29/04/2024 UPDATE: Hey everyone, TH-cam has glitched out on this video and for some reason restored the merch promo I cut out at the beginning, but without restoring the audio and so the entire video is majorly out of sync. I'll be in contact with the support team to hopefully get this resolved soon!
30/04/2024 UPDATE: I've fixed it now! Still have no idea why it happened, but I was able to revert to the original in TH-cam Studio and then cut the promo out again. Enjoy :) Also, 5 years?! How time flies...

Fun Fact: In the final stages of development, the devs were told to change how gravity works because it "just didn't feel right". This, of course, ruined how every jump in the game functioned which is why it's so easy to drive off ledges or crash into walls after getting serious air.
Really... But maybe this dumb change made the game better?

And I think you could change her clothes? So I would go in there pretending it was her house and that she was rich and fancy. Or playing as Lisa I would drive all around that sunset area pretending she was a movie star?

one of my favorite parts about the game is every once in a while when you kicked a person they'd go flying 100 feet vertically, didnt happen often but it was funny af
I noticed that it would happen more often if you double jumped and slammed down onto them lmao.

For some reason it happened way more consistently with the scientists in the plant in my experience

Massive respect to Tamago for explaining the whole Hit and Run story, it’s actually fairly complex compared to some modern games.
It’s also quite impressive how this isn’t written by Official Simpsons Writers, like Tamago said it wouldn’t be hard to believe this is written by Official Simpsons Writers.

Something about the colour palette and artistic presentation of this game has always appealed to me since a young child. It still does now.
I know right! The graphics may not be technologically advanced, but the overall look is kind of soothing and comfortable, especially the very first level and the sunset Lisa level.

Level 2 was one of my favorite levels ever...
Then level 3 happened.
At first I didn’t have a memory card so nothing saved but my brother and I tried our best to get as far as possible any time we could. Level 2 was a blast, but Level 3 was absolutely nothing we’d imagine. It’s just so beautiful.

I never watched The Simpsons, but when I was younger, this game had such a profound effect on me and was (and still is) one of my favorite games of all time. And despite not really watching the show, I still knew the characters, got attached to them, and loved all the references that I did happen to know from the show. The soundtrack and gameplay were so enjoyable and I could play this game constantly.

Don't feel too bad I only realised LAST YEAR that when you get 100 percent in every level you can go to the phone booth and press r1 (for ps2) and bring up a new menu that lets you drive any car in any level. For example you can use the toy car in level 1

I'm Italian, I played this game 20 times when I was a baby but I always played it in Spanish because for some reason there was no Italian language on he game and as a child I did not understand English (Spanish is the most similar language to Italian). When Hit and Run came out I was sure that it would get a sequel. I'm still wondering why that never happened.
Because it was so successful that there was a bidding war for the rights to the next Simpsons game, and EA had more moola than Fox Interactive.

Not even a little bit of an exaggeration, my PS2, was on consistently for over 30 months straight. I did not turn it off, at all. And it ran, perfectly the entire time, and works JUST as well, to this day. True fact. The original xbox and PS2 Are 2 of the best and hardiest consoles ever made.

Not wrong side of the tracks that one is easy. Delivering the nuclear waste seemed almost impossible when I was a kid.

My family had multiple memory cards, the one belonging to me was filled with either a) Need for Speed Underground 2 or b) Simpsons Hit & Run
I used to play this game as a kid and I finally found all my game discs. I love the cars in the game, although I always wondered why Homer's car was a convertible. Now that I'm older I can recognise some of the cars in the game; The comic book guy's car is an AMC Gremlin and Snake's car is a 1970 Dodge Coronet convertible. I never knew there was such a following for the game!

funny thing is, this game was meant to be a road rage sequel, but the lawsuit from sega caused them to decide to create all the cut scenes and the story. So this game is only as good as it is because the first one caused a lawsuit. i also notice how many of the voice lines revolving around the car were reused from road rage.
You are an absolute madlad for finishing this game. Some of the missions are so difficult, they still haunt me to this day.

I completed it about 5 times but it took me ages as a child like when i was 10 i completed it first time and a couple of the missions were so hard i nearly cried with frustration. 10 years later i come back and i still struggle and im like how the fuck did i do this as a kid.

@@SWAGGER573 I know, but I'd argue it's the simplicity of it which makes it so good. Simple, but really really fun. It doesn't try to over-complicate things yet it still manages to be challenging.
Oh my god, I dedicated so many hours of my life to this game, I also didn't have a memory card for the longest time lol, the only way I was ever able to beat any game was if me and my siblings got up early, and played the game all day long until we finally passed it, now that was true gaming, not this micro transaction shit that we have now a days

This game is an absolute gem. I've played many great games throughout my life, but none ever came close to the enjoyment I had experienced with this one. My siblings and I had a blast back in the days.

@@tamago2474 I never did that but my PS2 games that I sold, including the console, had a bunch of scratches on it. So much that they wouldn't even work anymore. The PS1 games always worked, but only a few PS2 games still worked.

There are cheat codes for this game one which grants invincibility to your vehicles for instance. There is one which grants access to the game's debug menu which is really a complete list of all vehicles including some you normally can't drive but this requires you to have 100% the game first

But I completed the whole thing at 6 however I only had a 98% progress in my game, I had to find one more Wasp camera ;-; and I sold my PS2, but in 2018 I got the hit and run on PC, and did it on 100%, I feel proud lol

Tbh this and The Simpsons Game are my favourite games to come from the Series. Xbox 360 Version for The Simpsons Game specifically, Hit and Run was good on everything.
