The gold color really brings out the wood trim. So pretty

Golden yellow is one of my all time favorite colors for interior, and exterior. In the past one of our homes was painted Corn Yellow, on an Italianate, three story, Victorian.

I like every room you decorate. I'm gonna miss the dark colors. I really liked that coziness the darker paint brought to the room. It felt mysterious, cozy,luxurious. Although I do love the gold...
Thank you Georgia☺️☺️ I’ll be adding back the velvet and paisley draperies for fall and winter, and it will most definitely still be warm and cozy. They make the room so much darker anyway, so I think the combo will be great for the colder months☺️

i see mostly red here? (maybe its my screen). which i love to use in my winter decor with golds blacks browns & dark greens. i do use pink, mint green, & light pastels for spring & summer. i paint my walls neutrals & warm whites, most of my furniture is neutral & white so its all backdrop & then i can use & change the whole room with any & all colors to pop everywhere. your room looks lovely.

I came from Pinterest to your blog and then here lol. I LOVE your style. I am trying to decide what color your bottom kitchen cabinets are. I have lots of vintage pink and floral decor but my cabinets are all white. With the kids and dog getting bigger and playing outside so much I just cannot keep them clean and want to go darker. I’d love to know the color. Blessings to you.
Thank you so much Beth! The cabinets are actually a color called “Grand Smoky Mountain,” and it was an older colorplace color at Walmart. It’s a lovely warm gray that I have used everywhere because it matched some colors from the old house here. I believe you could go to Walmart and tell them the color. I know for sure you can go to Lowe’s and have it mixed just by telling them the color. However the last couple colors I have had them mix have been slightly off from the original color. But basically it’s a nice warm gray not too dark not too light☺️☺️
Your home is stunning! I loved the dramatic dark walls but your new color looks just as fabulous, in a different way. Was your fireplace mantle and surround original to the house or something you created yourself? I'd love to create something similar in my home. I love your videos! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much Nicole☺️ I built the mantel out of wood I restored that was saved from from my grand parents house - as is all the trim, doors, beadboard, etc., in our house☺️ I shared the process on Instagram stories but never actually put together a video of how I did it. Do you recall the color of your grey paint here or in your bedroom? I love the gold here but have a room I'm thinking of trying a warm grey in with everything else neutral.
The gray is called “dark umber” and it’s a Kilz color collection paint☺️☺️ It’s a beautifully warm color, and I admit I kind of miss having it but I really wanted to focus on the trim in these rooms☺️☺️
