I'm a Catholic, but I don't worship man-made idols like statues that resemble Jesus and other saints. According to some Catholic priests, the images serve us as our Isus and saints in physical form. I don't think so!
@@fivenightsatfreddys9369 So is your Prophet Sulayman. , it is mentioned that Prophet Solomon (peace be upon him) was served by the jinn and they built lofty palaces and statues for him as he wished. It was so funny coz you don't know????? Lol
But where does the bible or God say to put up statues of the Saints and Mary? Or pray to Mary? Jesus is our Mediator between we unrighteous sinners to God the Father. When we are Saved by the blood of Christ, we are all Saints.
God is dwelling in the ark of Mercy in the temple. Mary and the Saints are not God, they do not dwell there, they are in heaven, not in statues. It is different.
Make sure you study for yourself this is good and ask the Holy Spirit for discernment. Timothy was told by the Apostle Paul to study so he could rightly divide the word of truth. Keep in mind that at that time all Timothy had was the Old Testament and Paul. When Paul was convert he was able to go back to the old testament with his new found knowledge in Christ and rightly divide the word so that he was no longer deceived by what the Pharisees were teaching. I would never kiss the feet of a statue or pray to any Saint which is one of who you are if you believe. It is not documented that Paul kissed the feet of a statue of Moses or any other statue of any Prophets or Kings good or bad. A cartoon is not a statue it is a story like the words on a page. Peter reminds people not to bow down to him, the angels reminded John not to bow to them they were just servants. We are told how to pray by Jesus. If you ask most Catholics, why do you think God will let you into heaven? They will always point to themselves and not Jesus. The reason why is they are being led wrong. It is our responsibility to lead people to Jesus and no one else. If you need something you ask in Jesus’s name or ask for a righteous man of God who is living on this planet to pray with you. This is biblical. Sam knows a lot of the Bible which is good but he is also fallible because he is human. Even Peter along with Paul made human errors. Will people who bow to statues and act as if they are the real Peter or Mary or even use them as figures of heaven going to hell? I say no as long as they know who their savior is. Jesus is the only right of passage to heaven. Do Peter and Mary hear you when you ask them to pray for you to Jesus or pray directly to them for help? I say know if anyone hears you it is the demons who may be able to answer some of your prayers. Why would they you ask? To keep you coming back to them. Again I say, read your word and do what the Lord teaches us, know His heart. God does not want you to be deceived even by the ignorant. Blessings
Me too! I've been searching for God these last 4 years and just found who He is about a week ago. I found that I had to let go of everything I thought I knew EVERYTHING so The Holy Spirit could perfect everything going in and exiting all things that hindered me. I am so blessed that God made me watch this. I am a Christian and my whole family is Roman Catholic. I was burdened of the thought that my family is sinning of idolatry but I remember my mother once said to me that they are praying to God. And my father when I was little once said that Jesus is the Son of God. I now realize that the image of Jesus in our home serves as a reminder to my family that Jesus is alive and that they do not worship that image and do not offer their prayers to an idol. God bless you Sam in Jesus name. May God raise more people like you.

The key issues are NOT WORSHIPPING them; NOT PUTTING OUR FAITH in them. On the other hand, we could be worshiping the human body, money, a car, etc., depending on what is the thought-process in our heart & mind.
The bible is literally telling you not to fabricate images etc AND not to bow down to them. How many millions of Christians are kneeling to statues of Mary,Saints, Jesus in direct violation of God's commandments. "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;"
2 cor 6:16 What agreement has the temple of God with the idols? For we are the temple of living God; as God said I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them and I will be their God and they shall be my people.
You refused to listen, saw the title and ran ti comment section. So all the references made in the scripture here is useless to you?? Images are only idols if you worship them! By the way, it's not only images, do people worship money, material things. Anything that takes the place of God is your life is an idol ! People have decorative images in there homes. As a member of the Church of England, a "protestant church", our church is full of stained glass which represents various Saints and the Lord himself. There are some "low" churches that don't have these things. With some exceptions. we are like the Catholics without the Pope. The King still bears the name "Fidei Defensor" a title given by the Pope to Henry VIII who wrote a piece against Luther. Of course the Puritan wing of the C of E did become very Calvinistic in a lot of ways, but it did not penetrate far. One of the things we lost in England with the reformation were the beautiful decorations of Bible stories and Saints that covered the walls to teach the illiterate people the Bible, most of these were whitewashed over and are now only found occasionally.
There's a book called Faith of Our Fathers by Joseph Pearce that touches on this. It's about the history of Christianity in the UK. Highly recommended.
😂 Your church start by a King who killed all his wifes Saint Catholic Church was defendant in England by two men: Saint Thomas More and Saint Bishop Fisher. These two gave their lifes to stop the tyrant of the King that want to destroy The Church.

