You can only truly see a difference when you compare th S23 with like a 2 or 3 year older Samsung phone, just like the iPone 14, 13, and 12 comparison you did. You can't expect such a major leap in just a year, for example look at the iPhone 14 pro's 48 MP camera, is there much of a differnce from the iP 13 P ? Exactly ...... Plus, after a few updates things will get better on the S23 Ultra, just like the iPhone 14 Pro's. If you ask me i think this needs to be reviewed again after 6 months
You guys should probably compare the 50MP ExpertRAW photos VS 48MP ProRaw. Its the ONLY way to make such a comparison even remotely fair. Raw images simply cannot be compared to a JPG.
A useful review, thanks. Well organised and well delivered. The S23 Ultra is clearly a bit better than the s21 Ultra that I have, but not worth the extra to upgrade.
Yup. Sticking to my S22 Ultra as well. Until there is something revolutionary in the camera department, I'm not interested in spending money in minor upgrades.
These are called poor reviews because is computer is poor. Search techyonion that guy showed the difference from a pixel level and s23u is almost 10 times better in pixel quality. These people dont have the hardware to go pixel level.
Lol what kind of brains do you have to think like that? The s22u is better then the 21 but the s23u is light years above the s22u lol....do you just dis regard the Gen 2 snapdragon? The amazing ram? The vision booster that actually works this year....the amazing battery ...list goes on
This review was done on his 15 inch laptop screen, you can barely notice any difference between a 720p video vs a 4K video with that screen size. When people watch the pictures and video on their 55-65 inch TVs, they can notice big difference. Size of screen effects your review.
For the iPhone vs Samsung camera test make sure to turn on photographic styles or when you take low light pictures make sure to test up to 10 seconds on both and see how far ahead apple is
@@Minimalx04 I’ve had the same cable for 3 years, dynamic island has functionality unlike the punch hole, and I’ve been gaming today for 2 hours with NO THROTTLING😱 fool😂
Not bad, when I used the 13 pro max very lightly 8hrs I had 50% left So 16 hours of very light use meaning TH-cam, safari, couple apps, and at 20-30% brightness all day
12hours SOT is not the only baseline to use as battery life. I cringe when I read people boasting about SOT when there are so many other factors at play.
I usually only take photos of family and random food. Therefore, I'm keeping my S21 Ultra until the S24 arrives. Besides, I'm still in love with these rounded corners and the camera bump. ❤
Well, I don't disagree, but it's more complicated. There are so many scenarios with the main camera of the s23u where you can see a big difference in sharpness and texture level - a few might borderline over sharpness - but I am kind of biased because I know exactly how to find them after doing hundreds of shots versus the s22u. But on the other hand I am also "biased" in spotting many hdr related problems with the sky being cyan and the highlights being too yellow on the s23u that you see in this video without mentioning it. However, these color problems are expected to be fixed very soon.
Software Updates on brand new camera hardware is key. Just like the S22U had vs S21U. S23U will start to really shine a few weeks or months from now. Then there should be a new comparison made
I agree too. I like batery in s23u. I dislike blue sky photo. It makes fake too much, not better than s22u. But 23u camera in case night really very good.

It is a VERY clever pro IPhone channel for sure. It gives IPhone users what they want to hear, and why not as Android has it's pro channels also. Life has to be balanced.
Actually, I really enjoy Samsung phones. They are ahead of Apple in many ways. The S23 Ulta is amazing and the regular S23 puts the iPhone 14 to shame. I think is a very well-balanced phone and great for most uses that don't need iOS. Personally, I'm stuck to the iPhone because of Apple Watch and MacOS integration which we use for Final Cut Pro. It saves me a lot of time being in one ecosystem and most friends and family use iMessage as well.
