- Obscure Gamers dropped the Tera Release 2.0 today, and with in it was a build of the Simpsons Game for the Xbox 360 dated September 4th, 2007. Compared to the other prototypes/review copies we have for the X360 version, this is 23 days older than those, and about a month away from the final release of the game. What's really special about this build, however, is the fact that the original 3D animated FMV cutscenes are in here, compared to the final's 2D animated FMV cutscenes drawn like the show. However, not all of the levels are in this build, and that applies to the cutscenes as well. This video shows all of them that are in the build.
Note: These aren't actually rips of the cutscenes. The cutscenes are in a format called .vp6, and there's no way to convert those into a format like .mp4 or .avi, but there are ways to play the videos in a media player. I just put all of them in a program called Media Player Classic and then used OBS to record.
Note 2: This is not the first time we got a glimpse of the original 3D FMV cutscenes. In the July 6, 2007 prototype build of the Wii version, there was an early 80 Bites Around the World FMV. Another thing is the actual finished 3D FMV cutscenes were used in the DS version of the game, but obviously adjustments were made and it is not in the original quality.

Fun Fact : on the DS version of “the simpsons game” they used these prototype cutscenes as well for the beta of the game
I think that these cutscenes using 3D models actually sells the idea that the Simpsons are in a video game a lot more effectively than the 2D cutscenes that were used in the final release.

I don't know, I think the cartoon cut scenes were more appealing.
They are on the DS version but the HD versions are lost media including some of the finished cutscenes due to the DS version not having every cutscene
For the fact : the French word « capitulons » used for the name of the city is a conjunction from the verb for saying « give up »
I love how they still censored out the video game producer's name from mob rules.
there's an earlier prototype that doesn't. his name is larry probst and he left EA before the game released i presume that's why it was censored

I think the scene where Snorky and his minions rise from the ocean was also left 3-D in the final game

Those cutscenes look like DS. Even though they are. P.S I really love playing "The Simpsons Game" on XBOX 360 & DS
Interesting it seems the cutscenes were originally 3d animated before ig they wanted 2d cutscenes to tie it in more with the show and make this feel more like an episode.

they are the ds cutscenes yes, but later on in development they switched to the ones that are 2d animated and look like the show. the ds version still ended up using the 3d cutscenes though they are in the size of the ds screen
