What happened to you Sam? How could you believe Catholicism. Repent and turn Back to faith in Jesus Alone. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
1 Timothy 3:15-16 New King James Version (NKJV) but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
A few days ago I was thinking to myself I need to pray more. While I was at work I found a random rosary on top of a trash can. I took it as a sign and now understand. Praise be to Jesus Christ!
My journey led me to the Catholic Church. I prayed about it and the Holy Spirit was bombarding me with all the information and signs that led me to the Catholic Church.
Sam, this discussion has helped me immensely! I want to immerse myself in the teaching of Christ. I want to the history, and belief it is important to get closer to God. I’m gonna check out the Roman Catholics just blocks from my house, and go from there.
i commend the try of sam to speak to speak greek and generally all the languages of scripture . It is a testimony of his truly restless soul in seeking the truth . Greetings to all and may the Lord keep you well from a greek orthodox christian!!!
That’s what I told my fiancé. We’re both Catholic and attend the Traditional Latin Mass. I almost became orthodox but it was divine intervention. I grew up Catholic. Didn’t know anything and never even tried. Became Protestant at 18. Then after reading the Bible and discerning and researching the early church, traditional marriage and seeing that orthodox and Catholics have been around a very long time and somewhat glancing over the church fathers, I was trying to decide whether to be Catholic or orthodox. I don’t want to get too far into details cause that’s not relevant to my point right now. Just know I prayed about it and a miraculous intervention happened and now I’m Catholic. But I did highly consider orthodoxy. I was praying about it for a year. And I’m not here to try to convert orthodox to the Catholic Church, cause they both come from the apostles. I just don’t know enough to be able to say why the other side is wrong, and I truly don’t know if I want to debate that (unless it’s the Lord’s will one day) as my current conviction is just for the reunification of the 2 churches. 1 Corinthians 1:10 But I will say I do believe the Catholic Church is the one true church. I just see Peter as the first pope and considering they didn’t travel to Rome yet and he was the leader among the apostles. There has to be 1 leader. But I have nothing but respect for my orthodox brother’s and sisters. This is just my conviction
I'd challenge your view point about traditional Latin mass. Is that the low mass or the high mass? I presume it's the 1962 Roman Missal. Correct me please, if not. And is it because it's in Latin or because it's just not in English? I m not interested in hearing about clown masses, because that's ridiculous. In what other languages have your attended mass?
@@Kitiwake I told my fiancé I’d like to attend other rites. Not change rites. I love being Roman Catholic. But there’s a Byzantine church near us we spoke about going to one time in the future and bringing our future kids occasionally (not regularly) to other rites. Like a field trip, to learn about others brothers and sisters in the one true church
Please search Vatican Audience Hall and see how it looks. When Jesus told Peter that He's going to build a church on this rock, He used a word Ekklẽsia, which means assembly, or gathering. Words like synagogues or Naon, means temple, are used in the book of gospel. But Jesus deliberately said Ekklẽsia, not synagogue or the temple. The gathering of Christians that is led by Peter appears right after the gospel of John, in the book of Acts. I believe that the first church of Peter, the Ekklẽsia that Jesus built on Peter was in Jerusalem, as we can clearly read on the book of Acts, the Bible. I don't downplay or ignore your journey to be where you're at right now, but just look at the Vatican Audience Hall. Look at the interior. Every single Pope sat between the fang since it was built. I studied architecture for months under a professor, and that building and the interior cannot look like that by chance. You have to very deliberately design it to look that way. The serpent look is intellectually designed, and they know it. I'm not trying to deny/debunk Roman Catholicism here. I'm talking about the current state, and the obviousness of it. That Audience Hall cannot look that way by accident. It cannot happen. It is impossible for that size of building, having that obvious desing, by accident. It is impossible. There are too much factors for architecturers to calculate. It cannot happen coincidently. They made it that way.
I was going to suggest him but I'm certain Sam is aware of him and so probably considers him a " popular YT apologist" not a scholar which is a shame because I believe he is BOTH!
Jay Dyer is very vocal and unfortunately very wrong about the filioque. If you want the truth you’ll listen to both sides and research. Check out Vatican Catholic video on the filioque.
Sam, you should know this by heart : John 15:26 - 26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father-the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father-he will testify about me.
As a Greek Orthodox Christian. The split between Catholics and Orthodox it is the filioque of catholics. Let me explain We Greek Orthodox Christians we believe that Is Heavenly Father that sends the Holy Spirit while Catholics with filioque meaning that Father and Son send the Holy Spirit that's what we learn.
Actually the breaking point of the schism between the west and the east was whether we should use unleavened or leavened bread during mass/liturgy, then the Filioque and way in the back papal claims. It’s so embarrassing honestly… we should be one as Jesus said. If a house is divided against itself it cannot stand.