@@MaxTechOfficial I think that it is a popular misconception amongst non IPhone users that IPhone owners are trapped within the whole Apple ecosystem. Friends of mine with IPhones happily embrace the ecosystem and have other Apple devices to link with their phones and they really could NOT be happier. And why not?, as they are all lucky to be able to afford multiple pieces of this ecosystem. I love my new S23 Ultra big time just as anyone having bought, or who is about to buy, an IPhone 14 Pro Max loves their fine device. In saying all this, I also think it is good that the Samsung v Apple rivalry exists as it just shows how passionately people love their devices and seek to avenge any 'attack' on them in these comments sections..🤣🤣 I enjoy reading these delightful squabbles because these can be very intelligent squabblers who raise very interesting points of comparison. Let's be honest to finish now. Both Samsung and Apple rock and make brilliant devices for us fortunate people. Period.👍
Buddy this is a famously pro IPhone channel. Nothing wrong with that in that every manufacturer has their pro channels in this competitive world of ours. If you want a balanced view of the capabilities of the p23 Ultra this ain't the place to be. Seriously. They don't lie on this clever channel, just heavily slant and direct things to 'bring down' a rival device and ignore it's strengths or mention them fleetingly or dismissively.
This is about 3 Samsung phones....Iphone wasn't even part of the discussion. Samsung fans have this inferior complex with iphone. Even when iphone wasn't part of the conversation.
I know this isn’t the iPhone test video, but I’ve always wondered why you or any other you tuber never use the iPhones filters that are baked in to the photo. I would like to see a video with these photographic styles applied and see how the blind test goes then. Please do this and see what we all think.
Nobody wants to for some reason, I use photographic styles to make my photos look more contrasty, they should honestly use it because I feel like apple would shoot up in people’s preference
@@Unknownuserhtps I just think from a few years back everyone picked the pixel photos over the iPhones because of the contrast been better or higher. So Apple put the option in there for more choices for the user. 🤷🏽
It’s too much work to do a comparison with photographic style. And it’s quite tuneable so everyone might have their own tuning. Definitely nice to compare default styles to say Leica authentic on Xiaomi or Hasselblad colors on OnePlus. I would also like to see all these comparisons in HLG delivered in HDR10+ or dolby vision, iPhones are capable of taking both dolby vision photos and videos. Again it might be too much work but I do like watching HDR content on TH-cam.
Dude, a 2021 phone is holding up so to a brand new 2023 phone with twice the megapixels. I actually preferred the S21 Ultra pics more than I thought. We all think, nah its outdated.
this is really the only channel I've seen where the s23 ultra pictures look bad lol ... I have the iPhone 13pm and keep it but getting my s23 ultra on Tuesday... I don't want to post any other TH-camr names on your page but man impressed by several TH-camrs that can actually do videography, especially in 8k who is also an iPhone user and takes great pictures .... but when I come to this channel the pictures just look straight up bad lol
I have S22 Ultra and 23Ultra .... in 12mp and All zoom lens S22 Ultra is better only in 200MP in S23 is bit better. Video on S22 In 8K has much more detials than s23Ultra but S23 is more stable. 4K IS ALSO SAME S23 HAS MORE DETAILS AND S23 HAS MORE STABLE LOOKING PHOTO
Hello, I've had the S21 Ultra for 2 years now and I'm still very satisfied. I tested the S22 Ultra when it came out as well as the S23 Ultra and honestly, the differences are so minimal that I'm not considering a replacement. Honestly, I had 2X problem with S21 Ultra Screen, it died 2 times! Of course, Samsung replaced the phone and I got a new one, but I just don't trust them anymore. The same thing happened to me with their Monitor. Since I've never owned an iPhone, I think I'll get the 14Pro Max or just wait for the 15. At the end of the day, with a little Photoshop, any phone can take great pictures :) Thank you for this Video :)
I got a 14 pro max from a 21 ultra. The camera is better and as a Samsung fan… that pains me to say that. In all honesty. How is my 2 year old phone so much lower grade the 23 ultra. It isn’t. My camera used to be better. All of a sudden, after an update I started to get blurs and distortions, and colors were not true. I am one of those people that bought the phone for the cameras. I used mine for work and play all day every day so I was able to tell right away. Now Apple does not let us have as much control. Like no pro modes, or directors view. But it does stuff without having to do it manually. Like going into macro mode when the phone is right above what it is trying to take a picture of.
