Hello mate. Just wanna say my boys 6 years old and says your his go to drummer. Not travis not Dave not smelly. You. Buddy thank you for inspiring my boy. You’re something special buddy. English LRF fan.
Thanks for mentioning that, I looked up the interview and found it here: www.commdiginews.com/entertainment/interview-jordan-burns-drummer-for-strung-out-15955/ He also mentioned Gordy Forman from Frenzal, who along with Jordan was one of my favourite punk drummers way back!
Who are three of your favorite drummers in punk right now? JB: I think there are a lot of great drummers. That kid Kye Smith, he’s from Australia, he’s been doing all these medley drumming videos for TH-cam. He looks like he is just really killing it. He looks so relaxed and everything while he’s playing. I haven’t seen him play a whole lot of his own stuff, but he’s pretty rippin’.
I would like to address several thing. 1. Awesome cover. 2. The sound you get out of your kit is insane. 3. Where do you find the stamina to play like that? 4. Your poster wall is hot, especially Propagandhi and NoFX.
Dude. You fucking shredded on that song. Holy shit. Very clean fills. great single petal doubles. kind of a cross between heel toe and slide. I kinda play like that that. Great technique.
Hey! I've listening over en over again to the song. You're doing an amazing job but are you sure the fills are as played on the CD? to me it sounds as if he uses some flams and also for the for the first fill I have the feeling that he hits the cymbal first then the hi tom going to snare back to hi tom and ending on floor. The end is the same as you do. Don't know if you get me. Anyway the way you play it is great and maybe I shouldn't bother about those fills and just play them the way you do
God I love this song! I'm pretty sure it's about star crossed lovers. Love this band too but haven't been into them since Jordan left. I even saw them live with the new drummer and they aren't the same. I can't get past the baphomet on their album cover either.
I've been trying to develop a technique for a while, and lately I've resorted to the heel-toe technique. Do you find the slide technique, or your technique, to be better than the heel-toe for quick punk drumming? And how long did it take for you to develop it?
you should have tons of views, but unfortunately, strung out is not a famous band =( it's my fav band, anyway. awesome job! ps. I think jordan burns would feel happy to see that breathtaking performance!
@DavidPartay jeh, thats exactly what i thought. :) Getting more into punk lately but used to play a lot of metal, so speed's not really an issieu, just being curious:)
I've watched this video over so many times trying to figure out what technique you're using on the bass drum pedal, and it looks like the slide technique, but I'm not sure. Which is it?
Thanks dude, I'm not so lonely in this world (joke!) I'm a drummer and I play this songs like u... I practice with melodic fast punk rock (I'ts my music, my passion). Good work! Nice try! Cheers.
