      When Senna got his "computer" in 1993 he didn't win either. Not the greatest.

    • @ph4nt0m22
      @ph4nt0m22 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@livingbeing1113 please dont talk out of your ass, you clearly dont know F1 history. Senna had a prior generation Ford Engine which generated 80 less horsepower than the rest of the field. Williams DOMINATED the 1991-1997 era, and still lost to senna in 1991 with a clearly inferior car and saw Senna take several wins in 1993 with a clearly underpowered car, again, with 80 less worse power and an active suspension that was not even close to what willians had. Senna is the best ever, dont take my word for it, take the F1 drivers word, like Schummy, Hakkinen, Alonso, Hamilton and so many others.

      Why do I have the feeling that in 1992, people that were fans of the 1970’s and earlier would be saying the same thing. The cars now are hard to drive, the drivers now are skilled and fit as ever, and there still remains good circuits and bad circuits. Of course I’m not suggesting every change is positive (v6 hybrids suck), but just remember that in 20 years time people will be looking upon our times as the “glory days.”

    Senna foi o último campeão da história com um carro com câmbio mecânico manual em 1991, sem controle de revs nem acelerador eletrônico que sincronizasse e gerenciasse a entrega de potência e trocas via software, com tudo passando a ser integrado junto com câmbio e motor via sistema eletro-hidráulico. Os 3 maiores de todos dessa era de ouro 1950-91: Fangio, Clark e Senna em ordem cronológica, não importando quem é o primeiro pois o título estará em ótimas mãos seja com qual deles for. Depois veio a era da eletrônica e dos apertadores de botões.
    Ps. Sem nunca esquecer que Ayrton é o único piloto da história da F1 a conquistar um campeonato com os tão badalados monstros motores V12. Só ele os conseguiu domar.

      Lamentável que o automobilismo seja obrigado a se render as inovações tecnológicas, assim fica fácil se ganhar 7 títulos como o alemão, ou 4 como o Vettel e até mesmo os outros 7 com Hamilton, duvido que qualquer um desses três teria as mesmas conquistas se corressem na década de 80 e meados de 90, sem Senna, Prost, Piquet e vários outros gênios como adversários e com essa tecnologia toda embarcada onde os carros praticamente não quebram é bem mais fácil colecionar títulos

      Considering they had a semi-auto for the MP4/6 at Hungary n 1991, it's kind of puzzling that that didn't go with it on the 6B for the first couple races of 1992 (guess it would've been too much investment for too little reward).

    Love to see Senna's inside-out racing gloves. With the manual gearbox , it must have been such hard work to control the immense power of the Honda engine, and to stay in touch with the Williams. The drivers must have been absolutely knackered at the end of the race. Compare it to today, where the drivers virtually jump out of the car, fresh as a daisy.

    Written below by A. Santos, below:
    "Senna was the last champion in history with a car with a mechanical manual transmission in 1991, without revs control or electronic accelerator that synchronized and managed the delivery of power and changes via software, with everything starting to be integrated together with the transmission and engine via electro-hydraulic system. The 3 biggest of all of this golden era 1950-91: Fangio, Clark and Senna in chronological order, it doesn't matter who is first because the title will be in great hands with whichever one it is. Then came the era electronics and button presses.
    Ps. Without ever forgetting that Ayrton is the only driver in F1 history to win a championship with the much-hyped monster V12 engines. Only he was able to tame them."

    To put into context, the 1992 Mclaren compare to Williams lap time is like comparing 2019 Williams to 2020 Mercedes. For Senna to keep up with a Williams for a full lap, that’s utterly astonishing.

      At the time, Williams with active suspension was very superior to the Mclaren Honda. Almost 1 second per lap. The only way Senna could equalize this difference was in rainy conditions or making an excepcional pole lap.

    • @livingbeing1113
      @livingbeing1113 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DreadfullMind No it wasn't. You do know that in 1993 all the top teams had active-suspensions right?
      Ayrton's McLaren's MP4/8 was extremely advanced and had better electronics and active-suspensions than anyone, it just had a weaker engine compared to Williams and Benetton earlier in the season.
      But in terms of driving aids, weight, chassis, being easy to drive and such, the 1993 McLaren was the best.