Samsung just upset us with the 22 and now made the 23ultra have a bunch of iPhone features. No give up back our I.R. Blasters, notification leds, and other cool stuff we used to get on android. If not…. Might as well get a real Apple, not a knock off that actually costs more and get less years of support. While messing up the software on older models like the 21 ultra.
The one thing to remember is that this is s23 ultra out of the box. Before it has been refined and updated and fixed and corrected. What you see of s22 ultra is the best version of its capabilities. When it came out, even the s22 ultra did not take shots which were that great.
Let's be honest, Samsung's 200 Mp camera is a statement of technical achievement and not a new level of photographic excellence. I applaud Samsung for showing vitality and vigour and vision to a degree with the S23 Ultra and their flip and fold devices, but this may only be good news now for IPhone consumers as Apple have to step up a little with the IPhone 15 series this year to avoid looking a little stale for the first time.
Samsung isn't trying to sell cos the S23 Ultra is a very big upgrade, all round. And you're forgetting that they set the standard for innovation of smartphones this year, even for Apple
The jovial kids play was a great way to present some sense of the audio recording quality. But presenting a cetacean captivity theme park is really saddening as it normalises animal abuse as entertainment. Those ocean faring mammals would rather be free, that's a fact. #blackfish #thecove Anyways, thanks for the helpful comparison. A demonstration of audio functions would always be appreciated!
TBH, with such marginal differences My pick would be s21 ultra hands down. Even in 2023 its still a worthy flagship and you're not missing much by not buying s23 or s22 and it's way more pretty design wise
I really don't know why Apple still has not caught up with Samsung on things like camera zoom - it's quite annoying. Great video - sound seems a bit quiet, just so you know.
Loved my S21 Ultra, the look, the camera layout, everything about it! Left Samsung years ago, because it was the same crap like iPhone, and purchased the Huawei P30 Pro, and loved it! Same with Huawei, not much change after that to the P40 and so on, so I purchased the S21 Ultra! Now I'm back on the band wagon for now with the S23 Ultra. Never liked the design change of the S22 Ultra, which was a tweaked version of the of the S21 Ultra, not even worth looking at. The S23 Ultra is a complete new beast, that carries nothing the same as the tweaked S22 Ultra under the hood. Only similarity between S22 and S23 is the in design, Spen and camera layout, which the S23 has bigger lens. S23 Ultra is the new over all king for awhile!!
At the 1:25 mark, I have to disagree with you. If you look to the upper right corner, there is what appears to be a sign. On the S23 Ultra, you see what is on sign much better than the other two.
i think the reason the 200mp looks worse scaled to 12mp than the 108mp is that it's not an even number. 108:12 reduces to 9 whereas 200:12 reduces to 16.66 repeating.
I think we should be happy to know tht when you get a samsung phone, it will be a great piece of tech all around, no matter wht year you compare it too.
thats just a fact that all the new Smartphones are so good. you cant see many difference and there will no change in some more years. its all about taste
I’m a professional photographer my interest is more about making prints and generally they’re quite large using sharpening software AI. In terms of larger prints, do you think there would be any difference between the Samsung S23 ultra and S22 ultra in terms of detail and sharpness?
There are a ton of settings you can change, and you can edit photos after. Most people use the out-of-the-box settings so when people watch these videos for the next 1-2 years they are trying to see the difference they will get. I've done these videos for many years and when you do videos showing a bunch of optimizations made for each product you have other people that complain. This way fits better for most even though I might do things differently personally (like shooting ProRAW and converting to HEIC's)
@@MaxTechOfficial don't worry about Samsung fanboy. I am a Samsung user and I am annoyed by the way they act. Go to other you tubers and look at their comments. I had to argue with some people here and tell them that this video is about 3 Samsung phones. No where is there an iphone in the title. But they always have to bring up iphone in any discussion. thank you for the great video Samsung's Galaxy s23 ultra 8K is really beautiful. I want to because I can't get a video like this on my iPhone. It's a shame you guys didn't include the Note 20 Ultra. I preordered the S23 Ultra, used it for 10 days and then returned it. I was VERY unimpressed when I compared it to my Note 20 Ultra!
