Something I would suggest is at the same time you bring in your capital ships, you should also bring in the fighter carriers. It gives you a fighter screen for your capture shuttle. Also, nice use so far of your MC40s and Dauntless. Those medium cruisers def carry the legwork of your screening firepower

8:30 On that note, check out the AOTR (Awakening of the Rebellion) empire at war mod. It does just that. Every ship and station with hard points has an extra "hull" hardpoint. I much prefer the space combat in that mod compared to Thrawn's Revenge or Fall of the Republic but the ground combat and galactic conquest absolutely suck which causes it to fall in rank for me. Regardless of that, something along those lines for Thrawn's Revenge would be absolutely golden. That way concentrating a fleets power on a target without micro managing them would actually be a viable thing to do.
A side note for how the hull hardpoint works. It drains the health of all the hardpoints at once but with a decent damage reduction. This works especially well for bombers which usually waste a significant amount of their munitions on already dead hardpoints.
Ecks playthrough is gunna be all fun and games until he forgets about the Yvethans and they launch a surprise attack on the core with all of thier SSDs.

Hey Ecks, I've been a main channel sub for a while (Best guess at around 4-5 years) and I've finally been convinced to play EAW, and even just starting out in the base game vanilla I'm loving it! All the available mods look really cool but the massive amount of options is a little intimidating, so a video about what mods you recommend and what's what would be really helpful for people like me trying to get into this niche space. Also, videos with details on some of the less heard of ships in these mods/game would be cool, e.g. the Assualt Frigate, Marauders, Dreadnought HC, etc.? Also, personally I think you should bring back face cam, I thought it added a lot, maybe just crop it somehow so it's a little smaller. Either way, loving this series a lot! (Plz more MC75 and Neb-B Action)
Regarding your view on overall ship health pools, I agree that it gets annoying when you have to choose whether you minmax the shots for efficiency, or lose half of them and let the AI do it. Perhaps they could have finagle the hypervelocity cannon effect of doing damage to random hardpoints when not directly impacting a hardpoint? Or something like Awakening of the Rebellion with a dedicated hull hardpoint for general health?
Move it up to Cruel AI after you conquer Coruscant and the important surrounding planets. That way it would be difficult at a time where you would have a fighting chance
hey eck, could you link your configuration for the campain in the description of your next video? i can't find some of the settings to add these custom vehicles into the game
If you need ground forces, you should invest in corp buildings on Chardaan(tanks), Belsavis(heavy trackers) and Suulust(aac-2 and later on 3). With all 10 slots of balanced ground forces and some money for turrets and field bases you can usualy defend against any ground attack especialy on certain planets. Just remember to always have some infantry and artillery standing at a repair station. Also you should invest more in your planets to fill all their slots so you can build 2 tax agencies without the influence building. You need all the stuff, tradeport/colony, shipyard, full lvl spacestation and secondary of any lvl, but you in the end tripple the income.

I went back to aotcw because I did not like the no hull hitbox so bad in fotr.
