble. Like getting stuck on top of a high shelf. And giving food and treats should show that you're useful. It took more than a few times until I had proven myself useful. And therefore worthy of the cat's attention and cuddles.

I think animals in general can pick up on whether a person is good or not. I definitely pay attention to the way animals react to other people.
just found ur channel n subscribed great video! it explains why our kitten loves my hubbys beard. 😊 though i wasn't surprised at the ice n frozen food hacks bc cats usually like things like food warm(it's a biological instinct back to them eating fresh kills that would still be warm). my cats will still eat cold food but they go crazy when it's lightly warmed. oh n for the water thing.... there's a product called churu it's basc like meat gogurt for cats n they go nuts for it. not only is it good for them n has a lot of water in it, it encourages them to drink more water esp right after too. i generally give my kitties 1 a day as a treat and they've been drinking more water ever since. hope maybe that'll help Kurt!
