I know the sports sedan segment doesn't have a big market like CUV's and SUV's but I feel like it was a missed opportunity not putting a manual transmission in the TLX Type S even just as an option. Same as you I went Integra Type S because I wanted the buttery smooth Honda manual, but the interior, ride quality and grip is far superior on the TLX. I also know Acura doesn't have a large budget but if they could've made an AWD Integra Type S that would've been my only car, this FWD got me considering a GR Corolla and a dedicated sport car like the GR Supra for summer time. Side note MBRP just released their cat-back exhaust so they're the first on the market for the ITS. Great vid as always Que!
No one would buy a manual TLX. These are already low volume selling cars with an auto. What the TLX needs is a real auto such as the ZF 8-spd or a DCT.
Are you in sport mode when you are talking about the steering? When I recently test drove an ASPEC, I thought normal mode was WAY too loose, but sport mode was fine.
Im not an expert on cars at all, but, after seeing your review. I think if i want a daily driver with comfort/speed, i would get the tlx type s. But if you i want more of a performance and neglect the racing experience i would get the integra.
Paddles are so much better than standard floor shift, especially in traffic. Only downfall of paddles is the added weight and on the TLX it won't let you wind first gear up.
For me, I love BOTH cars, but for completely different reasons. The TLX Type S is a refined car, but Acura made that more of a sporty cruiser. The Integra Type S is much more athletic and fun to drive in many ways. The power to weight ratio on ITS is seriously amazing and as you mentioned, it's AGILE. I think the ITS has a very specific mission and really appeals to "Drivers" whereas the TLX S is more luxurious in appointments. It's got more plush seats, and trim looks more premium than Integra, but at the very same time, Integra Type S doesn't need all those things. So while I really want the Integra Type S to be for "Everyone", because it's AMAZING, it's not a car for everyone. It's super sporty, AGILE, and sexy in every way, but as soon as folks see it doesn't have a moonroof, they may be put off, and go with a different option. That's the mission of Integra Type S. The Aspec has more mass appeal because it has more luxury features than ITS, actually, which threw me for a loop at first, and the seats in Aspec are even more plush, but taking a full overview of both, the good news is, one isn't trying to beat out the other, and both have amazing qualities. I'm also cursed with the need for a 6MT, so it's an easy choice for me ;) I could see myself owning a TLX Type S tho, for sure for those rare days when we want to be lazy....but then again, the Integra is so easy to drive, that even as a 6MT, it's pretty relaxing for me hehe :) Fun cars, man, and glad you got to experience TLX Type S. Now just get your girl that MDX Type S! It drives like a sports car! 😀
It's definitely quick. The main problem is the TLX is the slowest in it's class because it's heavy. They need to add more horse in it to balance the weight problem. At least 430 hp.
@@QueTheChaotic Eh.. My wife's full size XC90 hybrid T8 volvo SUV clocked a 4.8 with my Dragy and it's nearly 5200 lbs. I feel like for it's price and Type S badging, it should be closer to low 4's to be competitive with the S4/5 and M340i.
I agree about it feeling plenty quick. I test drove a 2023 S4, M340i, and TLX-s all on the same day a few months ago. All three cars felt quick, and no single one stood out as being, far and away, much faster than the others. I ended up selecting the TLX in the end. Having the fastest car in this category is not my current priority, but I do acknowledge and respect those who may prioritize it.
I have a 2023 TLX Type-S, I can tell you this it's feel great, just keep in mind TLX Type-S is a Luxury Sport sedan, and full of amenities the suspension is super smooth. but one thing is the car is a little bit heavy. While the Integra is pure sport full of adrenaline with a suspension that is a little hard. Both car fit the purpose of who wanted.