@@radekofficial2919 Talk to the Pope that he thinks he is the head of the Church when in truth Head of the Church is Jesus Christ only. We Eastern Orthodox Church propose back then that all bishops whether it be the Bishop of Antiochea, Constantinople, Rome all are equals and the Head us Jesus. It was the Bishop of Rome that said "Peter has spoken" to invoke his authority above others.
@@dirmusloner7963 First of all, the pope is the head of the visible church, all Catholics, I hope, know that Jesus is the real head of the universal church. Furthermore, I have to disagree with you, the papacy is a divine institution established by Jesus himself. The successors of Peter (the first pope) is not just one amongst equals. He was given a special role to lead the whole church, and then his successors
@@radekofficial2919 My friend I might be a Greek Orthodox Christian but if you think about it the Real Head of the Church is Jesus Christ SON OF GOD our LORD AND SAVIOR. To me all bishops are humans therefore they are all equals.
@@dirmusloner7963 I just said it, the Pope (bishop of Rome) is head of the visible church here on earth, but the head of the church as a whole is God Jesus Christ. See “to me” it’s your personal opinion, not shared among church fathers. They saw the Church of Rome to be mother church and that all other churches in the whole world must agree with her.
2Corinthians 10:4 NLT - We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. Galatians 5:10 NLT - I am trusting the Lord to keep you from believing false teachings. God will judge that person, whoever he is, who has been confusing you.
Sam you are wrong on the Nicene-Constantopolitan Creed. It NEVER contained the filioque until the Catholic Church officially added it sometime after 800 AD.
It was added to address a heretical outbreak in Spain, but if you’re going to be honest, at least admit it was already taught in the Nicean period by eastern Fathers like St. Athanasius and St. Gregory of Nyssa.
@@anastasioskalliris6903 what is a lie? Let’s think about this really hard- assuming Rome added the Filioque around 800 A.D., the Eastern sect was soooo upset with the addition of “and the Son” that it took them nearly 300 years to separate from Rome? Have you really studied this, or are you defensively posturing?
Listen the the pope of the west at the time added in the filioque without consulting the east and it wasn't an issue for about 400 years. There are theogical differences between the 2 churches but also a lot of the reason for the split was also political. I personally don't agree with the Roman catholic version of the creed because that wasn't the original creed from the early church. And they changed it without consulting the councils. Not to mention massive theological implications. Like the fact that the filioque causes an imbalance within the trinity. But nonetheless I love the Roman Catholics I was born in Roman Catholicism. Now I want to become Eastern Orthodox.
@ the pope didn’t need to consult the east. Orthodox bishops had already confessed the Filioque in their teachings on the Trinity, and as such the Filioque does not change the teaching but further explains it. It’s ironic the east laments the Filioque but fully breaks from the Trinity by teaching Palamism, the heresy that the energies of God are really distinct from the essence of God, creating multiple gods.
I feel like sam will be orthodox in a few year because of this pope argument but he still feels the spirit comes from Jesus too either way he feels Christ in strong in both churches
I believe he already attends Catholic mass. He also mentioned that the Orthodox church does not recognize his baptism so he leans towards Catholicism more if i'm not mistaken.
Before Peter it was James. In 1054 they splitted because the catholics changed the original creed which was a red line for orthodox people. About the pope issue, there where 5 headchurches and only one said that the pope was the head of all. The other 4 rejected this
Acts 15, a number of factors point to Peter actually being both the leader at the council and the leader of the early Church. First, there is the manner in which his speech begins and ends. By standing up to speak after the debate had subsided, Peter made an emphatic physical gesture affirming his authority and centrality. The silence afterwards indicated the finality of what Peter had just said; no one disputes either his speech or his right to make it. In fact, the witness of Paul and Barnabas, along with James’s speech, only reinforce and agree with what Peter says. One can only conclude that commentators and scholars who take issue with Peter’s primacy have, for various reasons, taken an anti-Catholic, anti-papal stance. They labor under a skewed understanding of what the papacy is and how the papal office relates to the Church as a whole. As a result, they are prone to interpret Peter’s actions and the history of the early Church incorrectly. If James was the leader of the early Church, or even the first pope, why aren’t his successors the head of the universal Church? These and related questions are not adequately addressed by those who say James, not Peter, was the leader of the early Church.
We know at council of Constance 1462, all of the Orthodox bishops recognized the supremacy of the pope, the holder of the chair of Peter and bishopric of Rome.
