The way you worded some of your methods resonate with how I learn, in such a great way! This just gave me some new visual ideas to apply I'll my own case! 💯
Cool video. I'd like to adapt it for event clusters rather than evenly spaced months. We tend to have a bunch of things happening at once during hurricanes, where I work.
Came for the Excel tips, stayed for The Voice, such a perfect example of natural ASMR ever, tonality, cadence, pace... all combined to make a lobotomy level sense of relaxation!!
I always use a scatter plot for timelines. It needs numbers for the x axis so I format dates to only display the name of the month. With years this isn't a problem of course. That way if there are gaps in between (months or years where nothing happens) it looks more realistic. Column charts distribute all column with an equal distance. For the error bars you can use the Custom option, using the y values in your chart.
I gave it a go for a 24hr period rather than months in your example, no luck. Maybe this method is not suited to non-even units eg 32min, 10min..... rather than even months. Great vid .
It can be done. Take off the current axis labels. Add a series, change plot style to line plot, remove lines and markers, add data labels referencing a months array. Make the heights alternate. Profit.
Hello, Can you please help me produce a timeline for a 36 hour period. For example that happens at 2200 on DAY 1 and the an event that happens at 0400 on Day 2?
Well done. The way you use the green arrows, hi-lighting, and more-visible cursor is really good. Your voice is pleasant and nicely modulated.
Good vid. Up speak was 🤯
You teaching is Excellent.. thanks

Thank you.
Wow, very creative 👏
Oh that was creative. Thank you for sharing.
Incredible tutorial 👏
Very interesting!
That's super cute, thanks. I think it could work nicely with all positive jitter values so that the lines don't cross the month labels.
Nice one! I would never have come up with that.
thanks a lot for this timeline chart, will surely try it in my QBR connect 😍
Great tutorial. Thanks. What happens if you have multiple items in one month
very nice...thank you. how did you come up with the Height values....

It would be awesome if there was the option to have the months alternatively over and below the axis X

How can you create dynamic status bar which shows current date line?
How can you get the months on the x-axis to alternative so that the bottom lines down to the task aren't cutting through them?
can you do the time line using dates
how can I adjust the timeline, i.e. weeks, quarters, etc.

Sometimes the "subscribe" decision is really easy.
Does not work...axis data is backward with no help in making corrections
You are so Beautiful I must say🤒
WAY TOO DIFFICULT to USE...
EXCEL has gotten WAY TOO ICING ON THE CAKE...
VERY FEW will ever use this!
Delevopment !? Hope you spell checked before sending it to your boss 😉
