I wish more games showed off early development footage. So interesting to see how some of our favorite games looked during production and getting to see the mechanics we all love still being tested.
Yeah, but then some idiots say it looks unfinished as a bad thing, even though it is unfinished. GTA 6 leak for example

@@H_3_R_0- yeah, it's nice after release, but if they show development while making the game, that would be cool. But those dumb commenters is why we can't have that, and also lazy AAA companies
@@bearpoop720 I don't think they would go for that, since it could have a negative effect (Rockstar is rockstar and they know it would sell off anyways) couldn't say the same for all games. Post release reveal would be awesome though.
If anybody finds any good resources for that stuff, tell me about it. It took 18 years for me to finally get a good computer, so my plans and ability to carry them out are way out of balance. It's not made easier when my only real muses are all the perfectly polished triple A games I've played and seen after at least a year of established studio work
Its still insane to me that UNFINISHED protype swinging mechanics still somehow managed to look smoother, and better than the Marvel's Avengers swinging for Spider-Man.
well this game was made with spider-man in mind, Avengers was a dlc exclusive to one platform
@@joseph69271Fortnite isn't a game made with Spider-Man in mind and that event and implementation was better than anything Avengers put together about SM.
That is a lame excuse, if an update is being made but interferes directly with how the core product functions, works or is being designed, it shouldn't even be considered until further changes to make it the best possible, ignoring such a basic game design concept is the reason why most of the AAA market sucks these days.

@@nico_6729Not really. The ceiling on all levels was pretty low because most characters are ground level. The movement in the game is also slow in general. All flying characters need a boost just to fly at decent speeds. No matter what we wouldn’t have gotten the full spiderman experience Lol
@@joseph69271Seriously, how on earth did Fortnite manage to excel at Spiderman's web-swinging? It's a game primarily centered around shooting and fort construction, yet they pulled it off. However, Marvel's Avengers? It's more like web-swinging through molasses and wall-crawling like he's taking a leisurely stroll. The difference is just laughable.
The web swinging in this footage is amazing!
It seems like the player has a lot more control when web swinging in this prototype.
For real beside being unpolished it looks better it has more physics and weight to the swinging + the insane interactions with the pole.
What have they done ?

I always love seeing development, beta and prototype footages of my favorite games! In a way, it's sort of the video game equivalent to getting a behind the scenes look at a movie and it's sets and props

When I was a kid I played it it was meh but I did not want to play sports now 13 and I love this game
If you look at earlier footage of the game you can see that they took some animations out of the amazing spider man and amazing spider man 2 games and used them as testing then improved upon them which I think is sick
you know the marvel avengers swinging is bad when a prototype of a game has better swinging
And turned out into an absolute masterpiece!
GTA 6 Alpha Viewers be like: this looks so bad, good thing I lowered my expectations for this game.

Happy to see someone with knowledge about how games are actually made. It was actually shocking to see how much a game in development was being criticized. As an indie game dev it made me laugh at how dumb the "critiques" were.

This was the first and last time that we would ever get to see an insomniac title like spider man in early alpha. Although I think the newer games look amazing, they are basically just reusing a bunch of older assets so in about a month of development the game would already be playable but very incomplete

Wow there’s so much more directional control in this swinging! As much as everybody loves PS4’s swinging, it has a LOT of flaws that people are seemingly ignoring.
True that. Even when the game released, I had issues. Even though it's really good, there's things that they should improve on. (Being unable to touch the ground while you swing is one of them)
I'd say it also feels a bit slow, but I guess that's just because I'm so used to Web Of Shadows' fast speeds, so PS4 and Miles just feel a little slow when I play them.

I know it’s just pre alpha but you can tell the swinging is not as good but trial and error got us to today

I mean idk how much use it'll have but, it looks like we will get to do some slingshotting in 2. At least Miles does in the gameplay vid they showed off.

Man... It looks better than the final version. Look at the interactions with the poles, the weight Spider-Man has.
In the final game all you have to do is to hold R2 and you can go travel the map in scripted animations. There is not enough momentum and Spider-Man feels too soft. I wish they add more physics

Honestly is much better than TASM 2. Now i know people will argue about my opinion, but we *have* different opinions right? For me TASM 2 The Game is bad. Web swinging is clunky, story is boring. Overall for me it just bad