Sam has the Spirit on him. his wisdom is like its “preinstalled”. “The Lord made me at the beginning of His creation, before His works of long ago. 23 I was formed before ancient times, from the beginning, before the earth began. 24 I was brought forth when there were no watery depths and no springs filled with water. 25 I was brought forth before the mountains and hills were established, 26 before He made the land, the fields, or the first soil on earth. 27 I was there when He established the heavens, when He laid out the horizon on the surface of the ocean, 28 when He placed the skies above, when the fountains of the ocean gushed forth, 29 when He set a limit for the sea so that the waters would not violate His command, when He laid out the foundations of the earth. 30 I was a skilled craftsman beside Him. I was His delight every day, always rejoicing before Him. 31 I was rejoicing in His inhabited world, delighting in the human race.” - Proverbs 8:22-31 (Wisdom speaks)
When the Pope (can't remember if it was John Paul the 2nd or Francis) visited Romania, he recited the Niceean Creed in the Orthodox version. It was said at the time that this was an acknowledgement by the Roman Catholics that Filioque was not part of the original text.
When Pope Francis visited Romania, he did not say the Creed in the Orthodox version to prove something. He was simply being polite, following local traditions. The same courtesy that he gave every year, at Easter, with the greeting Urbi et Orbi (for each nation, in its language). Rather, the meaning as received by the Romanians of the visit was that it is necessary to put aside the small differences (which now really seem insignificant), in front of tthe bad omens that arise in the future.
1 Timothy 3:15-16 New King James Version (NKJV) but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
The creed Sam read is not the Nicean creed, but the Constantinopolitan creed of the second universal (ecumenical/catholic) council (synod) from 381. It took the Niceean text regarding the Father and the Son, enriched it and added the text regarding the Holly Spirit, the Church, baptize and the expectance of the final resurrection.
"AND I HEARD ANOTHER VOICE FROM HEAVEN, SAYING, COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE, THAT YE BE NOT PARTAKERS OF HER SINS, AND THAT YE RECEIVE NOT OF HER PLAGUES. FOR HER SINS HAVE REACHED UNTO HEAVEN, AND GOD HATH REMEMBERED HER INIQUITIES"... REVELATION 18: 4-5
Im catholic (roman) but ive nothing but love for the eastern orthodox. Ill just say this, if anyone is drawn to catholic church. Go to a few different parishes. Many have deteriorared to the point they have LBGTxyz flags and no reverence in their liturgy and rarely offer confession (and their houses are being left desolate). Find a church that has reverent liturgy, is vibrant, is conservative. Some ppl might even prefer the trad latin mass. I dont but God bless them. Listen carefully to the homilies, make sure the priest isnt a heretic, see if the parish helps the poor and the sick before joining one or enrolling in RCIA etc
Jesus Christ established only One True Apostolic Catholic Church with His apostles in 33AD. He gave us His Clergy, Doctrine, Sacraments and Teachings; then taught and prayed everyone would remain in His Church. He taught we’re to remain in His Doctrine or we don’t have Him. 2Jn1:9 Our Orthodox brothers rejected parts of Gods Doctrine so in 1054AD they broke away. The Filioque is part of Gods Doctrine that The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and Son. Scripture reveals that the Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. The external relationships of the persons of the Trinity mirror their internal relationships. Just as the Father externally sent the Son into the world in time, the Son internally proceeds from the Father in the Trinity. Just as the Spirit is externally sent into the world by the Son as well as the Father (John 15:26, Acts 2:33), he internally proceeds from both Father and Son in the Trinity. This is why the Spirit is referred to as the Spirit of the Son (Gal. 4:6) and not just the Spirit of the Father (Matt. 10:20). The earliest Church Fathers attested to this truth. JN1:9, 2 Thess3:6-16, Rom16:17, Heb 13:9, Gal 1:6-9, 2 Cor 11:3-4, 2 Thess 2:13-14, Jn10:16, 17:20-26, Eph4:4-6 His Catholic Church is His Bride, the pillar and foundation of truth. Eph5:22-33, Rev 22:17, 1 Tim 3:15
Catholics include "from the Son" because Jesus said He will send "The Spirit". It's there in the Gospels. I highlighted it in my 3-book series: "The Life & Works of Jesus in Sequence"
The Filioque debate is one that's far beyond my understanding, but one thing I recall hearing from the Orthodox side is that "sending" and "proceeding" aren't the same thing (don't ask me how, lol 😂). Orthodox apologists also claim that there is only one bible verse that mentions the procession of the Holy spirit: John 15:26 - "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me." Another main issue they bring up about the Filioque is the fact the Photian council condemned the Filioque (Rome accepted this council for 200 years). Again, this topic is way beyond me. This is just what I recall hearing from the Orthodox side of things, God bless you! 🙏
It's important to note that the main reasons the Catholic and Orthodox churches split were political. The fillioqe and other theological differences was just an excuse.