So happy that someone genius like Sam is also defending Catholics now. We are all called to be ONE. Jesus did not die on the cross establishing the Catholic Church through apostolic succession only to be divided by Martin Luther when he introduced Protestantism in the 16th century. I hope that all Christians would join the only ONE TRUE CATHOLIC and APOSTOLIC faith that contains the FULLNESS of the truth.
Martin Luther rebelled against trying to pay for your own sins with money. Don't throughout the baby with the bath water and condemn Martin without know the entire story.
Sam is completely wrong on this topic just read the text for yourself. It says, "Thou, (You) shalt not make unto thee, (Yourself) any graven image. Sam in his ignorance conflated the second commandment with the text in which GOD commanded the commission of the Mercy Seat, the Temple and the Bronze Serpent all of which were for HIS Glory alone. Show me one single passage in scripture where GOD is commanding the creation of any statue of Jesus, Mary, the apostles or a cross let alone kneeling/bowing down and praying before or to them. Don't be deceived, Mary was only a woman and she has absolutely no authority with GOD and we are commanded not to pray/speak to the dead. Additionally for your information, Mary mother of Jesus is also mentioned less in scripture than Mary Magdalene. You are completely brainwashed in your beliefs so trust me according to scripture you don't need religion you only need the truth of scripture. Much love, peace and blessings
So you know that in the catechism (ccc 494), it says that Mary is the cause of salvation for herself and for everyone?? Romans 3:23 teaches us that all have sinned ((ALL)) And have fallen short of God's glory. Mary was a lowly young woman. God tells us in his word that he chooses the least.
Thank you brother Sam for another spirit filled bible study. Please keep it up and I am sure that more and more protestant Christians will understand the truth, just like me, who was a Baptist pastor. Praise God.
I pray to GOD in the Highest, Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit to guide my words in the TRUTH of GOD! 1. Exodus 20:4 "Thou shalt not make UNTO THEE any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." Please NOTE: What it's saying is "UNTO THEE" for us to not worship ANY IMAGE (heaven or earth) for ourselves and direct our prayers and worship towards it. 2. Unfortunate that Sam skipped Exodus 25:2 "Speak unto the children of Israel, that they BRING ME an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering." This is referring to all that is required to build the tabernacle and everything in it, i.e., the ark of the covenant, mercy seat and cherubim. NOTE: BRING ME, thus it's all for GOD as written in Exodus25:9. The cherubim were never meant to be images to worshiped but as a place where the LORD could meet and dwell with the people of Israel as it is shown as follows: 3. THE MOST CRUTIAL verses are Exodus 25:21-22 21 "And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee." (The tablets of the Ten Commandments) 22 And there I WILL MEET THEE, and I WILL COMUNE WITH THEE from above the mercy seat, FROM BETWEEN THE TWO CHERUBIMS which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I WILL GIVE THEE in commandment unto the children of Israel." 4. Brothers and sisters in Christ, this is meant to be a representation of GOD's throne in heaven (As above, so below) but on earth. In the holy of holies GOD will meet and dwell with the people of Israel and written in the following verses: - Exodus 29:42 "This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord: WHERE I WILL MEET YOU, to speak there unto thee." - Exodus 30:6 " And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, WHERE I WILL MEET YOU. " 5. Everything that is made to be presented to the LORD before the mercy seat is for the LORD alone. - Exodus 30:37 "And the incense which you shall make according to its composition, YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FOR YOURSELVES; it shall be for you holy to the Lord." Regarding 1 Samuel 4, I feel in my spirit that the LORD was honoring himself and not the cherubim for HE DWELT between the cherubim and HE alone is worthy of praise, worship, blessings and thanksgiving. If the LORD did not dwell in between the cherubim, the cherubim alone could not have struck down the statue. I pray to the Triune God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for forgiveness if what I've shown is a misrepresentation of the truth of GOD's Word. May the LORD bless all of you through Christ Jesus and comfort you in our journey towards the Kingdom of Heaven!
@@cryptounchained3586 Again the staff is not being worshiped. Who actually needed to LOOK at the staff? ONLY those who were bitten needed only to look and they would be cured. Those who were well went on about their lives without needing to do so. Like in Luke 5:32 (KJV) And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. The poison of sin can only be cleansed through belief in Christ, and because those who were bitten believed the instructions of God through Moses and looked upon the serpent on the staff, I.e. sin nailed to the cross, I.e., Jesus, they were saved as are ALL WHO BELIEVE IN CHRIST! Under the new covenant of grace, we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been *saved, through faith* -and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. Faith needs an object.. The object of faith is Jesus, not in graven image, Mary, our works, water baptism, our charitable deeds, etc. Jesus alone is our Lord and saviour.
Sam deceived you because he 100% wrong on this, just read the text for yourself. The second commandment is a warning for who? Mankind not to do things according to our will. We don't get to decide what image is pleasing to GOD because HE said don't do it and HE used very specific language, You and Yourself. As for GODs command for the commissioned works of the Mercy Seat, the Temple and the Bronze Serpent they were according to HIS will and for HIS Glory alone, there is a huge difference between the 2nd commandment and GODs commissioning of those works. Blessings
