His Majesty Andrés plays with a perfect sound, a perfect tempo, a unique expressivity. As for the prelude, some even excellent guitarists prefer to step on the gas and turn it into a sort of speedy Asturias, whereas Segovia is Segovia, that says it all.
according to the information given by the Met he played the Hauser guitar from 1938 to 1962. www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/503282 In "Segovia at Los Olivos" (1967) the maestro mentioned to play Ramirez and Fleta if I remember correctly. If this was recorded in 1964 most likely it's not the Hauser guitar anymore.
I assume Mario means the recording quality. In the Deutsche Gramophone cd presently available, on the market the sound 'bursts at the seam'. I assume because of multiple copuing. This one on youtube sounds pretty much OK, though. Or is Mr. Vilanova referring to a few modern dissonances?
@@segovianaofficial Thank´s for your reply. I don't like the sound quality of this post compared to others. However, I am a great admirer of A Segovia.
Saludos.

Great to hear the great maestro play on this historic recording of 1964.
What a fantastically guitaristic piece this is. Beautifully played here by the maestro.
Deep playing from the Maestro. Bravo.
Absolutely brilliant!, many thanks!, I've never heard the maestro play this before. Le gra mor!. Gérard lacey in Ireland. X.

Such incredible sound, firm yet ethereal. Can anyone tell me what guitar Segovia uses on the Mompou Suite...his Hauser I am guessing?

We are curious to know what is a good sound according to Mario Vilanova.

@@safarrisca he's right, the recording does clip/overdrive at some points. otherwise okay recording with good reverb sound.