Filoque was a excuse to give the back on Peter's Cathedra.. in fact the main reason was the species in eucharist.. bread just with yeast or without It too.. and also with wine always! Meanwhile in Catholic Church there are both of the form of the species in eucharist and Filoque subject was largely discussed on Catholic Church even given the division
Many people think that the Great Schism was at 1050th but on contrary it was at 5th Century in 451 because of Council of Chalcedon, lead to Oriental Orthodox(Non chalcidonian) and Chalcidonian( Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodoxs). The bitter fact that much ignored.
The result of the Interdenominational Theological Commission, which includes Catholic and Orthodox theologians, is that there is no difference in substance between the form of the filioque in the Catholic Creed and the Orthodox Creed, which does not contain the filoique itself. The reason for calling "phlioque" as a heresy by the Orthodox in the Middle Ages was the misunderstanding of the terminology of some Latin words by the Orthodox Greeks. It took time and good will to come to the understanding that the Latin Credo does not fundamentally contradict the Constantinople Creed adopted by the Church at the Ecumenical Council in 381. At present, the question of the primacy of the Pope remains open. But, obviously, love and Christ's call "That all may be of one accord" will help to reach an agreement...
@@cardriverfreerider9783 untrue ! there s big theological problem with filioque - first one needs to know church history and have the original documents .THEN one must know and understand ecclesiology - because certain parts of vatican are messed up in this . third is the theology which is even more complicated because filioque has great impacts in the rest of the true teaching . so it is not matter of translation only .- THE TRUE GREEK TEXT is very clear ! in latin translation they translated with a verb that has double meaning but it s not only that the fault ! It s the theology behind it that is false with filioque ! -- church fathers never taught filioque and this is prooven by serious katholic scholars - after really long research - which concluded that the vatican records that contained filioque ,-, were not the originals .what happened is that vatican people ADDED FILIOQUE IN THEIR DOCUMENTS MUCH LATER - so that is why now they reprint the original without filioque !- because it wasn t there in the first place ! now that the truth is out vatican needs to clear out the false !
Regarding marriage, if you've had a child with your girlfriend (not yet wife), that, in my view, constitutes the permanent fulfillment of "the two shall become one flesh" in that child of theirs. So even though they've not been sacramentally married, they are de facto married.
Praying to Mary no thank you Jesus. Christ is my Lord and Savior and he is everything. I don’t need some selective Christianity telling me who I need to pray to when Christ tells me everything. I’m a Christian a follower of Christ not a Catholic not a protestant not a Baptist, a Christ follower.
The Orthodox churches as they are known today essentially came into being after they backpedaled on Laetantur Caeli. After that was the point of no return. Forget 1054. Grateful to be Byzantine Catholic, I was Orthodox for 6 years
@@andrewg37 In all honesty, I've tried to watch Wagner, but he seems like a nice guy that's out of his league. God bless us all and lead us into the truth.
Many people commented on this post should remember many things we now consider as basic faith are coming from Catholic Church...such as The Bible, or Trinity ...Trinity is not a term you find in the Bible, but it is a term that Catholic Church invented to explain Triune God, a very difficult faith that is One God but Three separate persons: God, The Father, God The Son Jesus Christ and God The Holy Spirit. Yes, the term Trinity created by Catholic Church, and it's not in The Bible, but Yes, now every Christian believe it as a matter of fact, the truth all Christians have to believe to be a christian. So you can not cross out Catholic Church and believe only Bible. We all need The infallible Church to interpret The infallible Bible. And that infallible Church is Catholic Church built by Jesus Christ Himself.
Btw not all eastern Catholics say it like the orthodox. I’m Maronite eastern Catholic, and we say, and believe the Filioque (through Father and the Son)
Let's just say the papacy is valid for a second and they did have these keys along with others.. would Jesus who is God Himself also have these keys?? Well obviously of course! So just as the papacy makes decrees about who is of "there" church and this and that on doctrinal issues.. isn't Jesus words the first and ultimate papal Decree of what is bound and loosed above all decree!! Understanding this IS the KEY! So no pope could ever truly deny salvation or decide who could be saved or not because Christ set the PARAMOUNT papal decree the supersedes any other!! So when Jesus say "all who come to me I will in no wise EVER CAST OUT" Means that Jesus himself with His ultimate Key, for He is God ,will always be of a greater decree than any earthy office such as the pope, by his already supreme word! So anyone who comes to Jesus in any fashion will be SAVED despite any earthly papal decree since Christ decree HIMSELF already overrules it. Jesus wins. "Behold I place before you an open door that NO MAN can shut"... no pope or any other can close The door to salvation Jesus has opened to all with His Almighty Keys.
Sorry, but that’s not what “bound on earth/bound in heaven means”. The phrase "binding and loosing" comes from rabbis and refers to the authority to make decisions that are binding on the people of God. This authority includes: Interpreting and applying the Word of God Admitting people to and excommunicating them from the community of faith.