possible that Samsung discreetly downgraded S21 Ultra's camera through updates to make people upgrade to either one of the newer flagships because they know that people make a lot of these side by side camera comparisons, and S21 Ultra MUST come out inferior looking
S21 Ultra to S23 Ultra upgrade isn't worth it.. that's what I feel.. I like the new look of this device S23U and device performance is good.. But 200MP is not good. I prefer 50MP and 12MP nightmode shots rather than 200MP. 50MP shots looks soo cool and natural...8K30fps videos have motion blur and 4K60fps is better in that case...

Idont hav s22u in my hand for now but from what ive test 50mp s23u totally beat up 108mp s20u even in day time same shot same distance lot more detail in 50mp than old 108mp

Made it myself using these parts. 1x geni.us/aruy 4x geni.us/OngF5 3x geni.us/vbXEB and 1x geni.us/7aBJ88 but you can replace the parts with similar ones.
It's already in the top. There is no point to improve. All companies have a separate department probably, just to decide what is the least improvement they can do to sell the next model. They need to think for next 5-10 years, can't put everything to the next model. As there is no real breakthrough in this area. Maybe if there will be a next gen battery or something.
After failing to replace my S21 Ultra because I was shipped a brick. I decided to buy the S23 Ultra to avoid any more hassle. insurance paid for it, so i can't complain too much.

My S21 Ultra does excellent photos 📸 and I can show you as well. I guess it's the camera lottery again on phones.
It is a massive upgrade for me from my Exynos S21 Ultra @a paul. In so many ways. We Europeans were short changed with Exynos devices for too long.
@@LuisPedroCalmetOtero Thanks, that's interesting. Different view by @neilmcguinness4422 below.
The vision booster that actually works this year....the amazing battery ...list goes on
Very useful review, thank you. Since I'm much more in the photographic camp than in the filming one, I'm sticking to my S22 Ultra photography wise.
This review was done on his 15 inch laptop screen, you can barely notice any difference between a 720p video vs a 4K video with that screen size. When people watch the pictures and video on their 55-65 inch TVs, they can notice big difference. Size of screen effects your review.
I think s21 ultra is the best option its price is a little improvement and look very similar displays.
For the iPhone vs Samsung camera test make sure to turn on photographic styles or when you take low light pictures make sure to test up to 10 seconds on both and see how far ahead apple is

Isheep ,bro you again??
It is absolutely worth it, 12 hrs SOT, with battery to spare on light mode. Not a gamer
Not bad, when I used the 13 pro max very lightly 8hrs I had 50% left
So 16 hours of very light use meaning TH-cam, safari, couple apps, and at 20-30% brightness all day
12hours SOT is not the only baseline to use as battery life. I cringe when I read people boasting about SOT when there are so many other factors at play.
@@mrkring1526 like what exactly? If people say light use then obv it means light use nothing more
I usually only take photos of family and random food.
Stop with the Samsung bashing mate. You made enough money from Apple
I would love to also see an astronomy comparison of the night sky between s23 ultra and iPhone
S21 Ultra still have good camera.
Love the video! You sound a lil bit down but I don't mind it, i believe it's bc of the amount of work you've got to put into this, hope you can get a lot out of it! I kinda wanted even more pics of ppl since it's most important for most ppl. Thanks Max! I appreciate you
Watching this video, instead of buying the s22 ultra I brought the s21 ultra. I'm gonna wait for a big jump lmfao
Please do regular S23 vs S22 vs S21
This channel hates Android
It is a VERY clever pro IPhone channel for sure. It gives IPhone users what they want to hear, and why not as Android has it's pro channels also. Life has to be balanced.
If they really hate Android then why would they do this video.
