    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@teresaanthony9633 Hi there, we're just creating a chart using the start dates as Y-axis. If you configure your dates quarterly-wise, then your gantt will look like 3-month chart. But please keep in mind that this gantt is to track tasks according to their durations, so making quarterly gantt may not be appropriate always.
      Hope this helps!

    How do you fix the dates at the top of the chart? They're jumbled

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, you can play with the chart formats to get a better view. Right click on the date axis and go to Format Axis panel. There, you'll find setting options for text, fills, label position, number format, etc. Hope this helps!

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, you can add completion % with Conditional Formatting > Data Bars in Excel. First, write your completion percentages and then add conditional formatting for a visual representation. Hope this helps! You can visit our Conditional Formatting Guideline for advanced tricks: www.someka.net/blog/excel-conditional-formatting/

    When I select dates, they don't appear the way I want them, my dates starts from 2023 but in the chart it appears from 1900, how do I change it?

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey there! Please ensure that your data is formatted correctly. Select your input date data, right click, and choose Format Cells. Under Category, select Date and your preferred date format. Hope this works for you.

    How to remove gaps between the dates

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there! If you want to remove the gaps between the orange bars, select them by right-clicking on them and choose "Format Data Series" on the menu. Then, go to Series Options on the side bar and decrease the Gap Width to 0% and increase the Series Overlap to 100%. This will remove the gaps between orange bars.
      However, if you want to adjust the intervals of horizantal axis (date intervals), you can right click the dates > Format Axis > Units and you can write how many days you want the intervals to be on the Major box.
      Hope these answers help! If you need further assistance, you can also contact us via contact @ someka . net

    But how about to make a duration in the same date
    only differences is time?
    Ex. Startdate: 1/1/2022 1pm
    Enddate: 1/1/2022 5pm

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hi there, we're using chart method here, and the dates are only the axes data of this chart. So if you use timings (which excel also let you do), then your chart will be formed based on the timings, not the dates. Hope this helps! Hi I want the date axis to start with the given date and not something random, how can I adjust these dates on axis, it is automatically predating couple of months

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Sundeep, you can try giving 0 to the start date of the first task and then manipulating the start dates of other tasks accordingly. But this will need of course some workarounds on the data. Because this is a very basic way to create gantts. If you need a more professional solution, please try our Gantt Chart Template: www.someka.net/products/gantt-chart-excel-template/
      Thanks again for your comment.

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, there's chance your file is on manual calculation mode, instead of auto-calculation. Or there might be some jumps on the formula. Maybe you can just send us your file at contact@someka.net, and we can check it out. By the way, also do not forget to check our ready-made gantt chart templates: www.someka.net/products/gantt-chart-excel-template/

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi there, thank you for asking. You can use the WEEKDAY function to check if start or end date of your tasks is a sunday or not and then increase the number of duration if any of them includes a sunday. Hope this helps! But if you're looking for a more complex gantt, you can try our product: www.someka.net/products/gantt-chart-excel-template/
      This template has a settings part where you can exclude any weekday from your gantt automatically. Thank you!

    Hi, do you have any video where suppose i have fix set of activities to be performed.
    Each activity may be sub activities.
    Like if 1 st activity has 1000 sub activities we say that 500 is complete. The we show status showing 50% is completed.
    Next week if we complete 250 out of remaining 500. So status updates to 75% complete?
    What i can use for that ?

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, this method is actually an workaround on the simple bar charts. So you can use the same logic on any other platforms, which may include the power Bı or other spreadsheet software. This is an Excel exemple, and include the excel chart features. Thank you!

    Well, all videos on TH-cam do the same as you do, i.e. create the chart first and add "Duration" later. I wonder why don't you select two data columns at the beginning and create the chart at one go. As simple as that.

    • @SomekaNet
      @SomekaNet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, thank you for your question. If you select both start time and duration at the same time and insert the chart, it won't create the Gantt chart properly and won't create the orange areas on the bars.

    • @ninhful
      @ninhful ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SomekaNet It works that way. But I like how you create flow chart in excel in another video. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks great. Thanks.