@@mongo64071that's what I said?? I'm telling you that Jesus has those keys and rules above any ruling on earth that contradicts scripture..and why??? .....secret here.. everyone has those keys. @joebobjenkins7837 The evidence indicates that Peter was in Rome at the end of his career, and that he was martyred there, along with Paul, around A.D. 67. In 1 Peter 5:13, Peter writes, “She who is at Babylon, who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings; and so does my son Mark.” This is commonly understood as a greeting on behalf of the church in Rome to the churches to whom Peter was writing (1 Pet. 1:1). The term “Babylon” is understood as a code word for Rome, based on the fact that Babylon was a great persecutor of God’s people in the Old Testament. This usage also may be reflected in Revelation’s depiction of the Whore of Babylon (see Day 190). The Church Fathers make it even clearer that Peter was in Rome e.g. The evidence indicates that Peter was in Rome at the end of his career, and that he was martyred there, along with Paul, around A.D. 67. Thus St. Ignatius of Antioch, writing around A.D. 110 (a mere for- ty-three years after Peter’s martyrdom) writes a letter to the church at Rome in which he states: “I do not, as Peter and Paul, issue commandments to you. They were apostles; I am but a condemned man: They were free, while I am, even until now, a servant” (Letter to the Romans 4). Around 170, St. Dionysius of Corinth wrote to Pope Soter and stated: “You have thus by such an admonition bound together the planting of Peter and of Paul at Rome and Corinth. For both of them planted and taught us in Corinth. And they taught together in Italy, and suffered martyrdom at the same time” (cited in Eusebius, Church History 2:25:8). To quote a third source from the second century, St. Irenaeus of Lyons wrote around A.D. 189: “Matthew also issued among the He- brews a written Gospel in their own language, while Peter and Paul were evangelizing in Rome and laying the foundation of the Church” (Against Heresies, 3:1:1).
I always agreed with Sam’s view points until 2 days ago when I found out he’s Catholic. I’ve watched about 15 videos of him since then defending the Catholic faith and I’m shocked and in disbelief. SMH.
He was talking to people that understood the sin sacrificed (animal) was eaten by the sinners-Jesus is saying I am the sin sacrifice and unless you eat me as your sin sacrifice you are not letting me into you as you did with the animal sin sacrifice that you ate. When you accept me as your sin sacrifice the Holy Spirit enters you. The people he was talking to should have understood the sacrifices they practice in. That sin sacrifice covered their sin and Jesus as their sin sacrifice took away their sin.
Sam sometimes doesn’t listen slowly enough and he assumes what someone is going to say and gets it wrong. Right when the video started the kid wanted to learn about the differences between the church and used a married couple on the channels mention of it and Sam heard that and started talking about marriage differences and asking if the kid was married lol. Sam… slow down sometimes buddy and you’d know he was curious to leave a prot church and is asking which of the 2 churches should he join. Hope that helps Sam, if you read any of these. God bless brother
There was a split at the Great Schism because the bishops of the East rebelled against the established authority of the Pope. They do not have the fulness of the faith because they do not have the same concept of the Primacy of Peter as Catholics do. If the schism had not occurred then they would still be united with the Pope and we would all be united in one faith under one shepherd. They have gone seriously astray in allowing remarriage after 2 divorces which is contrary to Christ's teaching. If this young man has a preference for the Eastern Orthodox liturgical tradition of John Chrysostom then there is no shortage of Eastern Catholic options which are in communion with the Pope and which share the Roman Catholic teaching on divorce and remarriage. So the fulness of faith also includes recognising the Primacy of the Pope and rejection of divorce to end a sacramental marriage. Only death can end a marriage. "What God has joined together may no man put asunder". Admittedly Catholicism is horribly abusing annulments but this is a corruption of an administrative process and not the corruption of doctrine as the Eastern Orthodox have done. So why would westerner would consider Eastern Orthodoxy if he could return to his true western roots of Roman Catholicism? It's beyond me. And even if he had an Eastern background, why would he join the Eastern Orthodox and not an Eastern Catholic church?
the church is the completion to the jewish law. the 613 laws are not salvational anymore u need to come into the church which Christ established. he gave a new covenant the 613 laws are the old covenants and anybody who goes to the old covenant is accursed and cannot have salvation.
It can’t hurt to know them, but you shouldn’t be tied to anything other than the first 10. All the others are in service in their own context to the 10.
@ Sam Shamoun ...Wish you would use the Bible without the revisions. Along with the prayers that have changed some words from the traditional ones we grew up with. As for prayer books, I get nothing dated after 1960/62. And the Douay Rheims Bible.
Your greek is in very good shape. Specially the toning. We'll done. On the side note filioque the pope not wrong the baptism in age of reasoning and that orthodox head is Jesus can't make me be fond with catholics. Also purgatory vs theosis that orthodoxy teaches is a confusing matter for me but I believe theosis is the way . I do respect them tho.