@@tonywean452 You don't know what are you talking about? Thou (meaning YOU as in people) shalt not make unto thee (Meaning Yourself) any graven image... GOD denied King David in the building HIS Temple and commanded Solomon to build instead. IT was GOD who inspired the building of the Temple according to HIS will and for HIS glory alone. Honestly, why do you think GOD made certain commandments much longer than others? Could it be that HE knew the hearts of man who would dare twist them to try and justify their own ideology? That seems to be the case, doesn't it. the 2nd commandment forbids man from making graven images, it in no way means that GOD can't command his servants to make them according to HIS will.
@@rocco9611 There are commandments that forbids man from worshiping other Gods and committing murder but in your thinking it in no way means that GOD can't command his servants to do these according to HIS will. Making a graven image obviously wasn't the problem when God asks people to make many graven images. The commandment has been historically believed to be to not make an image that then would be worshiped and/or what the image represented would be worshiped. I don't see how those that made a statue of Winston Churchill for a park were committing a sin but you go to a religious Muslim country and they won't build statues, have paintings/drawings, tattoos and sometimes destroy ancient statues. What happened to Protestants saying that Christian denominations before Protestantism had too many extra little rules to follow, some Protestants now say people shouldn't put a cross on a Bible cover? The Second Temple (I doubt it was exactly copying the first, it certainly was quite bigger) had lots of carved images and I don't think many Jews (including Jesus) complained. Instructions to build the Second Temple didn't directly come from the God/Bible (although they may have tried to copy the First Temple) Throughout Christianity Biblical Fundamentalism was not accepted by denominations except by some Protestant ones. The Bible function was to teach religious truths, not historical nor scientific truths. So if a Bible says God asked people to worship other Gods then many Christians would accept this as historically inaccurate, although it would be there to teach some religious truth(s).
@@fernandofreitas2615 The text translated in English says thou shalt not kill but in Greek and Hebrew it actually says thou shalt not murder and in Matthew 5:21-22 Jesus is saying that just obeying the Law and refraining from murdering and anger is not sufficient and we must have a loving and not a hard heart towards our neighbor or even our enemies. The 2nd commandment didn't mean everything was off limits, it clearly states not to make graven images and then bow down to them in worship, No Jew worshiped the Arc of the Covenant, the Temple or the Bronze Serpent and that's because all the Glory was given to GOD. In the Catholic Church that is not the case, they bow down and kiss the feet of statues, pray to the dead and they place unrighteous admiration on both these things and upon the Pope which is idolatry. As for the cross on a bible well people don't worship the Bible whether it has a cross or not. I disagree, the Father did inspire the building of the second temple and according to Ezra 5 HE used HIS prophets Haggai and Zechariah to gain support for Zerubbabel 2nd Temple. Although it was never as grand as Solomons temple its was far greater because Jesus the Messiah walked the courts; so how can you say it was not inspired by GOD? Biblical fundamentalism is the basis of christianity in the belief that the Bible is 100% true and inspired by GOD HiMSELF. John 1 teaches that Jesus is the word and in the beginning the word was with GOD and was GOD. If any denomination disagrees with that then they are in deception such as is the Catholic Church. Sam, I love you brother, but this video truly flipped me. I’ve heard your full story, I know how passionate you are for the Lord. But these arguments are so weak. I am the most accepting Protestant you can imagine. All I ever want to do is to get both sides, and slap them both. 1 Corinth 3:5-15, the only foundation, I literally believe as long as you have Christ, all traditions are straw and wood. I don’t mind my Catholic brothers liking decoration, no problem. I fully understand we don’t live in a vacuum, traditions and early fathers are worth reading. But Sir, when your arguments are so weak that if a Muslim were to bring them you would wipe the floor with them, you need to stop and reassess. We have a new covenant brother. Gal 3: 19 The new mediator between God and humanity is The Holy Spirit, written on our hearts and minds. We can pray anywhere, anytime, remember the aseity of God. If God intended the Temple and the Ark to be there, they would be there! I don’t care about the decoration of the Catholic churches, I love the decoration and adornment, but we all know it’s chaff brother. Chaff is ok, if it tells a story and it’s art. I always thought, fair enough, they don’t pray to Mary and the Saints, they ask her to intercede, ok, I get it, but your vid made me think more. Sir, with all due respect, they are not omnipresent. Only God has that capacity: to hear the prayers of everyone everywhere. The Ark and temple represented the old way to mediate between God and humanity. God was never in the image, He was always in the mercy seat between the cherubim. Even I could debate you over that, and I’m a useless nobody brother. Every point in this vid was weak. I don’t think you are unsaved or idol worshipping. And I don’t think that Protestants who come at Catholics are right to cause strife either. We are on the same team if we have the foundation. Catholics should also stop trying to claim exclusivity by the same token though. Why on Earth should the world see a divided Christendom? You have the chance to pull us together, and you're missing it.
You're the one causing division because you're a proud and arrogant heretic who rejects reality in favour of your feelings. You don't get to decide what the truth is. It exists independently from you. 2+2 will always equal 4 regardless of what you think. And you didn't refute a single one of his arguments in this video, because you can't.
you hit the point very well brother! they are not omnipresent like God for them to hear our prayers everytime everywhere even the fact that they're alive in heaven the bible instructed us to worship Him in spirit and in truth!

