Used to have 5 days off every other week in my current job and got to take travel around the PNW without using my vacation/sick hours, since the schedule change now I have to use my vacation hours to take 4 days weekend.

Great tips but national parks are also tourist traps

Some of them definitely are especially big ones but in NP you typically don’t spend as much money as you would in Disney land for example. Plus you can hike and enjoy nature!
