  • With the silage shed full to the rafters following the clamp silage, a couple of fields of round bales are made to top up the winter feed. Looking almost as good as new the farms 18-year-old MF 6465 Dynashift and Claas Rollant 255 baler are followed by the MF 390 (now with it’s Duncan cab and upright exhaust back on) travels it’s way across the field with a Kveneland UN7515 trailed wrapper. Filmed in Cumbria July 2022.

      They certainly do John, their machinery despite it’s age is almost as good as new! They have a a classic Massey on the farm 40 years old that looks like new I’ll hopefully catch on film next Spring. Thanks once again John, always great to hear your comments. Cheers, David.

      Many thanks once again. Yes always nice to see an original condition and well-cared for Massey 300 series (especially a Duncan cab model) which this one certainly is. It’s knocking on 30 years old now and still looking great As always your watch and comment are greatly appreciated. Cheers David.

    I didn't even realize that 390 in your silage clamp video actually had one of those Duncan cab's on it, just removed for that job. They have an interesting look to them, certainly different than the standard cabs.

    • @davidwinthrop7077
      @davidwinthrop7077  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They certainly do, a lot more slimline than the standard versions but still plenty of room inside them. Yes just removed for 2-3 days of the year then straight back on for its normal duties of which there’s quite a few as it’s a versatile little tractor. Thanks once again for the watch and comment, always appreciated. Cheers, David.

    Great video David, brings back memories of one i used to have with the low profile removable cab, it also had front linkage fitted, sold a while ago put still in cumbria, them cabs still look good even after all these years, Steve .😃🙂👍

      Thanks again Steve. Those Duncan cabs do look good don’t they? Very slimline compared to the regular MF cab. Still at least half a dozen in my surrounding area so they were very popular around here. Unusual with a front linkage, not many fitted with that! Cheers, Dave.

    Good video, is that drew and Brian Taylor , I remember them being in classic tractor back years ago if it is them, it’s the qd cab on the 390 that got me thinking

      Hi there. I kind of make it a policy not to name the farm or owners but your not a million miles away if you know what I mean. Yes not that many 390s with Duncan QD cabs around but still a few in the Cumbrian area. Thanks for watching and enjoying the video, your comments are always appreciated. Cheers Dave

      @davidwinthrop7077  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Now John you’ve got me thinking there. I honestly don’t know but they certainly look different to the standard MF weights both in shape and colour. Next time I’m at the farm I’ll have to ask the owners because I’m intrigued now. Thanks for the great comment, I’ll let you know when I find out! Cheers, David.

    Brilliant to see the masseys at work David, that 390 looks interesting, odd looking little cab, but nice to see it with a cab on, do you know if it's a massey ferguson supplied one?

    • @davidwinthrop7077
      @davidwinthrop7077  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many thanks once again Jacob, your comments are always appreciated. It’s a Duncan quick detach cab on the 390, approved by Massey Ferguson and they offered it as an option from about 1990-97 when the 390 production run ended. Wasn’t that many made but there’s still a few kicking about Cumbria. Been a godsend to this farm having the option to remove it for buckraking as shown in my last video post. Cheers my friend, regards David.

      Thanks for the information David, always interesting to know more about these tractors. I had no idea that a removeable cab was a factory option, as you say for a farm like this it must be very very useful. I'll have to try and find one at work at some point, I do love this area for how many farms keep all their older massey machines and keep them in such good nick.

      You definitely need to catch one Jacob, probably not that many of them left now though a good handful in the area still. Yeh some lovely 20 year + Masseys in Cumbria, you caught a lovely MF 6265 earlier this year and a 4270 (I think) in 2021. Would love to photograph that 6255 at some point.