Hey Sam, the Ark of the covenant was asked by God to make. It bears His name & His commandments, written with His finger, right. That has value! Anything God says to carve or do cannot be counted. He does not want us humans to carve any images on our own. The images carved on temple walls are not for the people to bow down to. God knows we are weak & over time we cannot differentiate between worshipping the true God and the images, pics we bow down to! We don't need any image to really worship God. So isn't it better to avoid it all!
Then you better get rid of your camera/phone, flags and symbols because you might incidentally start worshiping them. Honestly what you wrote makes little to no sense. Pictures and statues in churches help you to think of and offer respect to the persons that art depicts, not to the stone and paint they are made of lol. There is no power in images and statues other than the art pointing you to the one it depicts. The pagans worshiped the images and they believed the objects themselves had magical powers (magical trinkets, totems etc.) Nothing of the sort is going on here and the early church understood that distinction very well and they definitively and strongly condemned the iconoclastic heresy in the ecumenical second council of nicea. I would recommend you read the declaration of that council

Now some Protestants have begun to be so insanely iconoclast that they won't put a cross on a Bible's cover. Aren't the shapes of the letters in words and words themselves also symbolic images, not just crosses? Islam harassed mainly Eastern Orthodox Christians for many centuries because Muslims were iconoclast and for a few centuries now some Protestants have been picking up the slack. Making a graven image obviously wasn't the problem when God asks people to make many graven images, the problem was that some made an image that then would be worshiped and/or what the image represented would be worshiped. All images are idols but religious images are not idols.. Isaiah 56:5, 2King 23:15-18 God spare image or statue of saint..Who will destroy religious relics the bible foretells? Psalm 74:4-8
Regarding objects imbued with supernatural power these objects should be temporary and not kept. So that God is always given the glory not the objects. Like Samson and the jawbone judge 15:16 he throws it away when he is finished or the bones of Elisha 2 Kings 13:21. When Paul used a handkerchief to heal people, I am glad that that none of those things survived. using bones of Peter and other saints to be burned under churches and other rubbish like the "true cross", these are gross abuses. it also quite good that the ark of covenant just disappeared, God knows humans always looking for "magic solutions" instead of looking to God and submitting to His requirements

@@fernandofreitas2615 The text is very clear in that it represents a warning not to make or place a value on anything that leads to worship. Idolatry means to place a value on anything above GOD and that means ones time or attention. That means a phone, drugs, money, sex etc... The other part of it is that GOD doesn't give man free will to make graven images at his leisure but text clearly states that GOD had commanded Moses and Solomon to create graven images according to HIS will. @@rocco9611 idolatry is giving worship due to God to a created thing but you can still give great honor and respect but lesser than that of God to a created being and that is not idolatry. God never punished anyone for bowing down to people or objects unless they were explicitly idolaters. If the creation of images is prohibited by God He cannot ever command the creation of images. It would make God contradict Himself and that is not possible. He must either prohibit its use completely or allow the creation of images and deal with idolatry if it becomes an idol. Intent is absolutly involved in idolatry and in any sin. Sin is a willful act, your intent is important. If it weren't important there would be no distinction between murder and self defence. From what sam said God was ok with the creation of images so the second commandment has nothing to do with images themselves but is an edict againt the creation of idols, things that will then be worshipped how God alone should be worshipped.
My grandparents and parents were Catholics and I was also raised Catholic. During my catechism initiation service when I was 12 years of age, everything was enjoyable until we lined up to the Bishop and priests at the foot of the alter where everyone knelt down and kissed a wooden crusifix. After every kiss, that spot was wiped off for the next kiss. Even at that age it didn't feel right to me and disturbed me. I have been to Catholic churches many times after for different occasions and never bowed to the big crusifix by the alter ever again since I was born again. It would have agitated the wicked spirit that guides and dominates you, whoch is why you felt uneasy because demons can incite feelings in us like that as well, not just lust, anger, pride etc.

Ray Comfort has been used by God mightily...His style of evangelizing is more bold than most in a very loving and truthful manner...God uses all types of people in many different ways, those people were gifted by God to be used differently with the same message of Jesus Christ...This channel is very important as well and Sam is an excellent teacher with a compassionate heart and bold in his stance for truth...
What he just taught is utter nonsense, read the text for yourself, where does the word (Except) appear? How can you conflate the warning of the 2nd commandment with GOD's commanded for the commissioned work of the Arc of the Covenant, the Temple and the Bronze Serpent all of which were according to HIS will and for HIS Glory alone? You have been perfectly deceived if you agree with this false teaching. Blessings
Thank you brother Sam God bless you always 🙏...tell them more about what is the Arch of Covenant and who is the blessed Mary mother of Jesus.. Amen! God is good 🙏
You are completely deceived, read the 2nd commandment and tell me where the word (Except)m appears? How can you conflate the warning of the 2nd commandment with GODs command for the Commissioned works for the Arc of the Covenant, the Temple and the Bronze Serpent in which all were according to HIS will and not the will of man and they were for HIS Glory alone. As for Mary, well she was just a woman, (John 2:4) and a sinful human being just like the rest of us and she has absolutely no authority or influence with the Father and we are certainly not to pray to her or for the dead according to scripture. You may not like it but scripturally its the truth. Blessings
God bless you more Sam Shamoun for your teachings of truths and wisdom! Praise and thank God for using you as His instrument to teach the words of God.✝️❤️🕊️
Terrible lesson because scripturally he is 100% wrong. Just read the second commandment and then ask yourself, (Who is being warned here, Thou (You) Thee (Yourself). What are humans (you and I) being warned not to do? Not to do things according to our will. GOD says not to make graven images for ourselves and yet we have crosses and statues of people whom we have no idea what they looked like and certain then people bow down and pray to these things. Do not conflate the 2nd commandment with Gods command for the commissioned works of the Mercy Seat, the Temple and the Bronze Serpent all of which were according to HIS will and for HIS Glory alone, and that's a big difference. Not opinion, its what the text states. Blessings
Dagan was not bowing to an icon of angels it was bowing to Adonai's presence above the mercy seat. Icons are idols. The carvings of angels on the ark of the covenant facing the mercy seat are not icons which are idols. The carvings of angels on the ark of the covenant facing the mercy seat are a visual picture of the heavenly reality and Moses wasn't bowing to the angelic carvings. Moses was bowing to the presence of Adonai, above the mercy seat. To bow down to an icon and pray to the dead saint or the virgin Mary is idolatry. Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. We are to pray to the Father in Jesus name only. You are usually very good at explaining the scriptures. But you are way off base on this issue.
There's a big difference of God commission the creation of the Arc and the tabernacle versus catholic or any religion that was commisioned by men to create images and statues.
Yeah, this would like saying. Thou shall not murder. Then using a scripture where God had someone kill another person. Well, I guess we can go blasting people. How about the golden calf? Every little plastic Mary necklace made in China is not anointed by God. Also, nobody prayed to the Cherubim. This teaching is nonsense.
Icons are idols? You say that the angels are pictures so it is different? pictures are by that logic also idols. You say God told them to make idols then? Good job God is a tempter and a hypocrit then. Telling His people not to make anything whatever in heaven and earth then commanding them to sin by creating these various idols. Solomon builds the temple with various idols and God didn't destroy the temple or punish solomon but approved and accepted the offering. Jesus is the image of the invisible God right? Oh but that means He's an idol we can't worship Him then. The greek for image there is eikon which is where icon comes from. The saints in heaven are more alive than we are when we venerate the likenesses the object of veneration isn't the statue it is the person in heaven who are interceding for us constantly. The mediation of Jesus is unique but does not mean there cannot be lesser mediators as we are commanded to pray for other making oursrlves intercessors too. We can pray to any members of thr trinity as they are all fully God and Jesusvsays anything you ask in His name He Himself we give it. Sam is very good at explaining maybe somethings he gets wrong but he i think he is spot on and you can always go to his stream and challenge him on it.

