A couple of years ago I gave in to people telling me I needed an air fryer so purchased the cheapest one I could find (£30 from asda) and it was a revolution for me! It cuts cooking time by 40%ish , is super easy to clean and cooks loads of the things I like very well indeed.
I am now desperate for it to break down so I can go buy one of those two drawer ninjas but the bloody thing just keeps going and going.

Just relying on an; "Air Fryer" would never do for me! I cook four meals a day; Breakfast, Dinner, Tea, and Supper, with my mid-day Dinner being my main meal of the day. For that, I have always used my Gas Cookers; High-level Grill for toasting stuff, four mid-Gas Burners for all my multiple Pots and Pans, and the bottom Gas Oven for all my Roasting! To time everything correctly for the meal I need 3-4 saucepans on the go, with Boiled Potatoes, Boiled Fresh Vegetables, and Boiled Gravy, with a spare burner for warming my Dinner Plates placed over the grill. Meat/Pies, etc, will go in the Gas oven for however long it takes to roast, and everything has to be "timed" independently! I cannot imagine a single "Air Fryer" being able to perform all those separate timings and temperature requirements! My trusty Gas Cooker and Kitchen Timer are on the go, all day long, serving all my daily needs! As long as the Gas Man supplies me with Gas, I am a Happy Bunny!.....LOL...😊....😊....!

Got a toaster oven, a microwave, and a rice cooker -- that filled it up. Was gifted a pasta machine, and it sent me into a tizzy -- where to put it? They're perfect for what you do on the channel, i.e. cooking one thing at a time, and I must admit that I got hooked on mine, especially when electricity prices were going through the roof, but I think they have major drawbacks which have led to me using them less and less. One is that you can really only do one thing at a time, and we often need to do several things at once. For that reason I would say the ones with two drawers must be better. I found myself cooking the protein element, keeping it warm in the oven while I did the spuds. Not much point having the speed, temperature and electricity saving if you're still heating the oven. Another thing is noise. The ones I have are really noisy and I like to listen to music while I'm cooking.....shush! If I got another one it would have two drawers!

We have an "Instant" one, which we got from Argos a year or so ago. With the single huge drawer it will cook any sized whole chicken if required. The drawer ones are easier to get stuff out of than the top-loading ones and fit better under cupboards as well.

Great for chips, though to make them tumble rather than just slide, you have to cut them into cubes rather than strips. Fantastic for chicken wings too. I recommend the Tefal airfryer, it's called the Genius XL 2 in 1, with a large bottom bowl and a smaller upper bowl, you can time either of the bowls, or both. The bottom bowl also revolves with a stirrer, if you want, so you don't need to turn the chips, etc. I love mine!

Ninja af500 - 3 zones to cook in, left, right, and remove the partition and open up the two baskets into one big one. Also good at sync cooking, say your chips take 20mins and something else 10mins, you can sync it so when the chips get to 10mins the other basket then kicks in, plus other things it can do.

I went with a De’Longhi Multifry, because it has a removable rotating paddle that can stir the food, top and bottom heating elements, and can also slow cook which is great with the stirring paddle for soups, stews, currys, etc.

Have a large capacity Gourmia (drawer/basket style) and if something happened to it i would hope to replace it with the exact same thing - my experience with the Sage type has been disappointing - particularly with the heating elements on the bottom it really is useless - basically a glorified toaster oven and i don't consider it an air fryer as the results are just not the same
A "real" air-fryer makes a whole chicken that is crispy on the outside and so moist on the inside - the same with pork chops - turkey fillets should not be cooked any other way, so moist - and of course all the other prepackaged food like tater-tots/french fries - chicken thighs - crispy vegetables.....

I have a one pot pressure cooker which is great for soup etc. I upgraded my air fryer and bought a Beko double air fryer which is well prices and comes with lots of extras with it including skewers. It's quieter than my old one and has the option to put two different things in and you press a button and they are ready at the same time. Oh and the baskets are dishwasher proof which my old one wasn't.

Thank you for bringing up the subject. I also need a new air fryer, and it's a "jungle out there." Your knowledgeable followers have provided some great suggestions for a good air fryer. As I mentioned, I follow your channel even though I live in Denmark and cannot buy the products you review, but in this case, I can participate. The recommended air fryers are also available in Denmark.

Replace the broken plastic bit, we done that on our Ninja Multi OP500UK as we love it for both pressure cooking and slow cooking (we have two of these, don't ask lol).
When it comes to air frying, we have the 2 drawer Ninja AF400UK and love it, but then there is only the two of us so it suits. Mate of mine down the road from you in Barrow (We'll call him Tall Brian) has just go the Ninja with the big Drawer that you can split into two AF500UK and loves it.
My Mum got the Ninja double stack SL400UK and hates it and has gone back to her older Ninja AF100UK, she's on her own and this is much better for her.
Ultimately it comes down to personal choiceand what you expect to get from it.
Excited /interested to see what you get though.