Sam I am Greek……your Greek has to improve by….a lot bro, now please find out what Orthodox translates to in Greek, let’s start from that . The biggest difference between the two variables for us Orthodox is that in the Catholic church, the pope is considered to be infallible. Only the holy trinity is infallible and no man is to claim that he is. Therefore here is the answer for the question of why there is a split. All the rest of the differences are insignificant IMHO. Peace and may our Lord Jesus Christ bring both churches together. I believe this year Easter will be jointly celebrated by the pope and the universal archbishop which is a great step forward. May God bless us all, amen.
When you marriage in the Catholic the couple receives an Angel for their family. Maybe that's why they are a bit strick on this... but you can ask for anulment, a lot of cases there are completly valid reasons for anulment, however I'm not sure if the bishops(?) have been understanding about this or are they being stuburn. Honestly I'm not aware of what's going on rigth now

Sam, this is a tiny fragment of the BIBLICAL problems with the Catholic Church: In number 963 of the official Catholic Catechism, it says Mary is the Mother of GOD, and the Mother of the Church. In 966 it says, "She ascended into Heaven as "Queen over ALL things." And it says she, by her prayers will deliver all souls from death. 968 says, "She (Mary) is the mother to us in the order of grace.". 969 says Mary continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation. In 972 it says, "Mary is the image and beginning of the Church. The Catechism also says "The Muslim is saved because he worships the one true God that we as Catholics worship, however, Protestants are NOT saved because they have left the Catholic Church. I could go on and on. The Catholic Church without a doubt worships Mary. The Catholic Catechism in 1129 says, “…the sacraments of the New Covenant are necessary for salvation.” The BIBLE says, in Eph. 2:8, “Salvation is by faith, through grace, NOT WORKS…” Eph. 2:10 then says, “we are saved UNTO good works.” The Catechism in 2010 says, “…we can then merit for ourselves graces needed for sanctification…and the attainment of eternal life.” The BIBLE in Romans 11:6 says, “God’s grace-His undeserved kindness in choosing them…it is not by their good works.” The Catechism in 846 says, “…the (Catholic) Church is necessary for salvation.” The BIBLE says in Acts 4:12 concerning the name of Jesus, “there is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.” The Catechism says, in 1339 talks of the bread and the wine becoming the body and blood of Jesus. The BIBLE in 1 Peter 2:24 says, “He (JESUS) personally carried our sins in his body on the cross.” The Catechism in 1323 says, “the Savior instituted the Eucharist to perpetuate the sacrifice of the cross through the ages…” The BIBLE in John 13:30 has Jesus ON THE CROSS, saying, “It is finished.” The Catechism in 552, 765, and 880 says, “Peter is the head of the Apostles. The BIBLE in John 13:13 declares Jesus to be the disciples’ Lord and Teacher. The Catechism in 964 intimates that Mary’s union with Christ is inseparable from Christ in the work of salvation; making Mary a co-redeemer with Jesus. The BIBLE has Jesus Himself saying, “I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father (Heaven) but through Me.” The catechism in 2677 attributes the role of Mediatrix to Mary, but the BIBLE in 1Timothy 2:5 says, “There is one God and ONE mediator…the man, Christ Jesus.” The Catechism in 841 says, the Catholic Church and the Muslim faith both believe in the same God. However, the Muslim god does NOT have a son, per Islam. By the way, NO WHERE in the Bible does it ever say, that Mary is the mother of God (she was the earthly mother of the human nature of Jesus who was still God from eternity past) nowhere in the BIBLE does it ever say to pray to Mary or the saints, nowhere in the BIBLE does it ever say Mary was or is a PERPETUAL virgin, in fact Matthew 13:35 speaks of her other children, four sons by name and at least two sisters. The Greek words in this passage does NOT allow for cousins, but is properly translated brothers and sisters. Nowhere in the BIBLE does it ever say Mary was immaculately conceived, nor does it ever say that she was sinless or rose bodily into Heaven; these concepts are NOT in the BIBLE! I could go on and on. There are many, many more areas where the Catholic Church has added to scripture doctrines that are not there and, in fact, go totally against the BIBLE. Read Psalm 119, 160 plus verses all saying the Bible is God's word, precepts, decrees, commandments, ordinances, not the Catholic church or the magisterium's. John 14:26 says, "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you ALL THINGS and will remind you of everything I have said to you. AND 2 Timothy says, "All scripture is God breathed...that the man of God may be fully equipped." No mention of any needed help by the Magisterium, or the Catholic Church. Sam, even a counterfeit $100 bill, on the surface, looks like a real $100 bill, but it is STILL a counterfeit. The Catholic Church has many Biblical doctrines and practices, but also MANY that are NOT Biblical, and some that are downright blasphemous.