Period.👍
I like that you are not shouting in this video
Samsung camera has been proved better than apple, theres always something you guys change and dont mention to make apple win, its annoying
MKBHD also gives apple the camera award every year
Don’t get upset that apple is better it’s just how it is🤷♂️
Buddy this is a famously pro IPhone channel.
@@hienho15 I am talking about the camera comparison
The one with the iphone vs pixel vs galaxy
@@fevo28 yep and I love it
It’s too much work to do a comparison with photographic style.
@@PTYC933 yeah I see where you’re coming from but would be nice just to see a little example on this tho.
I still have s21 ultra and camera is phenomenal still .. you can't say its bad! Selection of a word is very important
Bro ! Your comparison is awesome. That's very kind of you.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dude, a 2021 phone is holding up so to a brand new 2023 phone with twice the megapixels. I actually preferred the S21 Ultra pics more than I thought. We all think, nah its outdated.
some better processing in a few shots, saturation more natural and similiar to the 23
this is really the only channel I've seen where the s23 ultra pictures look bad lol ...
Hello,
I've had the S21 Ultra for 2 years now and I'm still very satisfied.
At the end of the day, with a little Photoshop, any phone can take great pictures :)
Thank you for this Video :)
Just traded in my S22 Ultra for the S23 Ultra today.
This is an awesome comparison, very good job. Thanks soo much for this!
The s22 seems to have a green tint while the s23 has a magenta tint.
The s21 is kinda neutral
Let's be honest, Samsung's 200 Mp camera is a statement of technical achievement and not a new level of photographic excellence. I applaud Samsung for showing vitality and vigour and vision to a degree with the S23 Ultra and their flip and fold devices, but this may only be good news now for IPhone consumers as Apple have to step up a little with the IPhone 15 series this year to avoid looking a little stale for the first time.
Search techyonion in YT he showed 200MP at pixel level against iphones 48MP RAW.
Every other reviewers they recommend upgrading, except Apple Tech
why do you hate the S23 ULTRA so much though?
Not sure.
#blackfish #thecove
Anyways, thanks for the helpful comparison.
S23 ULTRA VS S22 ULTRA DETAILED COMPARISON, DISPLAY, SPEAKER ETC
Lol. Good luck with shooting 8K all the time with the 256gb storage
Honestly, I'd be happy with the S21.
The S23 has only come our, expect software and Camera updates. Takes the first 12 months to get better on any new model phone
I think we should be happy to know tht when you get a samsung phone, it will be a great piece of tech all around, no matter wht year you compare it too.
the s22 looks the best, followed by s21, the s23 looks the worst.
Honestly all the photos look good enough to use. I personally don’t think people are just taking photos like that.
what are people taking pics of where you live then?
Unfortunately cameras on phones have almost reach the peak of technology and upgrades are only minimal
My eyes are not sharp enough for these types of camera comparisons, lol.
????Hey, could you list the device you are using to hold all three phones. I want one. Thanks
I can't trust any US youtuber. u guys, u guys u are biased when it comes to samsung compared to iPhone
S21 ultra 5G👍
thats just a fact that all the new Smartphones are so good. you cant see many difference and there will no change in some more years. its all about taste
I’m a professional photographer my interest is more about making prints and generally they’re quite large using sharpening software AI. In terms of larger prints, do you think there would be any difference between the Samsung S23 ultra and S22 ultra in terms of detail and sharpness?
looks like most of the time your s21 has dirty cameras, why is there alot of smearing?
The moment when you know that like apple , amsung foes degrade their previous golden successors tok
What you get from this video is the S23 Ultra will be even better in a few months. Since 200MP has 1st gen optimization for that sensor.
Bro you look like Randy Ottern
Now do iPhone and see how bad the iphone 14 processing is.
S23 Ultra is The King.
Max’s voice is different 😅
Seems like he's just speaking lower since he's not home. In the other comparison, the other two people mentioned he was on a trip or something.
haha yup. I was using different microphones and in a hotel room.
Love when an IPhone guy doesn’t know how to go into settings and change things
He doesn’t change settings on the iPhones either
I laugh at Samsung fanboy making assumptions.