Thanks for sharing. Just like variety of fruits vegetables, so are automobile manufacturers trying to offer different flavors/flavors, colours and purposes for their vehicles. Great video! This video pretty much sums up my entire experience over the last month... I have been going back and forth on whether to get a TLX or Integra type S and facing all the same issues. The one thing that the tLX has going for it is that you can get a used 2023 at a significant discount. I have never owned an automatic, and I test drove an ASPEC TLX just to see if I could put up with it. The thing is... is it worth paying so much more for an Integra just for the 6MT? ( compare to low milage used 23 TLX ). It's such a frustrating comparison... more room in Integra, touch screen, but fewer seat spots, cheaper components. TLX has better seats, better build quality, and flipping homelink is missing on the rear view mirror for the integrated ( WTH Honda? ) . And the TLX has the SH-AWD.... but damn... I want that 6MT soooo bad. LOL

Que, did you see the Edmund’s U-Drag with the CTR and ITS? At the end they did a special run with the ITS and the TLX Type S. The TLX won because it launched better but the ITS had a significantly higher trap speed and really closed the gap after falling behind from the launch. I had a TLX and ended up trading it for a ITS…I just have to have a manual!
Great review Que! I currently have a 2023 TLX Type-S love this car as its really an overall winner in the sedan segment for the most part. 2024 models look cool but it's not worth me trading up and losing money on the trade-in. Also my current TLX-S color was discontinued on the 2024. But I am already plotting on my upgrade from my TLX-S.
Im looking to buy one of the two. I want the integra cause its manual, but that tlx is just awesome. If only the tlx came in manual, it would be a non constest. Im still inclined for the tlx since I already own a 2015 SI which is manual, so since I already have a fun manual car, I might look more into the tlx. Don’t know yet tho’.
Damn... I currently drive a 2017 TLX V6 SH-AWD and all my cars before that were manual. I want to go back so bad to driving manual and the Integra Type S seems to be the perfect car for that. I only have one problem though... Now i'm addicted to SH-AWD... 🤦🏾♂️
Great comparison video! If you do a stage 2 tune on stock components in the ITS, your straight line pulls will feel better if not pretty close to TLXS. But stock vs stock, yeah TLX wins in torque.
Unless you really want a manual transmission, the TLX Type S is the clear winner. Not only more horsepower than the Integra Type S but the TLX's SH-AWD vs, the front wheel drive in the Integra is no contest. The SH-AWD is one of the best I have ever driven and is a game changer.
the integra in my opinion is more suited for car enthusiasts drivers and looks like true sport hatch and tlx is the daily driver and still look sporty…but personally i’d choose the integra i like driving manual i feel more engaged and to me the integra just looks better than the tlx to me from exterior and interior but not to take nothing from the tlx is still dope a car and has a great v6
I got a 23 TLX type s and I love the fact i don’t have the digital tachometer!! Love our Acura product!! Even if a 540x will take me on uppper highway speeds the realizability is everything BROOO you forgot to do sport plus and “S” for transmission
i think for what it is the tlx is pretty great if not fantastic and people will come around to it more as it ages. my only gripe with it its the heft, its 4200lbs in type s guise and still smaller inside than the integra!
@ShaiyanHossain The patent concept for the 2026 model has an exhaust, so definitely not. Most likely, the next gen will be a hybrid setup, and the car will probably be between the size of the lexus LS or S90.
To be honest, following honda current pattern, the 2026 tlx will be the 11th gen accord redesign to fit acura current design like the integra for the civic and zdx for the prologue. Meaning the car would lean toward 196 to 199.
I prefer the simpler interior looks of the ITS. I love my ITS but I just wish it had a little more bass. I guess Acura made the subwoofer enclosure so that you can't easily swap out subwoofers. I decided to buy a specially designed adapter and grille combo from Ballade Sports but it's kind of a ripoff because all you get is a grille and an adapter ring for about $500. But the good part is that now I can add any 8 inch aftermarket speaker and amp combo I want. The stock speaker is only a 50 watt speaker, which is pretty low for a subwoofer.
@@lionary In my opinion, there is not necessarily anything wrong with the bass response. I think it sounds fine, but I just would prefer a more powerful and impactful bass response. The other reviewer most likely listens to music that is not bass heavy like R&B and Rock is. Country music, for example, doesn't emphasize bass. So a lot of it has to do with the type of music you listen to.