In all these points the Church is right. As for Mary Mother of God, it comes from the Council of Ephesus 431. Don’t you know anything about the Church History and the first centuries of christianity?
When the second commandment was revealed onto Moses, it was clear. However when God ordained the ark of the covenant to be made, he said that two cherubim be made on top of it aiming its wings to one another. Cherubim are angelic creatures, eventually Saul and even David prayed, danced, prostrated themselves through the ark to God. In a Protestant point of view it contradicts itself. Why did God allow the cherubim to be made, fully knowing it’s a figure from heaven?
There's only one Church technically it's Catholic is Catholic means Universa in who Christ is the high priest however in the Bible in the New Testament I believe in the book of Philippians or letter to the Ephesians and perhaps in Revelation it speaks about the church in the end times is the Church of God that is the true church the Church of God all the churches who believe in the trinity and worship Christ are the Church of God but the one I go to actually one of the several churches I go to is the Church of God and they r a Pentecostal Church. truly church is not a building built with hands we ourselves are the church if the spirit dwells within us and our body becomes the temple or Tabernacle hence the name the body of Christ
But when we get to heaven it's not like there's going to be a section for the Catholics and the section for the Baptist and the Presbyterians over here did charismatics over here the Baptist over in that section it's all one body no division there shouldn't be no division it's crazy there's a 40,000 different denominations in the world today that all say they believe in Christ but they have different beliefs and many contentions indiscrepancies on the word so who's to say I pray that the holy spirit gives us discernment God will bring his people together and separate the wheat from the chaff and I know that he's doing just that does not matter where you're at God will meet you there because he is good all the time amen. And Jesus loves you shalom Israel
Factually, there are not two versions of the Nicean creed; there is only one. Any addition or subtraction made to the Nicean creed forms another creed. This is not to be prejudicial, but only truthful.

Glory to Jesus Christ. May God bless this young man in his journey and Sam in his guidance.
My journey led me to the Catholic Church. I prayed about it and the Holy Spirit was bombarding me with all the information and signs that led me to the Catholic Church.
Thank you, for obeying the prompting of the Holy Spirit.❤

You won’t stand before Sam on judgement day.
Sam, this discussion has helped me immensely! I want to immerse myself in the teaching of Christ. I want to the history, and belief it is important to get closer to God. I’m gonna check out the Roman Catholics just blocks from my house, and go from there.
Man you are picking very good parts. Nice job brother! Glory to God!
I love you brother Sam!! May God bless you many times this day!!
i commend the try of sam to speak to speak greek and generally all the languages of scripture . It is a testimony of his truly restless soul in seeking the truth . Greetings to all and may the Lord keep you well from a greek orthodox christian!!!
If you really studied the church history, then you will end up either catholic or orthodox. Great closing statement.
1 Corinthians 1:10
But I will say I do believe the Catholic Church is the one true church.
@@Kitiwake I go to the low mass sometimes, but usually high mass. Yea it’s the 1962

Jay Dyer is a great Orthodox apologist that can explain the theological affect of the filioque and the history of it's institution in the RC creed.
I was going to suggest him but I'm certain Sam is aware of him and so probably considers him a " popular YT apologist" not a scholar which is a shame because I believe he is BOTH!
Mr. Dyer is a "scholar" to those who know nothing of sound theology. A little knowledge is dangerous, especially with a little pride.

@@kimberHD45 Lies !!

25 I was brought forth before the mountains and hills were established,
26 before He made the land, the fields, or the first soil on earth.
27 I was there when He established the heavens, when He laid out the horizon on the surface of the ocean,
28 when He placed the skies above, when the fountains of the ocean gushed forth,
29 when He set a limit for the sea so that the waters would not violate His command, when He laid out the foundations of the earth.
Jesus taught us about water baptism, how to pray, about faith and love, humility, holy eucharist

Sam, you better ask about the holy eucharist in the Catholic church, if not already done.
Never saw that even once
Orthodox apologists also claim that there is only one bible verse that mentions the procession of the Holy spirit:
John 15:26 - "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me."
Another main issue they bring up about the Filioque is the fact the Photian council condemned the Filioque (Rome accepted this council for 200 years).
Again, this topic is way beyond me. This is just what I recall hearing from the Orthodox side of things, God bless you! 🙏
Objectively objective vs traditionally objective. Since traditional is subjective, objectively objective Roman Catholic Church wins every single time.

-- church fathers never taught filioque and this is prooven by serious katholic scholars - after really long research - which concluded that the vatican records that contained filioque ,-, were not the originals .what happened is that vatican people ADDED FILIOQUE IN THEIR DOCUMENTS MUCH LATER -
so that is why now they reprint the original without filioque !- because it wasn t there in the first place !
now that the truth is out vatican needs to clear out the false !