I was looking at that Ninja combo cooker the other day and thought to me self it doesn’t look too bad to be honest. You are right air fryers are not always suitable for everything. Hope you find what suite you. To be fare you look as though you’ve got a good set up in your kitchen with the smaller oven in conjunction with the Ninja combo. I’ve got a small Ninja air fryer. I find it’s great for doing pukka pies in for example and fries etc. Just a matter of choosing the right setting I find. All the best

Hi Gareth, glad to see you doing research. We bought a very cheap supermarket air fryer at first just to see what they can do. We were impressed, so we did our research. There are only us two as our children have now flown the nest. We decided on the Ninja Speedi. It has ten functions and suits us fine. We can cook a whole small chicken. It can roast, bake, and slow cook. We can cook a whole meal in it, for example recently we cooked pork loin, potatoes and two veg. It all cooked perfectly. You may find it too small for your family but it is worth checking out . My wife was a professional cook before retiring and found it easy to adapt to the Speedi and likes using it very much. It is also far, far cheaper than using our modern fan oven. It has certainly reduced our electricity bill. Hope you find this useful.

Still using all my stuff as started with my Halogen oven for cooking my meat joints and roasting chicken. Pkp 3ltr as stuff sticks to it Rice pudding , Philips Air fryer for my chips and onion rings while the steak is cooking in the Halogen oven.
My cousin was thinking of getting an air fryer and i bought her a Halogen oven years ago and not sure if used much.
As you said Oven is old might you be replacing it with another one that also has an Air fryer mode.? as less of us are using ovens now due to the amount of energy used and everybody told to buy an air fryer.
The latest add coming on phone is everybody ditching air fryers to use the halogen oven. Very like years ago from vinyl records to cds and now back to vinyl again.
I am lucky as have a shelf in passage way to store my units and when needed brought into kitchen. All depends on what you need to cook and the space needed..
Dont worry if you buy the wrong item we will let you know. SPOT ON.

My first air fryer was a Cosori but I have the ninja dual zone 9.5L and I love it but I would go back to the Cosori Dual zone if I had to replace my ninja. The Cosori turboblaze or the Dual Blaze are good if you like the oven style air fryer Cosori do the air fryer oven.
I also have the ninja speedy which I really like, (but don’t use as often) if I am doing a pasta dish with chicken, the idea is cook pasta or rice dish at bottom and cook your meat on the top shelf so all your meal is ready all at once, you just press the speedy meal button.
Hope you find the best air fryer for you

Have an instant pot which I presume is similar in what it does to yours. It is fine on the whole for two but difficult to cook whole meal other than one pot recipes. If I could I would buy an airfrier as well that has 2 drawers so could cook bigger variety of meals with the drawers one on top of the other so saves space in kitchen. Obviously has to be easily washable too.

I picked up a Daewoo branded air fryer from £19.99 from Farmfoods at the start of the year, it's the big glass bowl type with a halogen lamp in the top, it's absolutely fantastic. I've seen the same halogen air fryer with different brand names and various prices, I can't fault it, very basic temp/clockwork timer but hands down is the best of the 3 (fancy electronic, bucket types) I've owned previously.

Have a look at the Ninja Woodfire XL outdoor BBQ / air fryer and reclaim some counter space. Just bought one and it’s ace for hassle free midweek BBQ. Have used the air fryer function a good few times as well. Has bags of real estate for coming. Coming up to the right time of year also! It’s pricey but I’ve smoked ribs, briskets and chickens with no issues.

I just bought the Philips essential XL and more than happy with it, in fact it's superb! I guess the question is what kind of things are you looking to cook in it? That Ninja one you have is great for whole chickens especially in the pressure cooker but if you're looking for one for things like chicken breasts, chips, chops etc then the Philips one is excellent imo.

I'm seriously considering buying one. I have used a mini oven for years and they are great, the model I have now has an air fryer setting but I haven't really used it. My friend showed me her air fryer and it has a couple of shelves in it like an oven instead of the drawers in the front and looked easy enough to use, the reviews were quite positive except a common complaint was that the shelves aren't very secure. I've recently watched Jamie Oliver doing air fryer meals and he uses different types and makes it look so easy. Sometimes it's the worst thing to ask for opinions because everyone thinks their own is the best! My only problem is I have a small kitchen and need the bench space and I have no room to store a big appliance. I'd still like to try one though although it would be just another method of cooking along with the main oven and mini oven, I don't think I'd be using it exclusively. I'm in Australia and never heard of one combined with a pressure cooker, I've never used a pressure cooker! Hope you find the model for you 😊