Sam is 100% wrong about the 2nd commandment. It doesn't say Thou (You) shalt not make any graven image unto thee (Yourself) except... It explicitly says "not" to do it, period. Conflating the 2nd commandment with GODs commandment for the commissioned works of the Mercy Seat, the Temple and the Bronze Serpent which were all according to HIS will and for HIS Glory alone is completely wrong theology. The Ark was a Symbolism not a Divine Statue to be Prayed to like the Catholics do Praying to Holy Mary's Statue.. We Christians are mandated to Pray to GOD through Jesus our LORD and SAVIOR...
Please pray to The Holy Spirit to open your eyes, as you seem to be one of the people Jesus says, "seeing but not seeing and hearing but not hearing, brother.
Misleading and I saw lots of roman Catholics people touch, kiss, and pray to saints. Don't ever say some of the action they do in Catholics' churches are holy things those are Satanic and Anti christ stuff. Why even we discussing this, the father, son, and Holy Spirit capable to listen our prayers and deliver us and Jesus christ is the way, truth and life, no one will enter the heaven without him. That's it. Period.
Please explain 1 Samuel 28: 3-11, Mathew 22:32, Mathew 17: 1-8, 1 Corinthians. Do you think “death” means an end or cease to exist? The saints are mentioned several times in the Bible. To be absent in body, as a believer and adherent to Yehsihua is to be present with Him in heaven. You have to remove that blinder from your eyes. It’s not possible that God forsake the church for several years until the advent of Martin Luther or the 18th century of Protestantism (evangelical). I hold back in referring to your denomination as evangelical because of the true meaning of the word. The earliest Christians (Catholic) are the true evangelicals from the beginning.
Protestants love to accuse the Catholics about this and that! Disregarding the fact that their belief is against God's will! Protestantism is the testament of direct and in complete defiance of God's will to have One Church! The original purpose of icons is to instruct people by providing stories in the bible in the visual sense, however the church has gone so far beyond the original purpose

If you were to take the Old Testament and Islamic admonitions against image making literally then you could not even have photography, movies or computer animated imagery and AI especially if these involved images of animals, human beings and indeed of biblical figures. Imagery got introduced to the church largely for purposes of illustrations of Bible events and lives of saints in an era when few people could read. Orthodox church after the resolution of the Iconoclasm controversy in the Byzantine empire came up with a compromise -one dimensional images O.K. but not statues/ pope in Rome -both O K if used for purposes of illustration and Christian devotion.
Iconography has been part of the Church's traditions, teachings and practice for 2,000 years or more. But somehow Protestants with their many diverse teachings and churches, who's founders came in the 1500s with their "revised" Christianity (and omitted so many books) , know that their way is "right or true" and the original Church is wrong and have not been corrected by God for 2,000+ years. But yet the Church (Orthodox Christian Church) has produced dozens of Saints, Elders/Nuns/Monks who have performed miracles when alive and even after they passed by their relics, have recently been given word or vision from God (prophecy) with great accuracy, and many more things unknown to the West..... and when someone explains things as this man, Sam, does, Protestants go on defense instead of hearing, then researching and learning Church history and the TRUTH......and I speak all this as a former Protestant. ☦
Blessings

@centyniv7257 That Christians from the very beginning adorned their catacombs with paintings of Christ, of the saints, of scenes from the Bible and allegorical groups is too obvious and too well-known for it to be necessary to insist upon the fact. The catacombs are the cradle of all Christian art. Since their discovery in the sixteenth century an accident revealed part of the catacomb in the Via Salaria-and the investigation of their contents that has gone on steadily ever since, we are able to reconstruct an exact idea of the paintings that adorned them. That the first Christians had any sort of prejudice against images, pictures, or statues is a myth (defended amongst others by Erasmus) that has been abundantly dispelled by all students of Christian archaeology. The idea that they must have feared the danger of idolatry among their new converts is disproved in the simplest way by the pictures, even statues, that remain from the first centuries. Even the Jewish Christians had no reason to be prejudiced against pictures, as we have seen; still less had the Gentile communities any such feeling. They accepted the art of their time and used it, as well as a poor and persecuted community could, to express their religious ideas.