So when Jesus say "all who come to me I will in no wise EVER CAST OUT"
Means that Jesus himself with His ultimate Key, for He is God ,will always be of a greater decree than any earthy office such as the pope, by his already supreme word!
This authority includes:
Interpreting and applying the Word of God
Admitting people to and excommunicating them from the community of faith.
@@mongo64071that's what I said?? I'm telling you that Jesus has those keys and rules above any ruling on earth that contradicts scripture..and why??? .....secret here.. everyone has those keys.
"The excellency of power is of God and not of us" ... I'm glad because the Catholic Church has fabricated some seriously dumb stuff.
Some of these anathema's are trash that the Lord Jesus laughs and crumples and nails to the cross...

Riddle me this, there is absolutely no record of any kind that Peter every set foot in Rome. All we have shows he stayed in Jerusalem. At the least, the lineal authority should come from the Bishop at Jerusalem.
Saint Peter and Saint Paul were crucified in Rome in around 58 A D. But Saint Peter was never a Pope The first popes started with Pope Gregory the Great who introduced the pagan concept of purgatory but it was first utilized for profit by Pope Sixtus 4th in 1460
@@seanrathmakedisciples1508Peter was the first pope where Jesus said to him directly "on this rock I will build my church and no one can destroy it until the end of the world, whatever u bin on earth will be bin in heaven whatever u free on earth is free in heaven" this part is the confession the forgiveness of sin the sacrament. Jesus set the sacrament the forgiveness of sins by himself so don't say why catholic confess sins to a priest
@joebobjenkins7837 The evidence indicates that Peter was in Rome at the end of his career, and that he was martyred there, along with Paul, around A.D. 67.
In 1 Peter 5:13, Peter writes, “She who is at Babylon, who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings; and so does my son Mark.”
This is commonly understood as a greeting on behalf of the church in Rome to the churches to whom Peter was writing (1 Pet.
SMH.
Oh boo hoo guess it shows you how little you really know.
Which Orthodox church believe in the Archaegel Uriel?

Sam are u to buay keeping the religion or letting jesus take over ?
As a non Jewish believer in the father YAHWEH should I learn the 613 laws
the church is the completion to the jewish law. the 613 laws are not salvational anymore u need to come into the church which Christ established. he gave a new covenant the 613 laws are the old covenants and anybody who goes to the old covenant is accursed and cannot have salvation.
read the books Paul wrote in the new testament for your answer.
It can’t hurt to know them, but you shouldn’t be tied to anything other than the first 10.
All the others are in service in their own context to the 10.

Catholic’s don’t regard the Orthodox Church as heretical but merely as schismatic.
The Catholic Church uses both the Nicene Creed and the Apostles' Creed

Your greek is pretty good
Sam, this is a tiny fragment of the BIBLICAL problems with the Catholic Church:
In number 963 of the official Catholic Catechism, it says Mary is the Mother of GOD, and the Mother of the Church.
2:10 then says, “we are saved UNTO good works.”
The Catechism in 2010 says, “…we can then merit for ourselves graces needed for sanctification…and the attainment of eternal life.” The BIBLE in Romans 11:6 says, “God’s grace-His undeserved kindness in choosing them…it is not by their good works.”
The Catechism in 846 says, “…the (Catholic) Church is necessary for salvation.” The BIBLE says in Acts 4:12 concerning the name of Jesus, “there is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.”
The Catechism says, in 1339 talks of the bread and the wine becoming the body and blood of Jesus. The BIBLE in 1 Peter 2:24 says, “He (JESUS) personally carried our sins in his body on the cross.”
The Catechism in 1323 says, “the Savior instituted the Eucharist to perpetuate the sacrifice of the cross through the ages…” The BIBLE in John 13:30 has Jesus ON THE CROSS, saying, “It is finished.”
The Catechism in 552, 765, and 880 says, “Peter is the head of the Apostles. The BIBLE in John 13:13 declares Jesus to be the disciples’ Lord and Teacher.
The Catechism in 964 intimates that Mary’s union with Christ is inseparable from Christ in the work of salvation; making Mary a co-redeemer with Jesus. The BIBLE has Jesus Himself saying, “I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father (Heaven) but through Me.”
The catechism in 2677 attributes the role of Mediatrix to Mary, but the BIBLE in 1Timothy 2:5 says, “There is one God and ONE mediator…the man, Christ Jesus.”
The Catechism in 841 says, the Catholic Church and the Muslim faith both believe in the same God.
Really hoping SS to elaborate on these points...
In all these points the Church is right. As for Mary Mother of God, it comes from the Council of Ephesus 431. Don’t you know anything about the Church History and the first centuries of christianity?

So you worship Mary?