It out- accelerates the Integra type s easily. I'm sure on a track the teggy will take corners a little faster, but the ITS I was chasing was definitely not able to lose me when we were screwing around on winding roads out in the country.

Don’t know yet tho’.
awesome review brotha
Much appreciated
When i’m in my tlx-s, in comfort mode, going around 20mph corners at 60 is a breeze. Sport + makes it easy.
Damn... I currently drive a 2017 TLX V6 SH-AWD and all my cars before that were manual. I want to go back so bad to driving manual and the Integra Type S seems to be the perfect car for that. I only have one problem though... Now i'm addicted to SH-AWD... 🤦🏾♂️
Good comparison brother keep it up
Will do!
Nice! What other colors are available?
Tiger eye pearl, grey red black white and blue. Not a whole lot
Thank you!
My problem with the tlx is the weight and the center console style
Great comparison video! If you do a stage 2 tune on stock components in the ITS, your straight line pulls will feel better if not pretty close to TLXS. But stock vs stock, yeah TLX wins in torque.
Thanks a lot
Love your commentary, style of vehicle and manual elitism (me too!).
🙏🏾 much appreciated
Unless you really want a manual transmission, the TLX Type S is the clear winner. Not only more horsepower than the Integra Type S but the TLX's SH-AWD vs, the front wheel drive in the Integra is no contest. The SH-AWD is one of the best I have ever driven and is a game changer.
For the price, you can get a basic CT4-V Blackwing, no All wheel drive, for $63K, and it comes with 472 hp.
True. But the TLX is fully loaded. The CT4 would cost 80k fully loaded. And it’s smaller than the Integra on the interior
CT4 handles way better. Its reliability is crap though. BMW 340 is the best for performance and reliability. Plus it’s tunable to 600 easy.
@@ryanb8736an M340i cannot handle that much hp
For the price and what i need id take the tlx type s my heart wants the integra type s but i could only afford one
the integra in my opinion is more suited for car enthusiasts drivers and looks like true sport hatch and tlx is the daily driver and still look sporty…but personally i’d choose the integra i like driving manual i feel more engaged and to me the integra just looks better than the tlx to me from exterior and interior but not to take nothing from the tlx is still dope a car and has a great v6
GR just sitting on the side casually looking lmao
😎
Changing lanes over the solid white lines? 👀 (I didn't see anything) 😂
That's just a suggestion
If the TLX came with a fastback trunk, I'd be sold. Sedan trunks need to fade away.
Que, how would you say the clutch feel with type s integra vs the regular integra? Im about to downgrade from Teggie to Sport Touring Hatch
I say go for it. It's a little lighter on the Civic but still good.
@@QueTheChaotic I was asking about that Type S clutch, does it have better feel? I can barely feel anything on the integra manual lol
@@PremiumUserUltra the Type S doors have a better feel
@QueTheChaotic thanks lol I love the front doors not so much the back it's back to si lol
@@PremiumUserUltra 😆😆😆*does
No manual in the TLX so it can’t win but is still a nice ride. Integra Type S all the way for me. 🥂
I got a 23 TLX type s and I love the fact i don’t have the digital tachometer!! Love our Acura product!! Even if a 540x will take me on uppper highway speeds the realizability is everything BROOO you forgot to do sport plus and “S” for transmission
I feel you man. I thought I went to Sport + when I put it in S
I think Honda dropped the ball not given the option of AWD on the FL5,Integra Type S!
Now we need the TLX types vs ITS drag race quarter miles to see which on faster?
Type s will win. 😂😂😂
It’s a weak point for both.
I feel like the TLX would win that. It'll be close
The TLX, base or Type S, has a “S” mode for the Transmission, and you can upshift and downshift with the paddles
Unfortunately you can’t hold it in manual. Plus it automatically shifts at a low 6k rpm. 10 speed is a huge downfall. Weak too.
@@ryanb8736It's the transmission used for towing in the pilot..I doubt it's weak.
It might not like 600hp builds though.
Acura's interior is beautiful.
It'd be a shame if the TLX seats somehow got switched with your Integra's.