Be proud that Jesus Has allowed us to enter into His kingdom and become a part of His family when He returns. I am so proud to serve Jesus who has shown Himself to be a loving, merciful, kind, and forgiving God!
So I guess you are referring to how some commandments use slightly different wording and/or are numbered differently (there's no numbering of the commandments in Exodus and Deuteronomy) between general Roman Catholics and most Christian Orthodox. Orthodox tend to go by the wording and numbering of the older Origen while Catholics seem to have gone more with a wording and numbering done by the later St. Augustine. (Origen had some beliefs and practices that Christian generally don't accept but I would like to ask you read as much of his writing as possible not just a small sample given by Protestants that >seem< to match their theologies. I want to especially ask you do the same for St. Augustine of Hippo, read his history and ALL [or as much as possible] of his writings, not just some samples). Here are the commandments from a Catholic website: 1. I am the Lord your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them. 2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. 3. Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day. 4. Honor your father and your mother. 5. You shall not kill. 6. You shall not commit adultery. 7. You shall not steal. 8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. 10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods. Seems to roughly match the scripture in Exodus and Deuteronomy. Here are the commandment from a Christian Orthodox website: 1. I am the Lord thy God which brought thee out of the land of Egypt. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. 2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. 3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. 4. Remember the Sabbath Day. 5. Honor thy father and mother. 6. Thou shalt not kill. 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. 8. Thou shalt not steal. 9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. 10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house nor his wife nor anything that belongs to him. So wording have some differences but meanings are pretty much the same and numberings are different. I have a vague memory of reading that St. Augustine changed Origen's numbering so that the commandment about the neighbor's wife wouldn't make her equal to the neighbor's property, that instead she is more valuable.
No one can change the commandments of God it was your misunderstood its was all thier, dont judge us if don't know our faith that was only your imagination..

Thus god has chosen and stated she is full of grace (holy) because she was obedient faithful and serving without question? So why do you find a problem with anyone respecting her and honoring her?

@@rocco9611 Except what God wills and what you consider to be the "Second Commandment" are blaring contradictions. Problems don't go away by ignoring them. @@seanhebebrand7611 There is no contradiction at all. I don't think you seem to understand biblical context. GOD tells us humans not to make graven images according to our own will and our judgement; HE didn't include a caveat , "except if you want to make your own for me". Every commandment in the Bible and I mean every and not just the 10 are about how GOD commands people to worship him and how we are to treat one and other. GOD is the creator and as the creator everything HE does and what HE commands we do, are to be for HIS Glory and according to HIS will. There's a reason why some commandments are much longer than others, GOD knew that people would try and twist them to fit their particular religious ideology and that will be to their own detriment. Saying that GOD makes contradictions is equivalent to implying that HE is a hypocrite or not all knowing. Blessings

It is very hard for me to discern this subject. To pray before a statue or icon would be sin. Somewhere in the New Testament it says that if you think something is a sin in your head then it is a sin. I simply can not do it! If you want to kiss the cross or anything else while praying than it is on you. Is a statue or icon or cross so important to your worship? Can you worship in faith and not sight?
I think the truth is in between what you believe. Icons are okay but do not pray to them. The icons within the Catholic Church are okay but do not pray to them. The icon of Jesus Christ is the graven image in Catholicism. Remove the icon of Jesus and the Catholic Church is okay.

"Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall." - 1 Corinthians 10:11-12 Sam has fallen.
Holy Mary is a mother of God and we see her as honored above angels. We love her as our mother and pray that She prays to her Son, so that our transgressions were forgiven and our souls healed. Orthodox here
Even in the presence of angels. People fell down in the form of awe. They rebuked every time not to do it because they did not want to take it as a form of worship. For God is a jealous God. He does not share his Glory like this. Nor should we be bowing and praying to the form of saints and statues put in place by the Catholic Church. My spirit rejects this teaching. Yet Sam has the nerve to call us names like ignoramus. Zero compassion. God does not treat people like this. Especially God fearing people. This is how I know that this teaching is not of God. Test the spirits. This is a deceptive spirit. Beware.
You are an ignoramus though. You reject clear Biblical teaching in favour of your feelings. That's the same demonic spirit that afflicts transgender people. And the angels were literally walking, talking living beings that terrified people and had incredible abilities, so of course people could easily mistake them for beings gods, which is why they informed them that weren't in fact gods so that people didn't worship them. It's not hard to understand. You just have to swallow your pride, humble yourself and admit that you were taught wrong by false teachers and then let go of that false teaching and accept the truth. It's not difficult.
Something people can't seem to understand is that idolatry is the worship of a statue, stone, animal, person, or otherwise non-Godly thing as a god itself. By technicality, unless the ancient Greeks were worshipping the statue of Athena as the literal goddess Athena, they aren't idolaters but are still pagan polytheists worshipping false deities. We have a Biblical example of the golden calf, which the Israelites believed to be YHWH itself. They worshipped the golden calf itself as YHWH, not as a representation of or visual aid to YHWH. That was a violation of the commandment. As Sam has shown, God commissioned the crafting of the Ark of the Covenant and of the Serpent, which aren't meant to be deities or YHWH themselves. Incoming fundamentalist Protestants wanting to call me wrong.
@user-jq1bn7ye6x Hello, expected Protestant, speaking exactly like someone who doesn't know what idolatry is, doesn't know what Catholics believe, and conveniently ignores parts of the Bible that don't fit their narrative.
@@ShinAk1raSama God never told us to make idols, because idolatry is a sin to death. You play with death penalty. Let us face it, who has a statue of Mary, pray to it. That is wrong, the whole church is wrong with their Mary-cult. You encourage. Every Pope/priest preach falsehood and goes to hell. Yeshua said this. It is because of moral issues and false preaching, no repentance. theres no word in the bible that God says for us to pray to mary or to the saints nor make them intercedes for us! all youre uttering now are nonesense. You prefer to believe in your worldly priest rather than in the word of God who created and saved you from sin. The Bible, or the Word of God, is very clear. There are no exceptions to His commandments. Nowhere in Scripture does God command us to pray to Mary or to the saints, as they are His creations and servants. Be warned: holding onto such twisted beliefs might lead to being left behind and not inheriting the Kingdom of God." A relevant Bible verse that supports the idea of worshiping God alone and not other beings can be found in Exodus 20:3-5: "You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God..." (Exodus 20:3-5) Truly, it’s hard for you to comprehend this verse or word of God because you’re trying to justify that ungodly act and still wish to continue sinning or committing idolatry through the misguided tradition of being a Catholic! God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth, and what you're saying is not biblical at all and goes against the will of God. You prefer to believe in your worldly priest rather than in the word of God, who created and saved you from sin. What a "HYPOCRITE YOU ARE!"
Sam has this one wrong and is having a hard time shedding all his former Catholic man made rituals. Never bow, kiss or speak to statues they cannot hear or see you!! The only intercessor between us and Father God is Jesus Christ!
So then why do you have prayer chains for people who are ill or need spiritual help? Why not tell them, I'm not praying for you. That's between you and Jesus??
@@jaydee9759That’s a wonderful point. Paul says the prayers of the righteous are good also. I don’t think it contradicts the original point, but it is something to wrestle with. God Bless 🙏