If any of them say anything critical about Samsung, they would get a lot of insult and claiming them as Apples fanboys. I had to argue with some people here and tell them that this video is about 3 Samsung phones. No where is there an iphone in the title. But they always have to bring up iphone in any discussion. It is pathetic and whiny.
you are the only reviewer that used 16:9 aspect ratio only one who understand that pictures of samsung are very wide and must be slightly cropped ..
no sound?
thank you for the great video
Samsung's Galaxy s23 ultra 8K is really beautiful. I want to because I can't get a video like this on my iPhone.
I like Samsung, which continues to work hard even when the profit rate is low, comes up with new technologies and ideas, and makes its own hardware to match them.
sir can u check what refresh rate is iphone 14 pro is actually using ? i have ipad pro 2021 (it has 120hz display ) i can feel that iphone is capped atg 80-90hz max . whereas ipad can go upto 120hz
Ya dude this need to pinned . I thought only my unit had some problem daam its apple who is cheating
I had S22Ultra for a year and now 23ultra i feellike i downgrade in 10 x zoom and 1080mp on s2 ultra better than 200mp on s23 ultra
It's a shame you guys didn't include the Note 20 Ultra.
I preordered the S23 Ultra, used it for 10 days and then returned it. I was VERY unimpressed when I compared it to my Note 20 Ultra!
not worth the comparison. The difference would have been obviously even bigger.
The s23 was the best at selfies I don't know what your eyes were seeing
S21 won at least a few to be honest
possible that Samsung discreetly downgraded S21 Ultra's camera through updates to make people upgrade to either one of the newer flagships because they know that people make a lot of these side by side camera comparisons, and S21 Ultra MUST come out inferior looking
Video on the samsung s21 ultra was initially bad, especially 4k 60fps. Before that, I had c9 plus, during the day he shot videos better.
I have an s10 and am looking to upgrade. The s23u is too much for me so I'm looking at the s21u or s22u. Having a hard time deciding. I really want a great camera. The s21u is a great bargain too. What to do?
I liked the S21 more often than the S22 shots
High MP count and 8K are useless... Anyways, I own an S21 Ultra and ordered an S23 Ultra, guess I made a good choice. Can't wait for it to come!
8k isnt useless....try snapping pics from video and check quality..thank me later
There is big differences but you'll not ready for that conversation. The S23 ultra is a beast.
As iPhone 13 Pro user, I am craving for S23U. Next year I’m going to switch back to Samsung with the S24U.
Hey Max i suggest you to try 50mp mode vs 12 or even 108mp of s21 s22. 50mp is where you get the best of both world
50mp mode is where you still have dual gain slope which is something special about this isocell hp2 sensor. Idont hav s22u in my hand for now but from what ive test 50mp s23u totally beat up 108mp s20u even in day time same shot same distance lot more detail in 50mp than old 108mp
I'll upgrade to the s24 ultra, for now I'll keep my s22 ultra, not a fan of cameras, i only bought for the spen and dex for work, camera,I wouldn't upgrade for, thanks for the awesome video
I previously have Note 20 ultra, just bought S23 ultra, camera difference enormous.
Hello! What triple-tripod do you use in the video? Name of all “hardware”?
Made it myself using these parts. 1x geni.us/aruy 4x geni.us/OngF5 3x geni.us/vbXEB and 1x geni.us/7aBJ88 but you can replace the parts with similar ones.
family were having a rest, and the father was working
It's already in the top. There is no point to improve.
All companies have a separate department probably, just to decide what is the least improvement they can do to sell the next model.
They need to think for next 5-10 years, can't put everything to the next model.
As there is no real breakthrough in this area. Maybe if there will be a next gen battery or something.
The S23 Ultra need very long to make a photo looks like 0,5 sec - 1 sec between S21/22 and S23 is that right?
After failing to replace my S21 Ultra because I was shipped a brick. I decided to buy the S23 Ultra to avoid any more hassle. insurance paid for it, so i can't complain too much.