Lol! I'm praying that somehow happens
i think for what it is the tlx is pretty great if not fantastic and people will come around to it more as it ages. my only gripe with it its the heft, its 4200lbs in type s guise and still smaller inside than the integra!
I think you're right. They will be appreciated more later on.
Next gen might weigh the same or more honestly.
@@ii_dynasty word on the street is that the tlx will be replaced by an EV so you're probably right
@ShaiyanHossain The patent concept for the 2026 model has an exhaust, so definitely not.
Good video my friend but I prefer 100% the integra 💪 I love manual transmission 👍 😊
Interesting, savagegeese measured this system and found it too heavy on the bass.
@@mikemccormick6128 You're right
integra i believe has a better power to weight ratio. so it might beat the tlx on a roll race despite having a manual.
Can’t go wrong with either, personally would prefer tsx type S, even though no manual transmission is available 😢😢
The Integra Type S all day Que and it looks better overall.👊🏼
I always imagine the TLX types J series motor, in the Integra type s with the manual transmission 😅
Where is the shift lever…that’s the one I want!
Dope comparison 😎💪🏾🔥🫵🏾 not too many have both in the driveway 😅
I’ll always be an S4 guy, but that TLX looks amazing. But for my money I’m taking the Integra all day, there is no better car on earth for $52k.
You kidding or a def a teenager that doesnt know any better. Which one is it? That integra is overpriced and everyone agrees.
@@diznutz5110 Overpriced? Welcome to reality son....every f'ing thing on earth is overpriced so I suggest you get used to it or you'll be taking the bus forever.
@@axe2grind244 if you look at this objectively, in THAT price range there are a plethora of better options. The good thing is that any idiot in 2024 can do a 30 minute research when they are looking for cars in this price range and segment and again, objectively vs the competition and it offers it is overpriced. The car should be no more than 45k and that might even be pushing it. Then again, theres morons paying 90k for a F*cking FORD or Dodge pickup truck so there's that. As long as theres a market of ignorance, they will make millions and prices will never go down.
@@axe2grind244 now im not saying the car doesn't look great, it DOES. I think it is in my opinion the best looking car out of the competition in that segment.
Looks wise, that integra type s is so clean
Sounds like Acura didn't add the all-wheel drive to the Integra off a business move, the Integra type s might out sell it 🤔
subbed just cuz you're a Royce fan
🙏🏾
In the video the integra front bumper doesn't line up flush with the hood on the driver side (0:57). Is it like that in person or is it just a camera angle?
That’s in person unfortunately. I’m thinking it was done when they installed the illuminated badge at the dealership
If only the TLX had a manual...
And a lower price tag lol.
The exact video I was looking for and I share every one of your sentiments! As I own neither car, the video gives me good points to decide. Thank you for the superb video.
I’m glad I could help! Which one would you choose?
I'm still wondering why the RDX doesn't have a Type S 🤨
They should do one ASAP
Press the drive button twice on the TLX. It should hold the revs higher and sharpen up throttle a bit
Prl make some good parts for the integra and ctr
Lmao the seats of the Integra 😂😂😂
Is that a GR Corolla on the side?
Yes yes
Anyone here has a its as a first manual car? I drove a few cars practicing manual but now I want the its and i know its a big decision and no turning back lol
TL-S might not be able to hang on the track. But on the street I think it’s close. And if your kids are big at least there’s a sporty option. But I’m definitely TL biased because I’m pushing 50.
Integra may very well have a bigger interior base on metrics than the tlx, but is easier to relax in an auto obviously.
It out- accelerates the Integra type s easily. I'm sure on a track the teggy will take corners a little faster, but the ITS I was chasing was definitely not able to lose me when we were screwing around on winding roads out in the country.
The tlx could have been great, but the fact it has less rear seat legroom than the integra was a huge miss
The 5 series has less legroom than the integra.
PRL for bolt-ons
Test drive the integra type s loved it but I think my 2012 TL 6MT is more comfortable as daily Driver
I really want one of those. I looked at one last year for 18000
Nice review
Check out Two Step Performance for ITS DP my guy
I've been looking at that for a minute