@@elizabethwanyonyi609Yeshua is the focus, when you make an image of Mary, Michael or any other Saint or Angel and ask them to intercede for you, you’re noir asking God the Son, which it is His position as the Final and High Priest to intercede for us. Now God made the rules, so, when he gives you express permission to make a likeness of something, you have it for that particular purpose, like the stake and the snake image after the fiery snakes went through the camp were biting the children of Israel , they had to look to it to survive, that was a type of Christ, to have them look to the stake that He would be nailed to when he was made manifest in the flesh later. Eventually that image was destroyed because it was only meant for that purpose but some continued to worship the idol rather than get the point of what it was meant for. Shamoun’s gotta relent on this. The men who looked into the ark brought death because that’s where God visited and sin cannot dwell in the same place as the Father or see His face and live. Yeshua said, take up your cross and follow me, that is a command of Christ, the image of the cross is not a worship symbol but a symbol of the duty to immolate and follow him, solomon was commissioned to make the Temple of God, God said so, none of those images were made to be talked to, asked to Intercede for us to the Father or claimed to have any power. They represented something with purpose and given purpose by the Father.

Lol
@@fivenightsatfreddys9369 Abdul, the "I AM" was Jesus Himself even before He was born on earth.
But where does the bible or God say to put up statues of the Saints and Mary? Or pray to Mary?
Jesus is our Mediator between we unrighteous sinners to God the Father. When we are Saved by the blood of Christ, we are all Saints.
I'm protestant all my life... You make me want to really learn what my God say to us. I learn so much watching you. Glory to God.
Read the Bible and ask God that you may understand what it says and take it as you read it.
Blessings

The cherubim were never meant to be images to worshiped but as a place where the LORD could meet and dwell with the people of Israel as it is shown as follows:
3. THE MOST CRUTIAL verses are Exodus 25:21-22
21 "And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee." (The tablets of the Ten Commandments)
22 And there I WILL MEET THEE, and I WILL COMUNE WITH THEE from above the mercy seat, FROM BETWEEN THE TWO CHERUBIMS which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I WILL GIVE THEE in commandment unto the children of Israel."
4. Brothers and sisters in Christ, this is meant to be a representation of GOD's throne in heaven (As above, so below) but on earth. In the holy of holies GOD will meet and dwell with the people of Israel and written in the following verses:
- Exodus 29:42 "This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord: WHERE I WILL MEET YOU, to speak there unto thee."
- Exodus 30:6 " And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, WHERE I WILL MEET YOU. "
5. Everything that is made to be presented to the LORD before the mercy seat is for the LORD alone.
- Exodus 30:37 "And the incense which you shall make according to its composition, YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FOR YOURSELVES; it shall be for you holy to the Lord."
Regarding 1 Samuel 4, I feel in my spirit that the LORD was honoring himself and not the cherubim for HE DWELT between the cherubim and HE alone is worthy of praise, worship, blessings and thanksgiving.

Instructions to build the Second Temple didn't directly come from the God/Bible (although they may have tried to copy the First Temple)
Throughout Christianity Biblical Fundamentalism was not accepted by denominations except by some Protestant ones.

And you didn't refute a single one of his arguments in this video, because you can't.
you hit the point very well brother! they are not omnipresent like God for them to hear our prayers everytime everywhere even the fact that they're alive in heaven
the bible instructed us to worship Him in spirit and in truth!

Bkind leading other blind people to hell
Thank you so much Sam, I hope more will be enlightened.
Bang on!
Exactly!!! The second commandment warns against doing things according to our will and not the Father doing things according to both HIS will and for HIS Glory.
Much love, peace and blessings
@@jakajakos What a stupid thing to say, those things are definitely idolized by people. Show me one passage in scripture where GOD commanded man to make graven images of the cross, Jesus, the virgin Mary, the apostles all of whom their likenesses are unknown. The second commandment was a warning to man to stop them from doing things according to their will. Why do you think that GOD made certain commandments intentionally long like the 2nd, 4th and the 10th? Maybe because HE knew people would try and twist them to fit their beliefs.
By the way you catholic theology is just more garbage religion, it's not biblical and by the way, Constantine was of the devil himself. By the way the word religion is only mentioned 5 times in the Bible yet religions have caused more division to humanity than anything else. The truth of the text is the only thing that honestly matters and not religious denominations and their traditions.
Blessings,
Now some Protestants have begun to be so insanely iconoclast that they won't put a cross on a Bible's cover.
I don't see how those that made a statue of Winston Churchill for a park were committing a sin but you go to a religious Muslim country and they won't build statues, have paintings/drawings, tattoos and sometimes destroy ancient statues.
God bless you Sam shamoun I know this isn’t his acc but wow, I’m converting to orthodoxy and getting baptized in Jan, former Protestant thank you

