    I've had mine for 12 years this year, never missed a beat, 53 plate, got nearly 9k hours and runs a John Deere F440r baler every summer in my contracting business, and on a hedge cutter all winter. She's outlasted a T3 6480. Don't think i would have the heart to sell her. Thanks for your videos 😊

      A fellow fan! I won't part with mine, and I can see a time when the next generation of enthusiasts will be looking for well maintained tidy examples like ours to restore. Because they are so simple and easy to work on. Thanks for watching.

    This tractor brings back a lot of memories for me. I'm french (sorry for my not perfect english) and my dad is a farmer. Back in 2003 or 2004, I dont' remember exactly, I was only 5 or 6 years old, this new tractor came in the farm, to replace the old 3085. It was beautiful, and one of the biggest tractor I've seen at the time. I remember that the front suspension was mind blowing for me, seeing the front moving up and down at the touch of a button, It was magic for me.
    I spend lot and lot of hours in with my father, plowing, and cutivating and lot of others things. It was a beast. The sound of the engine was incredible, and it was quite reliable. I learn to drive it at 8, and plowing, and cultivating my self after that. I loved this tractor, love the gearbox, the engine. It was as you said, simple. But for 120 hp, it was realy a powerful thing. Pulling a kuhn optimer 5 m behind him, a 18 tonnes trailer full of silage, he was doing it. Sadly, last year the tractor was sold for a more powerful fendt, a 714, which I don't really like, I am not a fond of the vario gearbox....
    6465 dynashift, one of the last real massey ferguson as you said.

    Nice handy looking tractor, not too big and awkward for a smaller jobs not too small for big jobs!! If it's like any of the Massey Ferguson's we ever ran they seem to be pretty easy on fuel,

    • @ClarenceFudWeasel
      @ClarenceFudWeasel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I forgot to mention that, it's very light on fuel, I can bale for two days easily on one tank full.

    I like a man who is enthusiastic about his breed of tractor.. Nothing ever been wrong with a Massey, incidently there was a few for sale at cheffins on Saturday gone. It was this northerners first visit and I throughly enjoyed it...👍

    Just found your channel via a link from Lord Muck. I love the system and still have the metal lapel badge from back in the day.
    Dad bought a new TE 20 in the early fifties which we used for twenty years, then the 35,135,65 .Still have the book that came with the “grey fergy”in the farm desk along with loads of other like stuff I can’t throw away but which no doubt will end up in a skip when I join the majority.ha.

    Massey are so good at building simple handy tractors like your 6465, reminds me a lot of our 5475, it’s identical spec with dyna 4, but with sisu engine by that time, keep the Massey films coming 👍

    Fab video, Ive a Perkins 2 6480 dyna 6 lovely tractor, but I still prefer the dynashift gearbox like you have, I think it's because you actually choose a gear via a gearlever based on what you think you need. Pre select on Dyna 6 means you return to the same start off gear at every junction, but as we all know not every junction is the same.
    Dynashift is just so easy to use, shame they ever stopped installing it.

    • @ClarenceFudWeasel
      @ClarenceFudWeasel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I completely agree with the Dyna 6. Also, the ones I used to drive were very slow to pick up when pulling away from a standstill. Dynashift every time!

    Left ag engineering 20 + years ago just as the 6200 series were coming in. Always rated the 3125 as the best Massey since the 135. Virtually bullet proof unless you had a 'clutchy' operator. Always thought the 6100 / 8100 range would suffer with poor electronics in later life and from what I hear, I dont think that I was too far out. Never driven a 6465, but it appears to be very familar in the cab. Sat in an 8S at a ploughing match last autumn and didnt have a clue what was what. Glad im out of the game now, especially with the heat we're having this harvest.

    • @ClarenceFudWeasel

      As far as I am aware, the only real difference was the MK1 had a Perkins 4.192 indirect injection engine. The MK2 had a 4.203 direct injection engine which was a 4.192 with a bigger bore and a different head. Everything else was pretty much the same I think.