I think you meant all idols are images but not all images are idols.
Thank you brother Sham for defending and explaining the faith of Catholics, God bless you ever🙏😇

Blessings
Eye opening explanation. Thanks Sam.
Sam really needs to back what he preaches with NEW TESTAMENT Scripture. Like he always says ' we don't care what you believe!! prove it with scripture!!' I love him still
The crucifix you're talking about is a representation. You don't bow down to it because it's a god. You bow down to it because it represents the dead Christ that is delivering you from the sins of Adam
@@aliszhinchaenz I was made to kiss it and bow down to every time I went past it. I bowed down many more times when I covered for absent alter boys. This was taught in catechism class by Sisters from Italy. Where you ever compelled kiss a wooden crusifix as a child?
You probably had a demon, that's why you hated submitting and bowing to the instrument that destroyed them. As for Mary, well she was just a woman, (John 2:4) and a sinful human being just like the rest of us and she has absolutely no authority or influence with the Father and we are certainly not to pray to her or for the dead according to scripture. You may not like it but scripturally its the truth.

Every icon is a symbol. Remember the bronze snake?
@@elizabethwanyonyi609
Yes and the children of Israel worshiped the bronze snake bringing God's wrath on them .

We believe yet we do t have those images, you know why? Because of the revelation of the Holy spirit
If you would read the OT you would know that is not the case.

Amen! Images, icons of those created in the image and likeness of God! Idols are man-made, dead things with no spirit, NOT created by God!
The Catholics removed the commandment against idols (#2) from the 10 commandments and split the 10th commandment in two to make up the difference!
Here are the commandments from a Catholic website:
Here are the commandment from a Christian Orthodox website:
@@fernandofreitas2615, nobody, but nobody has the right to change the wording of the Commandments in the Holy Bible, not even Augustine !😢😮

Now, how's this biblical?
Xactly!
I’ll take it! -Ave Maria gracia plena! 🫶🏼
Why does it have to be in the Bible?
Is mary not the mother of god?
Was it not her that was chosen to bring forth jesus? For her un wavering faith is why she was chosen ? That she did not need proof to believe in her son before the holy spirit conceived him? Do you known of any other virgin that gave birth to the messiah? Was she not the first to support jesus ministry? Was her womb not the one that could only hold jesus til the day she birthed him? Was she not a mother or virgin?
So was she not the first intercessor for humanity to be saved?
Did god father holy spirit and jesus not honor her request to have jesus grant her a miracle that was selfless for others? Thus god has chosen and stated she is full of grace (holy) because she was obedient faithful and serving without question? So why do you find a problem with anyone respecting her and honoring her?

Having a statue is fine. Praying to it or trusting in it for protection or blessing is the issue. Context matters. I wouldn’t have a statue of Jesus…but that’s just me. Peach Christ and live your convictions. But yeah, praying to saints is idolatry for sure
The Bible tells us to pray for one another and thats what “praying” to the saints is. The word pray means to ask and they’re asking the saints to pray for them. The prayer of a righteous man avails much and they are completely righteous as they are without sin with Jesus in heaven

I always bring up the issue of the golden cherubim to Protestants when they dispute the use of images, but they can never adequately answer back
@@benzine8885 "God prohibits catholic idol statues,"

- Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in HEAVEN above...
"GOD Himself visited the mercy seat and was present there between His two cherubim."
- Between two graven images.
"ANY other idol statue is automatically inhabited by a demon because..."
- Says nowhere in the Bible
"GOD HATH COMMANDED: DO NOT MAKE A GRAVEN IMAGE & DO NOT BOW DOWN TO IT."
- Which is exactly what happened with the graven images on the Arc of the Covenant.
'This is for your protection against demon infested idols,"
-Says where in the Bible?
"...unless He licenses a statue (and note these cherubim WERE NOT to be worshipped)."
- But the Bible has bowing towards the Cherubim graven images not prohibited, contradicting God under Protestant interpretation.

CATHOLICS ARE NOT WORSHIPPING THE STATUES AND ICONS OF MARY, THE SAINTS, NEITHER OF JESUS EVEN. 😮
The second commandant is to prevent people from doing things according to their will and GOD commanding the commission of the Mercy Seat, the Temple and the Bronze Serpent were according to HIS will and for all for HIS Glory.
Big difference between the two and honestly the truth really isn't that hard to see if you would contemplate what is written in the text rather than trying to make it fit your particular ideology.

@@benzine8885 Exactly right, according to GODs will and for HIS glory alone.
@@rocco9611 Except what God wills and what you consider to be the "Second Commandment" are blaring contradictions. Problems don't go away by ignoring them. God said to not make graven images of things in Heaven, then he commanded things in Heaven to be graven. In Protestantism, this is a contradiction, "But we're not going to worry about it!"

Be warned: holding onto such twisted beliefs might lead to being left behind and not inheriting the Kingdom of God."
A relevant Bible verse that supports the idea of worshiping God alone and not other beings can be found in Exodus 20:3-5:
"You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. (Exodus 20:3-5) Truly, it’s hard for you to comprehend this verse or word of God because you’re trying to justify that ungodly act and still wish to continue sinning or committing idolatry through the misguided tradition of being a Catholic! God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth, and what you're saying is not biblical at all and goes against the will of God.
